When Nord and Lia returned ho, they were t with an unexpected visitor.

"Father... sir." Nord gazed at the stern-looking middle-aged man before him and called out softly.

Lia, on the other hand, hid timidly behind Nord, peeking out with only a small part of her head showing.

The middle-aged man standing before Nord had short dark-gold hair.

His features were undeniably handso, but his expression remained solemn and unsmiling, giving off an air of rigid discipline.

He was dressed in a black suit, with not a single wrinkle visible from his tie to his sleeves, exuding an impeccable sense of order.

"Good afternoon, Father," Nord greeted him.

The man's expression didn't change in the slightest as he simply nodded and asked in a calm tone, "Nord, I heard that you haven't attended a single dissection class since the very first session?"

"Well... I apologize," Nord lowered his head and responded.

"Forget it," the middle-aged man said, showing no signs of reproach.

Instead, he turned to Nord and Lia and said, "Nord, Lia, follow ."

"Where are we going, Father?"

"No need to ask questions, just follow," the man replied stiffly before turning around and walking away.

Nord and Lia exchanged glances before quickly following behind him.

As they walked along the family estate's pathways, Lia remained close behind Nord but couldn't help curiously glancing around.

In truth, Nord and Lia rarely left the confines of their ho.

The reason was simple: they were the direct descendants of the La Seferd family's patriarch—Claude La Seferd.

As mbers of the main bloodline, they possessed the purest lineage.

The La Seferd family was known as the "Descendants of the Gods."

Their ancestors were believed to be direct offspring of a divine being from the Age of the Gods.

Because of this, the clan took imnse pride in their heritage.

This lineage granted them exceptional talent from birth—whether in magic, knowledge acquisition, or other fields, their learning process was significantly easier and faster than that of ordinary people.

Furthermore, the purer the bloodline, the more terrifying their innate abilities beca.

The power of the La Seferd family was formidable.

Even during the era when Zeref wreaked havoc across the continent, their family remained unscathed.

As a result, various factions across the land regarded them with the warning:

"Stay as far away as possible. Do not provoke."

"Nii-sama, do you know where Father is taking us?" Lia whispered cautiously into Nord's ear, her bright blue eyes blinking with curiosity as she watched their father's back.

Nord shook his head lightly and said in a soft voice, "I'm not entirely sure. But this is the first ti in a month that Father has co looking for us. I suppose it must be sothing important."

As Nord and Lia spoke, their father, walking ahead, suddenly stopped.

The two children quickly straightened up and stood properly.

Only then did Nord lift his gaze to examine the building before them.

It was a single-story structure, plain and unadorned.

From Nord's perspective, it appeared as though the building had no windows at all—just a massive, black tal door.

"Where is this place, Father?" Nord asked softly, a sudden and intense sense of foreboding welling up inside him.

It felt as if an invisible hand had clenched around his heart, sending a chill down his spine.

Behind him, he could feel Lia's small body trembling slightly.

"There is no need to ask. Just follow inside," their father responded, glancing briefly at Nord and Lia before stepping forward and knocking on the black door.

His knocking was not random—it followed a distinct rhythm and pattern, almost like a coded lody.

After a brief silence, the black door creaked open just a crack, revealing half of a pale face with slit-like, serpent-like pupils staring from the other side.

"Ah, so it's the esteed Clan Leader Claude. We've been expecting you," the owner of the pale face said with a hint of delight.

Monts later, the sound of heavy chains being dragged echoed through the air, and the massive black door slowly swung open completely.

At that mont, Nord finally got a clear look at the owner of the pale face—a middle-aged man with jet-black hair.

But what stood out the most were his cold, serpent-like pupils, exuding an eerie chill.

"Welco. So, these are the Clan Leader's children?" The black-haired man said as he looked at Nord and Lia.

Nord's father gave a slight nod before turning to Nord and Lia. "Go inside."

"Father..." Nord started to speak, hesitation in his voice.

"There is no need for discussion. That is an order," his father stated coldly, his face devoid of emotion.

Nord froze for a brief mont.

After a short hesitation, he finally steeled himself, grasped Lia's hand tightly, and slowly stepped through the black door.

"Heh, you're as strict as ever, Clan Leader," the black-haired man remarked with a hint of amusent.

But Nord's father did not respond.

His expression remained indifferent as he silently watched Nord and Lia walk into the dimly lit room.

The mont they stepped inside, Nord suddenly felt his limbs being forcibly restrained.

"What's going on?!" he cried out in alarm.

"Nii-sama, help ! Let go!" Lia's panicked, tearful voice rang out behind him.

Nord struggled to turn his head and saw two n dressed in black twisting Lia's arms behind her back, restraining her joints.

Although he couldn't see behind himself, he instinctively knew that he was in the sa predicant—seized and immobilized by n in black.

"What are you doing? Let go!" Nord struggled with all his might, reaching out desperately toward Lia. "Lia!"

"Nii-sama!" Tears welled up in Lia's ocean-blue eyes as she sobbed in terror. "Help , Nii-sama!"

A slow, rhythmic clapping sound echoed through the room.

"Ah, how touching. Such a deep sibling bond," the black-haired man chuckled, his tone laced with mockery. "What a pity... Black Guards, take them to the designated rooms."

Hearing the black-haired man's words, the black-clad figures began dragging Nord and Lia in opposite directions.

anwhile, their father turned away, his expression cold and emotionless, and left without a word.

"Why? Why are you abandoning us here? Don't leave us behind—please, Father!" Nord struggled desperately, reaching out toward his father's retreating figure.

But that distant, indifferent silhouette never once looked back and simply walked away.

"Nii-sama, save ! Save !" Lia's desperate cries rang in Nord's ears.

He turned to see her tear-streaked face filled with terror.

"Lia, I will save you! I will definitely save you!!!"

Nord strained to reach out his hand, trying to grasp hers.

Their fingertips were only a centiter apart—but that re centiter felt like an insurmountable chasm, a distance that could never be bridged.

"I will save you! I swear I will save you!! Lia!!!! Wait for !"

"Nii-sama!"
