After Alia left the conference venue, she drove down with her husband to her company first, to pick up so important docunts and set the ball rolling for the unveiling event, before leaving with him to pick up her dress at KVibes

All through the drive down to KVibes, one of the biggest fashion houses in the southern city owned by her dearest friend Kayla, Alia's phone kept buzzing non-stop with a lot of calls and text ssages. She hardly had a mont of break as she kept receiving one call after another, smiling and accepting congratulatory ssages, her fingers interlocked with those of her darling husband, -who had canceled his entire schedule for the next two days just for her

While so of the calls ca from her wide range of friends and well-wishers, others were from so legendary beauty companies and other business establishnts offering her their maximum support for the launching of her new costic line.

At the end of one of such business-related calls, Alia could barely keep her excitent to herself as she threw herself into her husband's awaiting arms, showering every inch of his face with lots of kisses.

"Oh, Blaze... thank you... thank you....thank you...you are the best."

"The best?" Blaze raised an eyebrow at her, his lips and face covered with Alia's red lipstick mark.

Alia nuzzled him on the tip of his nose, giggling at his funny-looking face.

"You are the best when you want to be good. Thank you for everything you've done for . Words are not enough to express how grateful I am."

"You are welco, sweetheart. As long as you are happy, then I'm happy." Blaze welcod a passionate kiss from her until another call entered her phone.

"Ugh!" He grunted, not wanting to release her at that intimate mont.

"Hold on." Alia broke from the kiss and received the call without checking the caller's na.

"Hello," Alia said softly still holding Blaze's loving gaze, enthralled by his charm.

"My sweet baby girl, how are you?"

"Fine..." Alia drawled, a crease appearing on her forehead as she peeled the phone from her ear to check who the unfamiliar raspy voice belonged to. Sadly the number was not registered in her phone. She placed the call on loudspeaker and asked in a slightly stern voice.

"Who is this?"

Blaze beca curious about the caller who had disrupted her mood.

"Don't tell you have forgotten my voice so soon, or is it because of my scratchy throat? Wait a second, sobody wants to say hi. Maybe that will jingle your mory."

Alia and Blaze both listened as they overheard the sa person with a slightly masculine voice encourage another person to talk.

"No..."

"Just say hi to her. That's all."

"No, I won't until I see her face-to-face."

Alia looked up at Blaze, her heart slamming widely against her chest and her eyes widened in shock, as she instantly recognize the voice of the other person.

Blaze also recognized the senator's rigid voice over the phone bluntly refusing to speak with his daughter. He felt his own countenance slowly turn cold, forcing him to look away from Alia.

"Dad!"

Alia called in a slightly jittery voice, as she removed the conversation from speaker mode, and raised the phone to her ear, her eyes lowered.

"..."

"Dad, please talk to ."

There was silence again from her dad's end except for the caller reprimanding her dad for not speaking and calling him a stubborn mule.

'Wait a second. Only one person was bold enough to call her father a stubborn mule.' Alia thought to herself.

"Uncle Van!"

"Hey, baby girl. You got it right."

"Hi!" Alia said in a super thrilled voice, turning her face away from Blaze to look at the window, her heart pounding in her chest.

"Uncle Van!" Blaze echoed in his heart. He quickly sent this na to Echo through a coded text ssage, instructing him to find out who Uncle Van was and how he was related to Alia.

"It's so good to hear your voice darling. I have been aning to talk to you after I heard about Jerry's scandalous affair with your sister and the divorce. But your number was never reachable. How have you been?"

"Surviving and taking each day one step at a ti."

"Hmm... that's good to know. I just saw you on television. I never knew you remarried."

"Yeah, I did." Alia felt a bit awkward talking to her uncle in Blaze's presence. She didn't want him to misinterpret anything she said so she chose her words carefully, lowering her voice.

"Are you happy?"

"Yes."

"Does your husband treat you right?"

"Yes." Alia's gaze lowered as she recalled several instances when Blaze had treated her unfairly.

"Do you love him?"

Alia could feel her heart about to leap out of her chest as she slowly tilted her head to look at Blaze only to find him staring back at her. She quickly looked away, wondering if he could overhear her conversation. She shifted to the end of the seat close to the window to give them a little distance, her behaviour making Blaze chuckle inwardly.

Unknown to her, every one of her conversations was been recorded and forwarded to Blaze in real-ti. If he didn't want to listen directly to her conversation, he could read the conversation dialogue over his phone.

"Alia, are you there?"

"Yes, uncle."

"You haven't answered my last question. Do you love this man? Because your father told a lot of negative things about him and how he had warned you to stay away from him. But I am being open-minded here. You know I will always stand for you as long as you are happy."

Alia could feel her eyes gathering tears as she recalled how Van had been emotionally available for her and her father after the death of her mother. "I know, uncle."

"So tell , are you in love with him? Because only love can make people act stupidly."

"Maybe," Alia whispered almost inaudibly, her hands trembling. She didn't notice the look of shock on Blaze's face as he read her last reply, his heart thumping erratically.

"Speak louder Amy or are you in a place where you can't talk freely?"

"Yes."

"Oh... Can you give a call on this number later on when you're free to talk?"

"Okay, I'll do that."

"All right my dear. It's so nice to talk to you again. Take care of yourself for okay and stay away from trouble."

"Uncle Van, wait."

"Yes, my dear."

"Are you with Dad?"

"Yes, I'm in his office and I'm looking directly at him. You need to see his face. It's as swollen and red as an overripe tomato about to rupture."

Alia chuckled, a drop of tears escaping her moist eyes.

"Please can you tell this for ?"

"Sure! Anything."

"Tell him..." Alia paused, her overwhelming emotion suffocating her senses, as more tears stread down her face. "...tell him that I'm sorry for hurting him and for every pain he has felt over the past couple of days because of . Tell him...I love him so much and I miss him a lot...and...he ans the world to . Tell him, I'm going to make things right. All I need is his patience and understanding." She said before ending the call.
