Everything happened like a flash of lightning, taking Lorenzo by surprise.

The masked n dressed in black holding automatic firearms, appeared in the doorway like ghosts seeking retribution.

Lorenzo didn't know how these n gained access to his highly secured sanctuary. He had been very discrete and careful while conveying Alia to this place. There were a lot of trick wires surrounding the facility, making it impossible for anyone to co close without getting blown up. So how the hell did they locate him?

There was no ti for Lorenzo to ponder on these questions as he scread at the top of his voice.

Sadly, before Ivy could realize what was happening, two deadly shots were fired, in her direction.

As Ivy spun around to look at Lorenzo in slow motion, one of the bullets hit her directly on her temple and another hit her on the chest, sending her falling backwards on the bed, hands sprawled, with blood oozing from the punctured wound.

Dazed, with nowhere to run, Lorenzo did the only logical thing that ca to his head. He launched himself forward, hoping to grab Alia by the neck and use her as a human shield.

However, he didn't get to make it halfway close to Alia when he was taken down with two crippling shots in both legs, causing him to cry out in horror.

Alia and Sarah both kept their heads down shaking, terrified by the cry of anguish and pain.

Alia could feel Ivy's motionless arm resting on her back. She knew the young lady had been shot and she silently wept for her.

At that mont, she could hear a lot of boot-shuffling movents. Ivy's hand that was resting on her back was removed. Soone in the room was speaking to Lorenzo in a deep low voice and in response, Lorenzo was cursing and swearing.

Then Lorenzo's voice turned muffled as if his mouth were duct-taped.

After a while, there was complete silence in the room. But Alia could feel the dominating aura of soone close to her. She remained faced down on the bed, holding her cousin's sister protectively, her body still trembling as she waited patiently for Blaze's voice to tell her what to do next.

"Amy..."

Alia heard Blaze's soft voice call unto her. She didn't respond or react as usual as she waited for the next directive. But when she felt his gentle touch on her arm, stroking her tenderly, she slowly lifted her face from the bed to look in his direction.

"Blaze!"

"It's over, sweetheart. You're safe." Blade said, crouching beside the bed.

"We are safe!" Sarah also lifted her head up to scan the entire room. She observed the gory sight of blood stains on the bed sheet, and on the floor, a few ters from the bed. "They are gone, Aunt Alia. We are safe...." she scread for joy, hugging her dear aunt who had co all this way just to rescue her.

"Yes, we are." Alia wept for joy, her eyes locked on Blaze who was still staring right back at her. "Thank you."

"You're welco," Blaze whispered to her.

Blaze stood up straight, as one of his n walked into the room.

"Boss, we are ready."

"Take Sarah to the second chopper. I need to talk to my wife."

"Yes, boss. Miss Sarah." The hefty-looking man smiled softly at her pointing towards the door.

"Thank you, Uncle Blaze." Sarah briefly hugged him before following the friendly man out of the room.

Blaze stretched his hand towards Alia and lifted her up to her feet.

"You were really brave and courageous, and I'm so proud of you."

Overwheld with her emotions and the tears she had been holding back all this while, Alia threw herself into Blaze's open arms, crying her heart out and holding him close with no plans of letting go.

"I was so scared that I wouldn't see you again. I thought they were going to kill ."

"That will never happen," Blaze whispered, consoling her. He pulled away to scrutinize her bandaged head stroking it tenderly. "I'll make him and all those responsible for this pay dearly with their lives."

"You were with all the way?"

"Yes."

Alia observed a little dark circle under Blaze's eyes. "You haven't slept since yesterday right?"

"How can I sleep when soone is threatening my wife? I have to take care of business first then sleep can co later. Here..." Blaze brought out her hand bracelet from his pant pocket.

"Ah!" Alia gasped. "You found it! I thought I'd lost it forever." She extended her left hand as Blaze gently wore the bracelet around her wrist.

"For as long as we are together I'll make sure you never lose anything again." Blaze lifted the back of her left hand up and planted a kiss on it.

"Oh Blaze, you are so sweet and I love you so much." Alia blurted out before she could stop herself.

"What!" Blaze felt his heart pounding in his ears as he held her alard and embarrassed gaze.

"I....I... I ant to say like you." Alia gulped down the lump in her throat. "I like you so much."

Blaze chuckled, smiling to himself as he replied. "I like you too....very much." He whispered, kissing her passionately until they were both breathless.

"Let's leave this sick place."

"Okay..." Alia scanned the room briefly, her alard eyes taking notes of the blood-drenched bed sheet and the blood stains on the marble floor.

"Is he dead?" Alia asked as they left the room, with Blaze holding her close and guiding her through the winding pathway.

"Not yet. I still need him alive to get so information. Afterwards, I will slowly send him to his maker."

"What about the young lady? Is she dead?"

"Yes."

"Such a waste." Alia shook her head while massaging her chest.

"It's not your fault, Amy. I wasn't going to let her hurt you more than she had already done. She was already dood from the mont she started working for him. Moreover, you gave her several opportunities to walk away but she bluntly turned down your offer."

"Yeah!" Alia released a sigh. "I hope he suffers twice as much."

"He will." Blaze reaffird in a lethal voice.

Blaze and Alia made it out into the open where a helicopter was already waiting for them.

Alia could see Sarah from the distance waving enthusiastically. She turned to face Blaze.

"Thank you for rescuing my cousin and . You are one in a million."

"You're welco, my dear." Blaze kissed her on the forehead, taking her by surprise.

"Let's go. You still have a eting with your dad later this evening. But I have changed the venue."

"Where?" Alia looked up at him quizzically.

"Our ho."
