"I'm not lying." Pearl cried out, acting the part of a bullied victim.
"I saw you too. You were harassing that young woman," said an average-height dark-haired lady holding a basket half filled with fruits and vegetables.
"Mind your own business, lousy mouth." Pearl snapped ferociously at the lady, who quickly hurried away.
"You see?" Remy gestured at Pearl while looking at the security guard. "She will drive every single custor in this food mart if you do not take necessary action."
"Shut up, you hear ." Pearl moved nacingly towards Remy but was stopped by the huge chubby security guard.
"That is enough, Ma'am. Please co with ."
"You!" Pearl glared at Remy as he waved his hand at her. "You won't get away with this humiliation. I promise."
"Bye crazy?" Remy smirked, watching the guards politely guide Pearl away.
"But I'm not done shopping for my groceries." Pearl lanted, pointing at her scantily filled basket on the floor.
"You are now."
"This is not right. You are harassing . Do you know who I am? I could make you lose your job. I demand to speak with the manager. Where is your manager?" Pearl's high high-pitched voice attracted another security guard.
"Ma'am, please bring your voice down," pleaded the second security guard. "You are making a scene. If you want to speak with the manager, I can take you to him."
"Yes... take to him. I need to report a case of harassnt by your staff." Pearl's voice trialled as she calmly followed them.
anwhile, Tina was having a hard ti, finding Alia.
She left the fresh food section and moved over to the frozen food and refrigerated item section but there was no sign of Alia or any of her bodyguards. She headed next to the dairy product departnt but it was still the sa sad story.
Hissing, she made her way to three other sections. But Alia wasn't there.
Finally, she made her way to the at and seafood departnt just in ti to see Alia leaving for the last cashier counter.
Tina briskly made her way to the counter, plastering a smile on her face as she approached Alia. However, before she could co five ters close to Alia, she was stopped by one of Alia's bodyguards.
"Where do you think you're going to?" Clay demanded in a deadpan tone.
"I just want to speak with your boss. That's all." Tina pleaded.
"She doesn't want to speak with you. Now beat it." Clay growled softly.
"Please, I beg you. I an no harm."
"I said, beat it." Clay took off his dark glasses to reveal his reddened and dangerous gaze. "I won't warn you a third ti."
Tina took a few steps backwards, staring at Alia back. She noticed so people in different queues staring at her with unhinged curiosity as if they could recognise her.
Just then Remy ca from behind her placing a hand on her shoulder.
Tina flinched, thinking it was Alia's other bodyguard even though she could see him standing beside her by the counter.
"It's ," Remy whispered.
"Oh...you scared the shit out of ." Tina turned to face Remy.
"Sorry."
"Her bodyguards wouldn't let co close to her." Tina lanted.
"How about we go outside to the parking lot and wait for her there to avoid creating a scene here."
"Yeah. Let go." Tina and Remy briskly left while Clay's narrowed and suspicious eyes followed them.
"It seems you are planning to cook a feast, ma'am." The female cashier sorting and packaging Alia's purchased groceries said beaming.
"Maybe." Alia smiled behind had wide-rim dark shades, making it difficult for anyone to recognise her on the spot. "Would you like to join in the feast?"
The female cashier's smile widened. "It would be my pleasure but I'm stuck at work. My friend is ill so I'm running two shifts. I won't close until 11:00 PM"
"Ugh... Maybe so other ti."
"Yeah."
The cashier punched in so more figures on the cash register while staring at her monitor. "Everything will cost three hundred and nine dollars, sixty-seven cents, only."
"Really!" Alia was shocked beyond words staring at the load of items in the cart. She couldn't believe groceries were this cheap when she spent thousands just for a al at her favourite restaurants.
"Yes, ma'am,"
"Wow! Your prices are amazing."
"Thank you, ma'am."
Alia brought out her black platinum credit card and gave it to the female cashier.
"Take the bill and give yourself a nice tip."
"Wow! Thank you, ma'am." The cashier was elated as she admired the black card and swiped it on the machine.
Ten minutes later, Alia was strolling towards the car park with her bodyguards by her sides and a mall attendant pushing a trolley of purchased items behind them.
When Alia spotted Tina standing a few ters away from her car, her forehead furrowed in annoyance.
"Ma'am, I'll take care of this once and for all," Pascal said moving forward.
"No." Alia placed a hand on Pascal's shoulder. Let speak to her and discharge her myself."
"Are you sure about that ma'am?"
"Yes. I won't take long."
Alia signalled for Tina to co forward, while she walked towards her.
Tina grinned inwardly as she made her way to Alia wearing a repentant look.
"Thanks for..."
"Just make it brief. I need to go ho and cook for my husband. You have one minute."
Alia's icy words hit Tina on the face like a dirty slap. She echoed each statent in her heart, suppressing her rage under a pretentious smile.
"Thanks. I just wanted to tell you how sorry I was for everything I said and did. I was blinded by my rage and jealousy. You are a good friend and I shouldn't have treated you that way or said all those hurtful words to you. We all act crazy when we are in love and I know you would do the sa if you were in my shoes."
Alia maintained an indifferent look even though she was greatly repelled by the young woman before her.
"Tina, all shoes have their sizes and I wear a perfect shoe size eight. We can NEVER fit into the sa pairs of shoes."
