"Who is he?" The senator stood up as the strange-looking young man walked in, holding a hand luggage in one hand and a cowboy hat in the other hand.

Before Eugene could answer the senator's question, Henry beat him to it.

"Good day, Senator. It's a pleasure to finally et you. I am Henry Gordon, a very good friend of your daughter." Henry said, putting his suitcase aside as he walked up to the senator, his right hand stretched towards him for a handshake, and a polite smile framing his face.

"Henry Gordon! As in the sa Henry who is the best friend to my daughter's husband?" The senator asked, taking Henry's hand in a firm handshake while scrutinizing him from head to toe, wondering if he was the sa man in the picture.

"The very sa one, sir. I feel humble that you know that well. Alia must have said good things about ." Henry's lips curled up slightly, his gaze shifting to Alia, who was looking so peaceful like a sleeping beauty in her slumber. "By the way, how is she?"

"My daughter.is fine and thanks for asking. But please permit to ask you a question." Senator Gregory said, masking his anxiety with a warm smile. "Does your friend know that you are here?"

"Blaze!" Henry raised a brow and the senator nodded. "No. Blaze doesn't know that I am here. He doesn't even know that I have arrived in town because he has not been taking his calls. Eugene is not even sure of his current location. But he did say Blaze might be on his way here, right, Eugene?" He asked, his quizzical gaze shifting to Eugene.

"Yes. We spoke like forty minutes ago and he asked for this hospital address before hanging up. I'm guessing he should be here any mont"

"What!" The senator's pupils dilated in horror.

Henry's forehead furrowed at the senator's weird exclamation.

"Is sothing the matter, senator?"

"Mr Henry, thank you for coming but I think you need to leave right now." Senator Gregory said gesturing towards the door.

"Excuse ?" Henry frowned. "Have I done or said sothing wrong?"

"No. But please leave. It is for your own good."

"My own good? I don't understand what you an by that statent senator. Is sothing the matter?"

"Let's talk outside."

The urgency in the senator's voice and the panic in his eyes told Henry that all wasn't well.

"Uncle, what's wrong?" Eugene asked, worried by Alia's father's weird behavior.

"Nothing Eugene. But please stay here with my daughter while I speak to Mr Henry outside." Senator Gregory pleaded.

Eugene's shoulder slumped, a crease appearing on his forehead. He didn't like the way everyone was treating him like a kid, always excusing him out of every conversation. But he didn't argue with the senator. He simply nodded and watched the two n leave the room, with Henry picking up his belongings.

Outside Alia's room, Senator Gregory led Henry to the far end of the hall to prevent Alia's bodyguard from eavesdropping on them.

"Senator, may I ask what all of this is about? You are acting a bit strange." Henry noted when they stopped moving.

"Are you aware that my daughter is pregnant?" Senator Gregory said in a hushed voice as if soone was straining to listen to them.

"Pregnant!" Henry's eyes widened like a saucer. "Alia is pregnant!"

Seeing the surprise in the young man's eye, the senator said, "I will take that as a no." He brought out his phone and scrolled over to his gallery while Henry watched him in confusion.

"Do you recognize this picture?" Senator Gregory tapped on a picture, zooming in.

Henry took one glance at the picture and smiled. "Yes, I do. But how did you get this picture? I didn't rember either of us taking this picture or asking anyone to do so."

"Well, there's a problem Mr Henry." Senator Gregory placed his hand over Henry's shoulder, his head slightly lowered as he explained things in a hushed voice.

"Soone took a picture of you and my daughter while you were both coming out of a restaurant. This picture alongside an audio recording exposing my daughter's pregnancy, points to you as her lover and the man responsible for it."

"What!" Henry's jaw dropped, his eyes almost bulging out of its socket and his free hands flying to his chest in utter bewildernt. He was in disbelief for a mont thinking the senator was making an expensive joke. But the seriousness in the senator's eyes told him that he ant business.

"That's preposterous! Who would do such a thing? Alia and I are simply friends and nothing more. I have never touched her inappropriately, talk less of sleeping with her or getting her pregnant. What sick and dented person would spread such rumours and lies?"

"It beats my imagination how people can be so callous while trying to defa an innocent young woman." The senator paused for a minute as if contemplating before adding."Moreover, my daughter has explained everything to . She has confird her pregnancy to saying Blaze is the one responsible for it and I believe her one hundred percent."

" too." Henry concurred with the senator's last statent. "Alia is a virtuous woman and only a moron will believe such lies."

"Although, there is a slight problem. Alia hasn't told her husband about her pregnancy as we speak."

"She hasn't told him?" Henry was double stunned, now fully understanding the senator's dilemma.

"No, she hasn't." The senator shook his head, his gaze dropping. "I'm afraid he may have seen this picture and listened to this audio ssage. If that has already happened then things could get complicated with you around and my daughter currently asleep."

"Oh...I see..." Henry finally got the picture, nodding his head slowly.

"It is in my opinion that you leave for now and let address this issue with Blaze. When everything is sorted out, I will personally call you to co around."

"Okay, let have your number."

Unknown to both n - who were busy exchanging numbers and shaking hands, with their backs turned to the hall entrance, - Blaze slowly made his way through the entrance door, his countenance sullen and gloomy. He had just spotted Pascal in front of one of the hospital rooms when he noticed two familiar figures up ahead.

Their current posture with the senator shaking hands with Henry while patting him on the shoulder, painted a compromising picture that fuelled Blaze's initial jealousy and rage.

And like the saying goes: jealousy and rage are the perfect catalyst for disaster.
