After the eting with her marketing team and her managerial team, both of which lasted for roughly two hours, Alia made her way to her office for a quick snack. She was about to disappear into her office when her secretary called her attention.
"Ma'am, you had an unscheduled visitor waiting downstairs at the reception to see you."
"A visitor?" Alia halted, her hand on her office door knob. "Who is this visitor?"
Alia was asking when her phone started ringing with an international number flashing on her screen.
"He is..."
Alia raised her right hand up, cutting her secretary off, giving a nonverbal signal that she would talk to her later. She swiped the received button on her phone, her heart hamring in her chest as she could guess who was calling.
With a shaky hand, she brought the phone to her ear and said...
"Hello...."
"Hi, sweetie..."
"Blaze..." Alia cupped her mouth from screaming his na, her eyes lit with excitent and happiness. She didn't bother to get the na of her unscheduled visitor as she hurried into her office and closed the door behind her.
"Am I calling at the wrong ti?"
"No...not at all. We can talk. How are you?" Alia asked, as she made her way to her executive swivel chair and sat down.
"I'm okay? I'm just missing you." Blaze's soft and sexy baritone voice filled Alia with intense longing and warmth.
"Not as much as I miss you, darling. Tell have you spoken to your chief warden? Have you gotten a date for the visit?"
"Yes, darling."
"When!"
"Anyti that is convenient for you."
"Really!" Alia abruptly jumped to her feet, her eyes twinkling like little diamond stars.
"Yes, baby."
"How about now?" Alia hurriedly moved away from her seat, already picking up her handbag in readiness to leave. "I could go to the airport right now and chatter a private jet that will take straight to your location. We could be together before nightfall and..."
"Slow down, sweetheart." Blaze was chuckling from the other end.
"I don't want to. I just want to see you." Alia pouted, her heart drumming with imnse happiness.
"Are you seated?"
"No, I'm about to leave the office for the airport."
"How about you sit down first and let's put heads together."
"Fine!" Alia returned to her seat still pouting. "Alright, I'm listening."
"That's my girl."
Alia giggled like a child being tickled as Blaze blew a kiss to her over the phone.
"About the trip, as much as I want to see you right now, I think tomorrow is more logical than today. You have a business to run and you have our unborn baby to consider. It would be unfair to just put you on a flight without prior preparation. Moreover, I wouldn't want you to co all by yourself. I want Mom and Henry to accompany you. We also have to consider them too."
Alia sighed. "You have a point."
"So... tomorrow..."
"Yes, baby. I can't wait to see you tomorrow."
" too. I hope you don't get disappointed by my look."
"I don't care what you look like, as long as I can hold you in my arms." Alia bit down on her lips to stifle a sob.
"By the way, I spoke to Mom earlier and I got an update on your visit to your dad's. You did great."
"Thanks, baby." Alia let out another deep sigh, leaning her back on her seat. "I hope my dad gets to see them for who they really are before they wreak another major havoc."
"He will, especially with the juicy bait I have just set in motion."
"Juicy bait!" Alia sat up, her eyes widening.
"Yes, baby. I'm guessing you're yet to interact with your unscheduled visitor."
"Visitor?" Alia's gaze shifted to the door as she recalled Rebecca's earlier report.
"Yes. He's an old mutual friend of ours and he is there to pay his debt. I sent him over to you. Speak with him and officially absorb him into LiLa Savvy as the company Broker for six months. He is going to be a key elent in our ga plan."
"Okay." Alia exhaled through her mouth, her heart pounding even louder.
"Don't overthink it, darling. I have everything under control. We are in this together. I will talk to you in detail tomorrow when I see you. I love you."
"I love you, more." Alia blew kisses over the phone before the call finally disconnected. Taking a deep breath, she stood up and strolled over to her mini fridge to get a bottle of water.
After quenching her thirst and indulging in a little snack to sate her hunger, Alia reached out for her intercom and dialed her secretary's desk.
"Rebecca, you said I have a visitor right?"
"Yes, ma'am."
"Send the person to my office."
Alia waited breathlessly for this mutual friend, with a heavy debt to settle, to walk in through her door. Her mind was spinning fast like a kaleidoscope as she tried to second guess who the mutual male friend was.
Just then, a knock followed by a low creaking sound caused Alia's gaze to snap up at the door.
Her secretary walked in with a polite smile plastering her face.
"Ma'am he's here."
"Bring him in." Alia maintained a cold and authoritative deanour until the so-called visitor walked through the door.
"Mr Young!" Alia's jaws dropped.
Tyler walked through the door, looking dapper and handso in his well-fitted, double-breasted navy blue suit, paired with a tan and coffee brown sleek leather shoe that complinted his patterned tie. He moved gracefully across the office to Alia's desk, his once flirtatious deanour all gone.
All that oozed out of him was respect and reverence for the dignified wife of Blaze Anderson, the man who almost ended his life.
"Ma'am, would you be needing any other thing?" Rebecca asked, noting the alard look in Alia's eyes.
"Umm...no Rebecca." Alia waved her hand dismissively. "I'll call you when I need you."
"Okay, ma'am." Rebecca briskly left and closed the door behind her.
"Mrs Anderson, let start by expressing my deepest apology for the way I behaved that night at the fashion show. It was highly unprofessional and it was rude of to insult your husband. I hope I can make ands for my grave mistake by this new partnership." Tyler extended his right hand towards her.
Alia inhaled deeply, regaining her lost composure. She shook his hand briefly, her expression devoid of resentnt.
"It's now in the past, Mr Young. I believe we have all learned our lessons. Please have a seat and let's discuss your future in this company."
"Thank you, Ma'am."
