Lunareio blinked.

That’s... definitely a red flag.

And the fact that it was Lilith who taught him these things... well, it only made the succubus priestess even more unnerving. Lunareio’s mind was curious about how exactly she had taught him such things, but he decided it best not to trouble his thoughts with unnecessary... perhaps disturbing thoughts.

"No thanks. Let’s be on our way."

He took a step forward, only to be halted by Gregor raising a hand dramatically—as if casting a spell or performing Shakespeare, it was hard to tell.

"Just a mont, my lord," Gregor said. He reached into his coat and pulled out... a mask.

It was deep midnight blue with white constellation markings, a full moon pressed proudly on its forehead. A demon’s face, elegant but unsettling.

"To hide your face, my lord," Gregor said, bowing his head reverently. "For I fear that a face as beautiful as yours is unworthy of being seen by re mortals."

Lunareio stared at the mask.

Then at Gregor.

Then back at the mask.

"...Yeah, I’m good."

Gregor looked like soone had kicked his puppy—or shattered his aesthetic dreams. But still, he clung to his sense of dramatic flair like a shipwrecked actor clings to the final act.

"Please," Gregor said, "I must insist."

Of course he did.

Lunareio sighed, eyes flicking to Navria, who looked suspiciously like she was holding back laughter.

He raised a hand, sighed, then muttered, "Fine."

He took the mask.

Gregor practically bead.

Of course he did.

Lunareio adjusted the mask on his face, its cold surface oddly comforting, as if it were sothing that belonged to him.

His stomach growled again, as if to remind him of the urgency at hand, but before he could comnt, Guardian’s voice echoed in his mind.

『Host, hurry up and proceed to the investigation site. Ti is critical.』

Lunareio sighed heavily, rolling his eyes behind the mask. ’I’m ready, now, let’s get this over with.’

『Understood. Activating Auto Mode.』

『Beginning analysis for necessary skill creation.』

"So, my lord," Gregor asked, stepping forward, "What mode of transportation do you wish for us to use?"

Lunareio’s eyes narrowed behind the mask as he opened his mouth to reply.

"We won’t be needing any," he said, but his voice was strongly firm, almost like it wasn’t exactly him.

Gregor blinked in confusion. "Pardon?"

Before Lunareio could explain—or make a sarcastic remark—he drove the base of his spear into the earth with a swift motion. The ground rumbled beneath them, and Guardian’s voice echoed in his head again.

『Complete. Skill created based on class specifications and necessary protocol paraters. Luminous Teleportation. 3rd Order Master S-rank Skill.』

Lunareio smirked behind the mask. "We won’t be needing any of that."

Just then, a massive blue magic circle began to form beneath his feet, its runes glowing with an otherworldly intensity.

The light was almost hypnotic, and Gregor’s mildly surprised expression twisted into one of realization.

"Oh my," he muttered, his eyes widening slightly, though he maintained his usual composure.

Lunareio’s left eye flickered purple, a sign that Guardian was taking control of his body. His voice shifted, taking on a more detached tone as he spoke.

"Luminous Teleportation."

In an instant, a beam of moonlight shot down from the sky, piercing the ground in front of him. Navria instinctively shielded her eyes from the blinding brilliance, her red irises narrowing against the light.

And then, just as quickly, it all vanished.

They were gone.

Navria lowered her hand from her eyes, still processing what had just happened.

...

Harrow and Veyrn moved steadily down the hidden passage, their footsteps barely making a sound as they descended the cliffside, both of them wearing black hoods.

"It’s almost ti," Harrow remarked, "The council will be pleased with our progress. Everything is falling into place."

Veyrn’s eyes sparkled with excitent. "You’re right," he said.

"We’ve reached the perfect point to take things to the next level." He paused for a mont, his gaze drifting toward the distant landscape, where a massive collection of black tentacles wiggled and twisted, stretching across the horizon like a living nightmare.

"With this, we can finally make our mark. The elders will finally take my words seriously."

Before Harrow could respond, a voice interrupted their thoughts.

"I wonder what you two are chatting about. Do you mind if I join in?"

Harrow’s eyes narrowed, and he instinctively took a step forward, ready for whatever was about to co.

He squinted into the distance, spotting the figure of a man ahead of them.

The stranger was tall, well-dressed in a dark blue uniform, and his presence seed almost to blend into the shadows.

Harrow’s hand instinctively went to the hilt of his weapon, but he waited to see how this encounter would unfold.

"Who are you?"

The man gave a self-assured grin, then placed one hand on his chest with a dramatic flourish. "Gregor of Cult Luminous," he said, his voice echoing with pride. "Serving under Lust of the Crescent Moon."

Veyrn’s expression darkened, a flash of recognition crossing his face. "You..." He paused, his eyes narrowing. "You’re with those crazy won? Are you her leader?"

Gregor chuckled softly. "Oh, I wouldn’t dare," he replied, his smile never faltering. "My lord is the only one who can claim such an honor."

Harrow’s aura, a dark and oppressive blackness, began to rise around him like a storm cloud, swirling ominously. He didn’t move but instead fixed Gregor with a cold gaze. "Step out of our way."

"Now."

Gregor didn’t flinch, his deanor as polite as ever. "I’m sorry, but I doubt my lord would want to do that."

Veyrn clenched his fists. "Who is this lord of yours?"

Gregor’s smile widened, but there was sothing almost unsettling in his expression. "Oh, well..."

"...he’s been watching us from up there this entire ti."

Harrow and Veyrn both looked up, their gazes instinctively shifting toward the sky. The moon hung heavy and bright above them, its silvery glow casting long shadows across the cliffs. And there, hovering just beneath the light of the moon, was a figure with white horns, wearing a dark blue and silver outfit with constellation patterns, and a blue-and-white demon mask.

It was Lunareio.

And within his mind, a voice echoed.

『Analysis complete. Both targets pose a threat to natural order. Initiating extermination...』
