"Who's there? Get out here! Stop hiding like a cowardly rat!"

Sowhere within the dense forest of Tenrou Island, a figure moving at the speed of light ca to an abrupt halt.

Returning to his original form, Noel's icy blue eyes locked onto a specific spot in the underbrush.

"Hehehe, so I've been discovered, huh? What keen perception you have." A sharp, piercing laugh echoed from within the trees before a grotesque, rooster-like creature slowly erged from the bush.

Noticing the insignia on the figure's body, Noel's pupils narrowed slightly. "That guild emblem...!"

"Hahaha! Pitiful fairies, do you recognize it now? Just as you suspect, I am Kawazu, an advance mber of Grimoire Heart, one of the four pillars of the Balam Alliance!"

"A Grimoire Heart mber? What are you doing here?" Noel's voice was calm, void of emotion.

"Our objective is..." A sinister grin spread across Kawazu's face.

"To hunt down every last fairy here!!" A deep voice suddenly thundered from behind Noel.

A powerful, razor-sharp slash filled with killing intent ca streaking toward his back. "Sever!"

Boom!

A cloud of dust erupted into the air as the figure who had attacked retreated to Kawazu's side with a smug expression.

The attacker, a samurai-clad warrior wielding a long katana, sneered as he observed the swirling dust.

"That was almost too easy, Yomazu," Kawazu comnted.

"Of course. The gap in power between Fairy Tail and Grimoire Heart is vast. This is only natural." Yomazu chuckled coldly before tilting his head slightly, as if just realizing sothing.

"By the way... who exactly was that guy we just took out?"

"Not really sure." Kawazu flapped his wings twice, making a gesture akin to shrugging.

As the two continued their conversation, a cold, emotionless voice suddenly echoed from within the dispersing dust cloud.

"What audacity... To dare trespass upon Fairy Tail's sacred ground. Grimoire Heart, do you truly understand the price of such an act? Have you prepared yourselves for the consequences?"

The voice, slightly hoarse yet laced with a chilling killing intent, sent shivers down Kawazu and Yomazu's spines.

"What?!"

As the dust settled, Noel stood before them, completely unhard.

His left eye, clear and blue, carried the biting chill of ancient ice.

"He took my strike head-on... and didn't even get a scratch?!" Yomazu's eyes widened in disbelief, cold sweat beginning to bead on his forehead.

"Damn it... Egg Barrage!" Kawazu's expression grew serious as he lifted his head and spewed a cluster of eggs into the air.

The eggs ascended for a mont before rapidly plumting, raining down on Noel like a relentless storm.

Noel remained indifferent, watching the incoming barrage with an air of calm.

Slowly, he raised his hand.

"Light's Protection."

A luminous barrier appeared above Noel, effortlessly absorbing the barrage of falling eggs.

No matter how violently they struck, they failed to even make the light shield waver.

"Hmph! Try withstanding my strongest attack! [Dark Blade – Slash – Howling Fang]!"

Yomazu roared as a massive shadowy slash materialized, surging toward Noel with imnse force.

Whoosh!

The powerful strike transford into a fierce, black wind pressure, slicing everything in its path cleanly in half.

However, Yomazu's expression only grew darker—because he could sense it.

That attack... had missed.

"You know..."

Both Yomazu and Kawazu looked up, their eyes widening as they saw Noel now standing calmly on a tree branch above them.

"I don't have ti to play with you."

Noel's lips curled into a faintly enchanting smirk, yet his eyes remained devoid of warmth.

In the next instant, his figure vanished from their sight, reappearing right in front of Yomazu before the latter could even react.

With overwhelming magical energy coursing through his leg, Noel delivered a devastating kick straight to Yomazu's abdon.

The samurai-like warrior's body bent into a bow-like shape as he spat out a mouthful of blood mixed with shredded flesh, his pupils already turning vacant and lifeless.

His body was about to be sent flying, but before he could, Noel swiftly grabbed him by the throat, halting his montum.

