More than an hour later, Alia ca out of her room looking refreshed and changed. She wasn't expecting to see her husband around after the way she humiliated him a while ago. But there he was, seated in the sa spot like a persistent and stubborn donkey on a mission.

He was looking completely drained of life as he sat there, staring blankly at the wall opposite, leaning his head on his fist. His posture was as though he was carrying the entire weight of the world on his shoulder.

If Alia didn't know better, she would say sothing else was eating her husband up. Surely he wasn't acting this way because of the things she said to him.

"Why should I care?" Alia mused under her breath, stifling every bud of sympathy sprouting in her heart. She hardened her face and walked past him, as though he were a statue, disappearing into her father's room.

Blaze's hollow eyes trailed Alia until she was out of sight. He released a sigh of frustration while massaging his throbbing forehead. His eyes were heavy and his body was tired.

But the last thing on his mind was rest. Not with his mother lying lifeless in that hospital on a life support machine or his wife despising him for his foolishness.

Rest would have to wait.

The sight of Eugene approaching ahead brought a faint smile to his tired face.

At least now he can go over to be with his mother while Eugene stays with Alia.

After leaving the Villa in a disguised look, Henry stopped by at the city general hospital to check on Blaze and his mother. He didn't prepare himself for what he was about to see as he gained access to the intensive care unit where Maria was being held, introducing himself as her second son.

Blaze who had arrived an hour ago was seated beside his mother, holding and stroking her frail hand. His head was lowered and his shoulders were slumped. He only lifted his head briefly when the door to the room was pushed open.

Henry slowly walked into the room, his mouth hanging open and his eyes slightly widened at the sight of the once bubbly Maria, strapped to different beeping dical gadgets and tubes. She was like a sleeping dead.

"Hey, bro." Blaze carefully dropped his mom's hand before standing up to receive his friend.

"Hey!" Henry shook hands with him briefly, patting him on the shoulder. "I'm so sorry, bro. I didn't know it was this bad."

"It's okay. We can only hope for the best right?" Blaze smiled bitterly, his eyes reddened from silently shed tears.

"Right."

They both remained silent for a while watching Maria's peaceful face, before exiting the room together to the reception room, where they both sat down.

"How are you holding up?" Henry asked noticing the dark circle under Blaze's dull eyes and his slightly unkempt look.

"I managing."

"You know, you don't have to do this all by yourself, right? You need so rest too." Henry pointed out.

"I know. I'll go ho to shower once my aunt arrives, Her flight is currently been delayed."

"Oh, Okay. But just know that I'm here for you too." Henry reassured him.

"I know. Thanks, man."

"By the way, how did he go with Alia yesterday?"

"Not good." Blaze let out a sigh of frustration. "She can't stand right now."

"Just give her ti, she will co around," Henry said after listening to his friend share his pitiful story.

"I hope so."

"Have you told her about your mom?"

"No." Blaze shook his head, a deep sigh escaping his lips again.

"Why?" Henry's forehead furrowed.

"Because I've already stressed her enough by sending her father to the hospital. I don't want her worrying about my mom's condition. I want her to focus on her dad's recovery while I take care of other things."

"I don't think it's wise keeping this away from her. You know how inseparable Alia is from your mom. You should tell her." Henry insisted.

"And then what?" Blaze turned to look at Henry, tears gathering at the corner of his eyes. "Have her lose consciousness again. She is very fragile right now. I can't bear to watch her suffer than she's already doing. I've hurt her too much and I don't want to add to it."

"But this is not your fault?" Henry persisted.

"On the contrary, it is." Blaze's voice quivered with agonizing grief, his face clenching and his muscles as tough as iron. "If I hadn't been so foolish chasing after my own shadows and falling prey to the trap that b*tch had set for , my mom wouldn't have been in the state."

Henry's forehead furrowed as a na crossed his mind.

"Please, don't tell this is all of Tina doing."

"She is the tramp behind the emails." Blaze's gaze darkened as he imagined all the things he would do to her and everyone she loved for putting his mom in this state.

"Tina sent the emails to you and Alia's father?" Anger slowly coursed through Henry's vein like an angry serpent, as the sting of Blaze's earlier punches burned afresh under his skin.

"She didn't just send the emails, but she had us fild while we were fighting. She had followed and had my wife monitored just for her sick pleasure."

Henry's fuming gaze slowly shifted away from Blaze, as the events of the previous day flashed across his eyes, Alia hospitalize, her father dislocating his hips and fracturing a bone, Blaze punching the hell out of him and now Maria in a coma all because of one person's ddling.

"Tina has gone too far. She needs to be taught a lesson." Henry finally spoke up in a vengeful tone.

"I'm already on it." Blaze's deanour turned vicious and apoplectic as he made a solemn vow.

"I'm going to take everything she loves and values away from her grasp slowly and painfully. I'm going to make her feel hurt like she had never felt in her entire life. When I am done with her she would wish she had never been born."

"You have my one hundred percent support in this. I think it's ti to put her when she belongs." Henry said, standing up.

"Are you leaving so soon?" Blaze asked, observing Henry's vibrating phone.

"Yes. Your wife called earlier and she begged to co down to the hospital to see her."

"She did?" The anger in Blaze's eyes suddenly lted and was replaced with warmness and hope.

"Yes, she's the one calling again." Henry showed Blaze his phone screen.

"You saved my wife's number as, 'My crush'." Blaze's fist clenched, his eyes blazing afresh.

"You had better calm that fire in your eyes man." Henry threatened amusingly. "Right now, I'm your best bet at getting your wife back. So you better treat nicely or else..."

"I swear, when this is over, I'm going to break your arm." Blaze returned Henry's threat, the scowl on his face fading.

"Not after I get back on you for my face." A wicked smirk curled up Henry's lips.

"Aren't you going to pick up the call?" Blaze asked expectantly, hoping to hear Alia's soothing voice.

"No." Henry drawled.

"What!" Blaze brow knitted together in a scowl.

"Payback is a b*tch, brother. Get used to it." Henry grinned wickedly as he made his way to the door. "Expect a beautiful package from in a few hours." He winked before leaving.
