High above a canyon sowhere on the continent, the sky had been shrouded in dark clouds all year round ever since a few years ago.
Since then, this place had beco a forbidden zone—anyone who ventured inside would inevitably lose their way.
However, if soone were to fly high into the sky, they would be shocked to discover a massive castle floating at an altitude of thirty thousand ters.
The castle bore the appearance of a dieval fortress, with a black color sche and towering walls surrounding its entirety, exuding an aura of majesty and mystery.
Strange black clouds swirled around it, making the entire structure appear as though it flickered in and out of existence.
This castle was none other than the headquarters of the Dark Guild Demon God's Soul, one of the four great powers of the Balam Alliance—Dark Demon Castle.
The Magic Council had spent years attempting to locate the headquarters of Demon God's Soul, only to fail ti and again.
The reason? Their base was never on land—it had always been floating in the sky.
In the castle's courtyard, a brown-cloaked figure strolled leisurely.
If Noel were present, he would have imdiately recognized this person as none other than Garlos, the Throne of the Void—one of the Seven Thrones of Demon God's Soul—whom he had previously encountered in the ruins of the Moon Goddess's Temple.
"You seem to be in a good mood, Garlos," a lazy voice suddenly drifted into the ears of the relaxed man.
Garlos looked up and saw a boy with green hair, around fourteen or fifteen years old, leaning against a second-floor window, peering down with curiosity.
His youthful face held a certain delicate charm.
"Oh, Dylan." Garlos greeted him with a smile.
The boy called Dylan leaped down from the second floor, landing right in front of Garlos. "Hey, hey, Garlos! What's up? You seem really happy. Weren't you sent on a mission by Master? Did sothing interesting happen while you were carrying it out?" Dylan asked excitedly, his curiosity piqued.
Garlos crossed his arms and looked at Dylan, who had an utterly adorable "Co on, tell already!" expression on his face.
Unable to resist, he reached out and ruffled the boy's green hair before finally speaking. "Haha, well, I suppose it's good news. I actually t His Majesty Nord in person, Dylan."
"Eh?!" Dylan's face lit up with excitent. "No way! You actually saw His Majesty Nord?! What kind of person is he? What was he like? I'm so curious! I've never seen him before—well, not in person, at least!"
"Hmm..." Garlos stroked his chin thoughtfully. "How should I put it... His Majesty Nord's presence is indeed overwhelming. I could clearly sense the terrifying power within him—sothing different from Master, yet existing on the sa level. However, just like the reports said, it seems that he has suffered so serious injuries, preventing him from using that power. Even when I deliberately revealed my space magic, he didn't use that power to stop from leaving."
"Ehh~" Dylan dragged out his response, sounding disappointed. "Seriously? I was kind of hoping His Majesty Nord had beaten you up, and that's why you looked so happy!"
Garlos' mouth twitched a few tis upon hearing such an outrageous statent.
After processing it for a mont, he suddenly shouted, "Wait, hold on, Dylan! Are you seriously implying that in your eyes, I'm the kind of pervert who actually enjoys getting beaten up?!"
"Uh... aren't you?" Dylan blinked at him in confusion. "I an, if that weren't the case, then why do you keep provoking Stella even though you're way stronger than her? Every ti she beats you up, you never fight back. You just laugh while getting chased around!"
"Haha... Hehehe... Well, you see, there are many complicated reasons for that..." Garlos, who had been brimming with confidence just monts ago, suddenly turned his head to the side, letting out an awkward laugh in response to Dylan's question.
Then, as if trying to change the subject, he quickly continued, "Oh right, I need to go see Master. Dylan, do you want to co with ?"
Hearing this, Dylan frantically shook his head. "No way! If Master sees and suddenly gets the urge to assign a mission, that'd be a total pain! I think I'll just go back to my room and sleep instead."
With that, Dylan leaped back up into the sa window he had first appeared in.
Before long, Garlos, with his sharp senses, could hear the faint, steady sound of breathing coming from the second-floor window.
"Sigh... Dylan is really lazy. If he keeps slacking off like this, when will he ever grow up? That kid is such a handful..." Garlos let out a helpless smile before stepping into the castle.

"You have returned, Garlos?"
In a dark great hall, a floating crystal ball spoke in a cold, emotionless voice, devoid of any discernible gender, addressing Garlos, who was kneeling on one knee.
"Yes, Master. I have retrieved the item you requested." Garlos responded respectfully, holding up with both hands a rectangular white crystal about the size of a palm.
The crystal had a hollow indentation resembling a keyhole. "This is the Lock of the Gate from the secret chamber of the Moon Goddess's Palace."
"As expected, I was right. The Lock of the Gate was indeed in the hands of the Moon Goddess. You have done well, Garlos. Now, only the whereabouts of the Key remain unknown. Once we find the last Key, we will have gathered all the necessary components to complete that object. You have worked hard. Is there anything else you wish to report, Garlos?" The crystal ball spoke, as if sensing his hesitation.
"In fact... while carrying out the mission in the secret chamber of the Moon Goddess's Palace on Galuna Island, I encountered His Majesty Nord, who had also entered the palace..." Garlos said softly.
The floating crystal ball flickered slightly at these words but remained silent.
"Just as our intelligence suggested, although our encounter lasted only a few minutes, due to the nature of my abilities, I could sense that His Majesty Nord's body seed to have a hidden flaw—almost as if he had suffered a severe injury. Furthermore, it appeared that he was unable to wield the sa kind of power that you possess, Master..."
"I understand. Leave it at that. Do not concern yourself with him any further." The crystal ball interrupted Garlos before he could finish speaking, its tone brooking no argunt.
"Understood." Garlos bowed his head and respectfully stepped backward, exiting the hall.
After Garlos left, the floating crystal ball flickered with an unsteady, wavering glow.
"Nord... Sooner or later, once that object is complete, we will be reunited. It won't be long now. When that ti cos, we will be together forever. And all those who have hard you, those who have deceived and led you astray—I will destroy them all! You belong to and alone. Forever and always, only mine."
A terrifying surge of energy spread throughout the dark great hall, instantly crushing everything within it into dust.
However, as soon as the energy dissipated, everything that had been destroyed miraculously reverted to its original state, as if nothing had ever happened.
"It's not enough... it's still not enough. I need more power. And to complete that... it will still take a considerable amount of ti... But when the ti cos, when that object is finally complete, it will mark the end of everything."
The floating crystal ball murmured softly in the darkness.
