The following morning, Alia opened her eyes lazily as the bright morning sunlight sipping through the parted curtain assaulted her eyes. She slowly sat up, wincing at the pain that emanated from her lower region, a reminder of her wild but passionate night. She lifted her hand to her forehead and massaged her aching head, her throat parched and her lips a bit dry.
She slowly turned her head to her right side in search of her phone when her gaze fell on those captivating and ethereal grey eyes staring right at her with so much warmth in them.
'Wait, why is he staring at like that?' Alia was slightly puzzled. She looked down at her chest and noticed that the top half of her nude body was on free display.
"Shit!" Alia impulsively pulled the white sheets to her chest, shooting a scowl in his direction, an action he found really amusing.
"Good morning to you too, wifey," Blaze said in a soft, relaxed and sexy tone, the reminisce of the previous night's sexual healing still evident in his warm glimring eyes. He was wearing a white bathrobe and seated leisurely a few ters beside the bed.
Even though Alia thought Blaze was looking so handso and inviting in the white robe, she completely ignored him, shifting her gaze to the steaming cup of tea on a tray by her bedside. She swallowed her saliva, as the blend of mint and ginger hit her nostrils, causing her to moisten her lips.
"Is that for ?" She looked back a Blaze who was now standing and approaching her bedside.
"Yes, sweetheart," Blaze carefully lifted the tray and sat down on the bed, his tender gaze on her. "It is for you. I asked the chef to make it. It will help with the pain."
"Sweetheart?" Alia arched her brows, unperturbed by his closeness.
"Yes. Is sothing wrong with calling you sweetheart?" The tender smile remained on Blaze's face as he stared at the hickey on the left side of her neck, longing, to seep through his veins.
"Yes, everything is wrong with that," Alia said dryly picking up the mug from the tray. "I'm not your sweetheart. Let's not get carried away. This is purely business and nothing more."
"Hmm..." Blaze chuckled, his cheerful countenance unaffected. "I haven't forgotten. But for us to succeed in our plan, there are certain boundaries that we must cross to make this marriage believable. We will have to act as naturally as real couples in public. That ans I'll get to call you all sorts of intimate nas. So you have to start getting used to them, sweetheart."
"Whatever." Alia rolled her eyes at him while taking sips of the refreshing tea.
"You do not roll your eyes at , sweetheart," Blaze said in a slightly stern voice, while resting his hand on Alia's cover thigh, making her flinch a little. "I would let today's behaviour slide since I'm in such a good mood. But the next ti you do that, I'll be forced to kiss you deeply irrespective of where we are."
Alia scoffed inwardly, shifting her body away from his touch while focusing on the rejuvenating tea, enjoying the blend of flavours.
"Alia...." Blaze's voice turned all serious, the humor disappearing from his eyes. "Why didn't you tell yesterday that you were a virgin?"
Alia's face slowly turned pinkish-red in embarrassnt. She buried her face in her mug, not daring to look up at him.
"What difference would it have made?"
"A lot." Blaze felt stung by her sowhat cold response, which bore a hint of regret and slight anger. "I thought you were..." He paused not wanting to be so blunt.
"You had been withJerry for a long ti. So I thought you two were intimate."
"Well, you thought wrong." Alia didn't like where this conversation was going especially with the ntion of Jerry's na, reminding her of his betrayal. She dropped the mug on the tray and attempted to climb down from the bed on the other side. But Blaze quickly stopped her, removing the tray from the bed to prevent it tea from spilling and hurting her.
"Blaze, please, I'm not in the mood for this. My headaches, my body hurts and I have to be at work by 10:00 AM for an important eting." Alia said looking away from him, tears pulling in her eyes.
"I promise I won't take much of your ti." Blaze's tone was pleading as he slowly turned her chin to face him, deeply hurt by the tears welling up in her eyes.
"I swear, if you had told last night, I would have stopped. You have no idea how much I..." Blaze sighed, unsure what to say without hurting her deeper.
Alia stared at him intensely, believing his words. She lowered her gaze, allowing her tears to fall as she spoke from her heart.
"I was keeping it for the right mont. It's what's going to be my gift to my husband. I wanted him to be my first. But I got betrayed and I wanted to get rid of it since it reminded of my stupidity." She looked up to et his hurt gaze.
"It could have been you or any other random man. I certainly don't care. I'm done trusting or loving a man. So, you don't have to feel guilty about anything or liable for how I feel. I'm a big girl and I know what I want. I consented to it even though I didn't prepare for it last night. I still do not regret my actions."
Alia tilted her gaze sideways, more tears falling down her reddened cheeks. She hated the fact that she couldn't control her emotions or stop her tears from falling.
Blaze clenched his teeth, disgusted at himself even more. He knew Alia was not being truthful about her last statent. If she didn't regret what she did, then she won't be crying.
"I'm sorry, Alia," Blaze said softly.
Alia was stunned by his words. She couldn't believe what her ears were hearing. This was the first ti since she t him that he was genuinely saying those two magical words to her. It wasn't like the forced apology he gave her back at the restaurant to please his mother. This was more unique and very special, lting her beating heart.
Blade's next action left her completely breathless. He lifted the back of her hands to his lips and planted a soft kiss on it, almost ticking all her check boxes on her ideal type of man.
"Please, let help you take away your pain this morning. I promise I won't do any other thing. I have already prepared your warm bath."
Alia felt enthralled by his tenderness towards her. It made her feel less disgusted with herself. She held his genuine gaze and nodded her head, her heart thumping in her chest.
"Okay."
"Okay." Blaze smiled as he gently carried her out of the bed, stealing a quick disappointed glance at the blood-stained sheet as he disappeared into the bathroom.

Alia arrived at her company just in ti before the arrival of her new investor. She was in her office going through so important files when she got a call from her lawyer saying that Jerry had paid the divorce settlent fee and other compensation fees without breaking a sweat.
"Gwen!" Alia chuckled bitterly, her mood turning sour.
