At the Andex group of companies, Blaze had arrived an hour after noon. His secretary sat from across his desk, head lowered and eyes glued to her iPad, taking down notes while he gave directives.
A small pile of folders were stacked on his desk, awaiting his signature. But his attention seed focused on a particular docunt he received so minutes ago after his arrival.
"Have my eting with the chairman of Wikason enterprise rescheduled for tomorrow by 10:00 AM."
"Yes sir." Nora Jas, a young and smartly dressed lady in a well-fitted royal blue skirt suit, nodded her head, her slick ponytail bouncing in captivating waves.
For the first ti, Nora was very composed before her boss. She wasn't fidgeting or sweating in her palm as always. This was due to her boss's slightly cheerful mood which had rubbed off positively on her and everyone who had crossed his path.
Though strange, Nora couldn't believe that her cold and stone-faced boss was capable of talking softly. She couldn't guess what had prompted this unusual calmness in him. But whatever it was, she prayed for it to continue.
"Make an appointnt with Thompson Cabolt for 3:00 PM at the Kold lounge. Tell him that if he shows up a minute late, he can consider the deal off."
"Yes sir."
"Have the Ponchi Blooming Garden send a captivating red tulip bouquet to Haris tea parlour at 2:00 PM."
A thin smile crossed Nora's lips as she lifted her head and said, "Sir, I learnt an hour ago that Mrs Anderson has cancelled her reservation at the Haris tea parlour for today."
"She has?" A crease appeared on Blaze's forehead.
"Yes sir. I called to confirm the ti of her arrival with her friends when I got the information."
Blaze was confused. His mother never misses her Monday tea appointnt at the Haris with her friends. What could have gone wrong? He was tempted to call his mother but he wasn't in the mood for her lengthy conversation and pork nosing.
"Send the contact of the Haris tea parlour manager, now."
"Yes sir." Naro quickly picked up her phone resting on the desk and scrolled through her call history for the particular contact. "Sent sir."
"Hmm...." Blaze slowly spun backwards on his swivel executive chair as he dialed the manager's number. He stood up and strode to the magnificent floor-to-ceiling windows in his luxury executive office, his mind temporarily drifting away to that brief but spectacular mont in the limousine with Alia.
He could feel his heart racing again as he pictured her pretty eyes glimring with sothing strange and alluring before she crashed those really soft and full lips on his. He could still taste her cherry-flavoured lipstick even after hours of being away from her.
The pretty little wild cat had simply taken his breath away with that daring yet refreshing and sensual kiss. It has awoken a hungry beast in him, one that craved madly for those soft lips. She had stolen sothing from him and he desperately wanted it back. Only a bittersweet retaliation would atone for her cri.
Blaze was so lost in his thoughts staring down the busy street below, unaware that the line had connected until a deep male voice said,
"Hello."
"Yes...is this the manager of Haris tea parlour on the line?"
"Speaking."
"This is Blaze Anderson of the Andex group of company."
"Oh...Mr Anderson. It's such a privilege to speak with you, Sir. How may we be of service to you, Sir?" The initial coldness and pride in the manager's voice were replaced with fear and reverence.
"I'm calling about a reservation my mom made with her friends for 2:00 PM. Why was it canceled? Have you been slacking in your services?"
"Oh no, sir. We treat all our clients especially, our VIP clients with the best. Our services are nothing short of exceptional. Madam Anderson only cancelled today's reservation because according to her, one of her friends, Mrs Patricia Smith, wanted to host the tea party at her residence."
"Oh...thank you."
"You're welco, sir. May we interest you in..."
Blaze disconnected the call and turned to face Nora.
"Find out the residence of Mrs Patricia Smith and have the red tulip bouquet sent to the address."
"Okay, sir."
"That will be all, for now," Blaze said dismissively.
"Yes, sir." Nora stood up to leave when she recalled sothing. "Sir, concerning the Oly Yacht acquisition, we gathered that a recent buyer who goes by the na of Mr Fletcher Addams of the Addams Kraft company was making a bid of one hundred million dollars with Miss Gwen Shawls earlier today."
Blaze's gaze slowly turned cold and vicious, causing Nora to flinch a bit.
"So the fool wants to dance with the devil," Blaze said more to himself as he took a long and elegant stride back to his seat. "You can leave Nora. I'll take care of it." He waved his hand as he picked up his mobile phone.
Scrolling through his phone contacts, Blaze watched as Nora slowly shut the door behind him before dialing a secured line.
"Sir." A cold and dangerous voice echoed from the other end.
"Are you aware of Fletcher Addams's move?"
"Yes, sir. We are already on it. We have been gathering enough dirt on him and we are about to strike. We have alerted the IRS forensic accounting departnt to the ongoing internal embezzlent, fraud and tax evasion at the company. It's only a matter of hours before Addams Kraft is placed on the chopping block. By the ti the IRS is done with Addams Kraft, they would have no penny to continue operation."
"Good. Make that happen in three days. I want Fletcher Addams' reputation destroyed and that company bought over by Andex group."
"Consider it done sir."
Blaze hung up, a devilish grin spreading across his face. He placed his phone aside, turning his attention back to the docunt he was assessing earlier. Feeling satisfied with the contract drafted out by his lawyer, he picked up his customized black ball pen and appended his signature at the bottom left corner of the docunt.
