It was a long, long ti ago.

So distant that it felt unreal to Stella.

Back then, as a child, she lived in a beautiful estate.

By her side was a strict yet gentle father, a kind mother, and a vast, beautiful garden.

Playing in the garden every day was the thing Stella loved most during that ti.

It was in those days that Stella t the person she was destined to encounter.

"Hey, hello!"

On a sunny afternoon, a boy climbed over the back wall of the garden and appeared before her, wearing a playful smile.

He spoke softly, "My na is Garlos. I live nearby. Can we be friends?"

At first, she was indeed frightened, because to a young Stella, a child who could climb over a wall several ters high seed incredibly impressive.

But after regaining her composure, Stella, without hesitation, rejected him.

After all, he seed too suspicious.

However, as ti passed, the two eventually beca friends.

Garlos was like a calm, serene lake, accepting Stella in all her ways.

Whether it was her capriciousness or her tenderness, Garlos, with his gentle smile, embraced them all without complaint.

Those days were the happiest mories Stella had in the twenty years of her life.

But... the gods always have such a cruel sense of humor.

Just when Stella was at her happiest, disaster struck without warning.

A group of bandits, among them top-tier thieves mixed with a few powerful magicians, attacked the village where Stella and Garlos lived.

They ravaged and killed without rcy.

As one of the wealthier families in the village, Stella’s ho beca a primary target.

A brilliant yet cruel fla completely destroyed her house.

Why?

Why did it have to co to this?

The young Stella stared blankly at everything around her.

She didn’t understand why things had developed this way.

So, she didn’t move, even when the bandit’s blade was almost upon her.

Stella still didn’t move.

In the end, Stella didn’t die under that blade.

In that critical mont, Garlos arrived, wielding a small knife, and drove it straight into the bandit’s heart from behind.

"I will protect you, I promise!" Garlos said, his voice filled with blood and trembling with fear.

Despite his frail body, his tone was unwavering, filled with absolute determination.

With Garlos’ efforts, the two of them managed to escape the village.

The bandits, busy with their plundering, made a montary lapse in attention, which allowed Garlos and Stella to break through the encirclent.

But that didn’t an they were safe yet.

Because the bandits would not spare any survivor.

Every escaped prisoner could lead to the kingdom’s pursuing army, and they wouldn’t take that risk.

Thus, the chase began.

Since they were just two children, the bandit group only sent a small team after them, focusing most of their attention on the adults who had managed to break through.

But even so, this was still an unstoppable force for Stella and Garlos.

Using their familiarity with the terrain, Garlos and Stella managed to shake off the bandits ti and ti again.

However, for two children, escaping was still too difficult.

In one encounter, the two were finally driven to the edge of despair.

Stella still clearly rembers.

At that ti, Stella and Garlos were on the brink of death.

Crimson blood spilled from Garlos’ abdon and her own body, staining the green grass a vivid red.

The color was both beautiful and brutal.

The snarling faces of the bandits gradually faded into the distance, her head grew heavier, and her consciousness began to dissipate.

Die?

Is this how it ends?

All the thoughts in Stella’s mind were gradually drained away, and everything before her beca blurry.

Coldness and darkness spread across her body.

But even so, Stella could still feel the warmth of Garlos’ hand tightly gripping hers.

That was the only warmth Stella could feel.

(If I were to die like this, with Garlos... maybe that would be okay. If it ends like this... then it’s an ending. Although it’s a very terrible ending.)

This absurd thought flashed through Stella’s mind.

Huff. Boom.

Just as Stella’s consciousness was about to be completely engulfed by darkness, she suddenly heard a strange sound, like the whisper of the wind, followed by a muffled thud as sothing fell to the ground.

Stella struggled to open her eyes, but she could only vaguely see a figure slowly approaching her.

"Does it hurt?"

A ethereal voice reached Stella’s ears, so soft that she almost thought it was just a hallucination of her own making.

"Such interesting eyes, full of hope for life yet also filled with an anticipation for death. Eyes like this, I’ve never seen before, and now I see two in one place. It truly fascinates ."

The voice rose slightly, showing the speaker’s curiosity, and then Stella couldn’t quite hear the rest of what was said...

When she opened her eyes again, the only thing she was certain of was that she was still alive.

"Where is this?"

"The Dark Demon Castle... this is my ho." The ethereal voice clearly rang in her ears.

Stella looked up, and what she saw was an incredibly beautiful young woman.

"If you’re wondering where that boy is, don’t worry, he’s in the room next door," the girl seed to understand the question Stella was about to ask and spoke first.

The question she wanted to ask was answered before she could say anything, leaving Stella a little disoriented and slightly embarrassed, frozen in place.

She didn’t know how to act.

Noticing Stella’s awkwardness, the girl let out a light laugh, like the sound of silver bells, and slowly walked to Stella’s side.

Her sea-blue, beautiful pupils t Stella’s gaze, and with a soft smile, she spoke, "Let introduce myself. My na is Lia. I’m very interested in you and the boy you’re with. I hope you both can help ."

"What do you want to do?" Stella asked instinctively, without much thought.

The girl nad Lia revealed a smile that Stella would never forget in her life—a smile filled with confidence, longing, and a barely noticeable hint of sadness.

She spoke, "I want to create a new world, one without sorrow, without harm—a completely new world."

And that, for Stella, was the beginning of sothing new.
