Why had it co to this?
Noel had asked himself countless tis in his heart, what was the reason he believed he was right?
Almost adhering strictly to this path, was this really the best choice?
Or, as Lia had said, no matter how far this world developed, the so-called sorrow, pain, and despair would never disappear.
So, was it truly the right thing to do to completely shatter everything and be reborn from the ashes like a phoenix?
It wasn’t until later that Noel realized the answer to this question didn’t need to be asked to anyone, because the answer had always been within his own heart.
— Noel loved this world, and that’s why he wanted to protect it.
Yes, Noel had once experienced heart-wrenching sorrow and unforgettable despair in this world.
At that ti, Noel seed to have fallen into a bottomless abyss, where even if he looked up, all he could see was a dark, deep void that made him feel utterly hopeless, seeing no trace of hope or happiness.
If no one had co to save him, perhaps one day Noel would have co to share the sa thoughts as Lia, believing that this world was worthless, and that only complete destruction could create a new one.
But Noel was lucky.
At the ti when he was most lost, he t Makarov, joined the Fairy Tail guild, and found his own "ho."
He received warmth and happiness that Noel could never have obtained, and from that mont on, Noel had made up his mind to protect this small but steadfast happiness.
For that, he was willing to give up everything.
Because he had experienced pain, he cherished everything he had even more.
He understood the value of happiness more clearly and was more determined to pursue it...
If he had never experienced pain, he would not understand what happiness truly is.
Lia, because you cannot understand this, the path you have chosen is the wrong one.
Noel slowly opened his eyes, looking at the torrent of darkness rushing towards him.
A slight smile curled at the corner of his lips.
His right hand, holding the Sword of Judgnt, tightened slightly.
Boom.
The explosive force of darkness, carrying a fierce aura, completely engulfed Noel.
The chilling dark waves spread out in all directions, and the already dark sky beca even more terrifying.
The explosive energy flowed and mixed, and the chaotic power spilled everywhere, tearing the sky apart, creating rifts in space.
The entire sky appeared as if it were a tattered curtain.
"Is this the end?"
Lia murmured to herself.
At this mont, her breath was a little erratic, and the sweat beading on her forehead signaled that her condition had deteriorated to the point of being heavily burdened.
However, Lia paid no attention to these issues.
Instead, she looked towards the area engulfed by the darkness, murmuring,
"Even Nord-niisama, under this strike, will no longer be able to fight..."
Lia’s words trailed off, and her sea-blue pupils locked onto the area ahead.
In the region covered by darkness, an unusual energy was rapidly rising at an unbelievable speed.
Soon after, amidst the deep and vast dark torrent, a golden light slowly blossod like a flower.
Boom!
The dark torrent was shattered, and a figure slowly erged, surrounded by golden light.
The surrounding area was filled with deep, dark shadows, but the central golden light was so dazzling, as if it signified a brilliance that would never be tainted or compromised.
Lia’s gaze shifted to the back of Noel, where half of the wings, symbolizing the Lord of Light, were slowly disappearing, as if they had turned to weathered stone.
As three of the wings broke off, the divine power around Noel surged dramatically.
"Nord-niisama, this is...?" Lia murmured in a daze.
"[Light Divine Art, Chapter 10, Forbidden Chapter, Section 3 — Divine Forbidden Technique, The Wailing of the Gods]."
Noel softly uttered the na of the technique, an absolute forbidden technique that sacrifices one’s own rank to push their power to its utmost limit.
For soone like Noel, who sacrificed three of his wings in one breath, even after the battle ends, it would take countless ti and energy to restore them—he could never return to his original state.
It was a permanent drop in rank, essentially a life-or-death trump card.
Noel showed no hesitation.
He looked at Lia, took a deep breath, and then raised his arm.
All the Light Divine Power within his body seed to be summoned, converging into his hand.
It was a brilliant light so intense that it was impossible to look away, drawing the attention of everyone’s heart and mind.
The fleeting beauty of that light was enough to leave an indelible mark.
The light settled and condensed, forming into a golden spear.
The spear twisted in a spiral, with one end split into two peculiar forked shapes, and faint golden liquid that resembled blood flowing on them.
"This... what is this?!" Lia’s pupils contracted.
"[Light Divine Art, Chapter 9, Section 7, Spear of Longinus]."
It was a soft whisper, barely audible, that escaped from Noel’s lips.
Without giving Lia any chance to react, Noel’s figure moved.
In an instant, as if it were a single mont, an overwhelming storm of force erupted.
Holding the spear, Noel shot through space and ti like a cot, charging straight at Lia.
In that brief mont, all the light in the world gathered, concentrating at the tip of the spear.
That point of light beca the sole focus of the heavens and the earth.
Boom!
Lia’s dark divine power shattered into pieces, lting away like snow in the sunlight, unable to slow Noel even for a mont.
The blinding beam of light pierced through Lia’s body and shot into the distance.
Wherever the light passed, the darkness was dispelled, as if so form of salvation had been achieved.
Noel stretched out his arm and caught the slowly descending body.
The six black wings behind Lia gradually dissipated, rging into her body.
With all her strength exhausted, Lia collapsed into Noel’s arms.
"I didn’t notice before, Lia, you’ve beco even more thin since the last ti I saw you."
Noel gazed at Lia’s face as she slept, offering a smile full of complex aning.
Then he lifted his head and looked at the space-ti still slowly crumbling, his brow furrowing slightly.
"Next, it’s ti to deal with what cos after."
..............
Holding Lia in his arms, Noel tore open the rift in space and re-entered the pure white world.
Looking at the towering door in front of him, Noel extended his hand, and the hexagonal crystal appeared in his palm.
"I have already stopped Lia... the Dark Lord’s actions. Now, please tell how to prevent the collapse of this world, Guardian," Noel spoke softly.
"...."
The Guardian remained silent for a mont before speaking in a quiet voice, "To repair this world, you need to have sufficient resolve, the resolve of your own despair. Are you ready for this? Lord of Light."