With a slight exertion of force, Noel rcilessly slamd Yomazu down into the ground.

Boom!

The impact was deafening as Yomazu's body was embedded into the earth, blood pooling beneath him, staining the ground red.

Kawazu, standing nearby, could clearly sense that Yomazu had completely lost consciousness—perhaps even his life.

Noel then slightly tilted his head, his tranquil blue eyes locking onto Kawazu, whose entire body was trembling in sheer terror.

Softly, he asked, "You're next, aren't you?"

"Will you surrender, or shall I do it for you?"

"M-Monster!!!"

Kawazu's entire body convulsed, cold sweat pouring down his face.

A boundless, storm-like fear consud his heart.

In his blurred vision, the Noel he saw was no longer human.

No re human could be this terrifying.

He saw not a man, but a demon cloaked in human skin, a blood-drenched Asura.

Even within Grimoire Heart, Kawazu had never encountered such an overwhelming force—not even the Seven Kin of Purgatory could so effortlessly crush Yomazu like this.

The faint sound of footsteps reached Kawazu's ears—step by step, so calm and steady, yet in his mind, it was as if he were hearing the tolling of a funeral bell.

Under the imnse pressure, Kawazu finally broke down.

His entire body trembled, and as the weight of the fear reached its breaking point, he could no longer bear it.

He turned and fled, letting out aningless, panicked screams.

"Abandoning your comrade? How unpleasant."

A chilling voice froze Kawazu in place, as if he had been encased in ice.

His entire body stiffened—he couldn't move, not even a single finger.

The next mont, he felt a trendous force grab hold of his wings, yanking him backward, while an even stronger force pinned his upper body down, rendering him completely immobile.

Under this terrifying strength, he could hear the sickening sound of his wing bones snapping.

"I think you should be able to tell everything—truthfully and in detail."

Noel's voice was calm as he spoke, his hands gripping Kawazu's wings, pulling them back while one foot pressed down on the latter's back.

"Y-Yes... I will..." Kawazu trembled as he answered.

..........

"Zeref is in a deep slumber on Tenrou Island?!"

After hearing Kawazu's explanation, Noel furrowed his brows. "Are you certain?"

"I swear! I wouldn't dare lie to you!" Kawazu frantically replied.

Noel slowly exhaled, falling into deep thought.

It sounded absurd, but strangely enough, he didn't feel that Kawazu was lying.

Because ever since he had set foot on Tenrou Island, Noel had sensed an unusual, hidden magical presence.

It was peculiar—both pure and untainted, yet at the sa ti disturbed, as if sothing was interfering with it, causing it to remain dormant.

(Could it really be... Zeref?)

Noel shook his head.

If it really was Zeref, then aside from himself, everyone else on the island would be in grave danger.

According to the legends within the magical world, Zeref was no saint.

"And also..."

Before Noel could finish his thoughts, Kawazu continued speaking. "We're only the vanguard. The main force of our guild, the Seven Kin of Purgatory, is already on their way here. In fact, one of them... is already on the island."

"What?!"

A fleeting image of st flashed through Noel's mind.

His grip tightened instinctively as he let out a cold snort.

Without hesitation, he knocked Kawazu unconscious and pulled out a signal flare.

With a swift motion, he fired it into the sky.

The red flare burst open, illuminating the heavens—a warning signal that could be seen across all of Tenrou Island.

(Red alert. This is no longer the ti for the S-Class Promotion Exam. I need to find Wendy first, then locate this so-called Zeref... and prepare for the incoming assault from Grimoire Heart.)

Just then, in the distance, a massive pillar of fire erupted into the sky.

Blazing red and golden flas surged upward like a towering inferno, roaring fiercely.

"Natsu? No... no, this isn't Natsu's fire. Nor is it the magic of anyone from the guild."

Without hesitation, Noel transford into a streak of light and shot toward the blazing flas.
