"Impossible!" Regina cried out.

"Jerry!" Gwen cupped her lips with both hands.

"Is this video streaming live?" Matt demanded looking in his brother's direction without getting the slightest response.

"How did they get him?" Desmond demanded.

The murmuring and exclamation continued for a few seconds until Gwen suddenly rose to her feet, standing up straight on her bandaged leg, forgetting to lean on her walking stick.

"Where is my husband?" Gwen yelled pointing her finger at Alia, while moving away from her seat, ignoring her mother who was trying to get her to sit down. "What have you done to him? Did you kidnap him all this while we have been looking for him?"

"Kidnap. Such a fancy word. Why don't you listen to what he has to say first before you go all sentintal." Alia said in an aloof voice.

"Gwen, I can see your twisted ankle has magically gotten better." The senator said in a harsh tone, indirectly informing her that he knew she was faking it.

Gwen thought about continuing with her act. But everyone including her disappointed mother was staring at her bandaged leg. It would only appear stupid to continue with the pretence.

"Oh, Dad. It all thanks to you." She smiled sheepishly, wishing the ground would open and swallow her whole.

The senator flashed her a disappointed glare.

"Get back to your seat. You and I have a lot to talk about."

"Y...yes Daddy." Gwen lowered her head as she returned to her seat beside her mother.

"You are such a disgrace," Regina muttered under her breath while pretending to sympathize with her daughter. But there was no ti to reprimand her daughter as Jerry's quivering deep voice echoed inside the room, silence all murmuring.

"My na is Jerry Morgan and I am here to confess to the cri involving the abduction and attempted assassination of my ex-fiancee, Alia Shawls Anderson, on the eve before her wedding to ."

"What!"

"Good lord!"

"Sweet heaven!"

"Is he for real"

Different exclamation erupted from different sides of the table. But it was replaced by another wave of silence as Jerry vomited the next words.

"This cri was not carried out by myself alone. It was spearheaded by five mbers of the Shawls' imdiate and extended family plus the senator's head of security. Lin Fox."

"Lin Fox!" Matt's wife exclaid out loud, causing her husband to almost choke on his saliva.

All pairs of eyes seated around the table turned to the dark-haired lady in a pink dress, whose face was flushed with rage.

"Lies!" Lin half scread standing up. She turned to the senator, wearing a confused and pleading expression.

"Senator, I swear, I have nothing to do with this."

The video was temporarily paused as Lin tried to untangle herself from the sticky web spun by Jerry.

"The man in that video is a scoundrel on the run for so many cris. He is a filthy liar. You saw what he did to go Gwen. He can't be trusted. He would say anything to save his neck even if it ans discrediting others."

"So true." Matt concurred out loud, his thoughts in chaos as he wondered why Blaze wasn't attacking the senator after the successful biker gang hit. "For all we know, Jerry could be confessing under gunpoint."

"Exactly my thoughts." Desmond supported his brother. "I can vouch for Lin. She is a credible woman and a highly trained professional, big brother. She has served you and this family for more than half a decade. You can trust her words."

Alia scoffed out loud, amused by her uncles.

"Alia, this is not funny." Matt reprimanded harshly. "You can't..."

"That is enough, Matt." Senator Gregory said in a deadpan tone, while his cold gaze remained fixed in Lin's direction. "Sit down, Lin."

"Please sir, you have to listen to . I will never concede to such a hideous cri. I'm being frad."

"I said sit down." The senator bood, slamming his fist on the table.

Blaze looked sideways to one of the n in black standing a few ters behind Lin and the man in question stepped forward. He leaned closer and whispered in a lethal voice.

"You have five seconds to sit down, lady or I will be forced to break your legs in front of these good people."

"Huh!" Lin shuddered tilting her head backwards, her heart slamming in her ear as her gaze fell on a pair of beastly brown eyes narrowed at her.

"Sit."

Lin didn't bother arguing. She knew this man ant business and she wasn't about to lose her legs over this. She decided in her heart that she would remain in denial as long as others kept their mouth shut.

Lin had barely sat down when Desmond jumped on his feet, his panicked eyes on the projected video. He was afraid his na would be called next.

"I have sothing to say, brother."

"Sit down, Desmond." Matt shot him a deadly glare.

"No, Matt. I need to clarify so things before we all get roped into this ss."

"What are you talking about, darling?" Desmond's confused and alard wife asked, looking up her him. "You aren't part of those Jerry is referring to, are you?"

"I...I...I"

"Sit down, Desmond." The senator barked furiously.

"Brother, please, do not do this. We are a family."

A shot was fired into the air, causing everyone in the room to freeze.

Matt almost peed himself as Blaze who had been silent all this while observing everyone spew rubbish stood up, a silver gun with a smoking nuzzle in his hand. He tilted his head to his wife.

"You may continue, sweetheart."

"Thank you." Alia smiled briefly at him before turning to her uncle who was still standing frozen.

"The ti for talking is over. I need everyone to sit down and allow Jerry to do the talking."

As those words left Alia's mouth, one of the n in suit standing behind Desmond, placed a hand on his shoulder, forcing him back to his seat.

The video resud playing, taking most of the extended family mbers seated by storm.
