68: Section 68: Companies that Risk Everything 68: Section 68: Companies that Risk Everything Jin Xin and Hai Mingzhu were emotionally prepared, thinking that even if Shen Yue saw his reflection turned into a demon in the mirror, they would try to explain it.

However, hearing Shen Yue’s response, they exchanged baffled glances.

After a while, Hai Mingzhu cautiously asked, “So, you an to say that you didn’t see your reflection in the car’s rear-view mirror, but instead saw the image of the killer?”

Her question was essentially the sa as what Shen Yue had just ntioned.

Repeating it still made it seem unbelievable to Hai Mingzhu.

Shen Yue didn’t respond imdiately but turned to Jin Xin, “Not long ago, I described the killer’s face twice.

The second ti, I said it was as if I rembered… you do rember, don’t you?”

“I found it strange at that ti.” Jin Xin frowned and said, “mory is mory, what’s with ‘it’s as if I rembered’?

I thought…

maybe you’d regained so of your mory.”

Shen Yue seed puzzled, “What do you an?”

Jin Xin coughed lightly, strangely glancing at Hai Mingzhu.

Shen Yue shook his head and said, “No need to hide it from her, she knows about my amnesia.

She’s a fast learner, definitely cut out for this line of work.”

This ti Hai Mingzhu instantly understood Shen Yue’s aning and excitedly asked, “Advisor Shen, are you saying we can work together long-term?”

“How long we can work together, that depends on you,” Jin Xing retorted, “Every case we work on is perilous; it could be dangerously fatal at any ti.

Those who have tead up with us have quickly learned that our work is playing with death, causing most of them to quit.”

Hai Mingzhu sobered up, “So, you only recruit people on a case-by-case basis; when you first saw , you recruited .

So, this is your usual thod of recruiting?”

“You’re right.” Jin Xin countered, “You didn’t honestly believe I was really appreciating you back then, did you?

At that ti, we needed a secretary from a standard company, essentially a figurehead.” Then added, rather smugly, “Now let teach you a lesson.

Having a green hand on board may seem like a disadvantage to the team’s overall experience, but it, in fact, lowers the opponent’s guard against us, thereby increasing our chances of an unexpected win.”

“What if I had died in the 13th floor then?” unsatisfied, Hai Mingzhu wondered— No wonder people didn’t want to work with you in the long-term.

This was like working for a ntally unstable company.

You were doing sothing so dangerous, why didn’t you inform ?

“Then, I’d probably have to pay you a day less.” Jin Xin made an offhand remark.

Hai Mingzhu was indignant.

“Alright, stop teasing her,” Shen Yue diated.

“Jin Xin is always like this, Miss Hai.

We didn’t expect to work with you long-term or have the test from Titan Industries co so soon.”

Hai Mingzhu chuckled, “I’m not mad at all.

I just pretended to be upset so that President Jin would speak more.

Otherwise, he always holds his cards too close to his chest.”

Jin Xin sighed, “Shen Yue, that’s the thing with you.

You may look cold, but you are warm-hearted.

You can’t let the young lady think that this is a ga, that it is fun.

You should make her aware of the real danger.”

Exposing the concealed bulletproof vest under his shirt, Jin Xin said, “Getting this bulletproof vest was harder than getting a royal tailor-made suit.

Missy, if you are to work with us long-term, I can’t afford to buy you a vest.

If you’re afraid of dying, better leave early.

Rest assured, with Shen Yue around, we won’t kill you in case you spill the beans.”

Biting her lip, Hai Mingzhu replied, “I’m not scared!

This job is so much more exciting than watching a movie; even without a bulletproof vest, I can still do it.

You want to leave, right?

I’ll stay here out of spite.

Besides, I have Advisor Shen to protect .

What are you going to do about it?”

At this point, she rembered everything that had happened in the bar and she blushed.

Then she turned away and pretended to look at the scenery nonchalantly.

Jin Xin shook his head, felt this girl was more ddleso than a sticky toffee, and stopped trying to scare Hai Mingzhu off.

He went back to the main topic and said, “Shen Yue, from what I gathered from your description of the killer in the car, your second portrayal was more detailed than the first.

I heard you say ‘it’s as it I rembered’…and assud that you’d regained your mory…

What I an is, you had seen the killer before!

Then sohow the mory of the killer appeared in the mirror for you to see.”

Hai Mingzhu felt that her knowledge of psychology had co to naught, as Jin Xin’s explanation was more compelling than hers, and even she began to lean towards this theory.

Shen Yue thought for a mont, “Do you have a pen and paper?”

“Wait!”

Jin Xin was clear about Shen Yue’s intention.

He quickly retrieved a pencil and so blank paper from the housekeeper, and handed over a hard cardboard piece to support the paper.

Hai Mingzhu watched as Shen Yue spread the blank paper on the cardboard, picked up the pencil, and started sketching vigorously.

“Advisor Shen can draw too?” Hai Mingzhu exclaid, “He is truly a man of many talents.”

“His skills keep increasing over ti, probably those forgotten from the past.” Jin Xin watched as the sketch on the paper slowly took shape, his face revealing a surprised expression.

The gunman had sprung off the paper, looking very similar to the description Shen Yue provided in the car.

The ghastly mask had a unique Western exaggerated style, and the shotgun held by the gunman seed almost real under Shen Yue’s strokes.

“Do you see what’s wrong?” Shen Yue asked Jin Xin.

What’s wrong?

Hai Mingzhu looked for a while but only felt the craftsmanship excellent, the sketch elaborately three-dinsional, from which she inferred that Shen Yue must have had superior drawing skills before.

Jin Xin nodded solemnly, countering, “Did you see all this in the mirror?” Even though he realized his question was redundant, Jin Xin imdiately added, “Then my earlier conjecture must be wrong.”

“Indeed.” Shen Yue solved the mystery, “I also saw the alley, the one behind the killer, in the mirror, the sa one which you’d just scurried out from.

Therefore, this shouldn’t be a reflection of my past mory in the mirror.

The chances of both you and coincidentally being in the sa alley, encountering the sa gunman are astronomically slim.”

“Indeed.

You only arrived here a little over a year ago and hadn’t been in this city for many years; you shouldn’t have such a mory.” Jin Xin agreed, “But then again, too many strange things have happened to you, just like that 2:33 alarm clock.

Since we can’t explain the phenonon now, why not just put it aside?”

Shen Yue agreed.

Jin Xin took a picture of Shen Yue’s sketch with his phone and found a conversation box in his contacts to send the picture.

“President Jin, who are you consulting?” Unable to contain her curiosity, Hai Mingzhu asked.

She felt that Jin Xin was asking a professional’s opinion on the sketch.

JT Security seed to consist of more than just the three of them.

“You don’t need to know.” Jin Xin shook his head.

“Then, can I know why the killer wanted to murder you?” Hai Mingzhu ventured.

“Well, I really don’t know.” The response from Jin Xin was so dismissive that Hai Mingzhu nearly rolled her eyes, but then he added, “It’s not certain that he was trying to assassinate .”

“But you were shot.” Hai Mingzhu seized the opportunity to counter.

Jin Xin laughed, chose not to engage in a verbal spat with Hai Mingzhu, and handed Shen Yue a sleek mp3 player.

He then walked over to Cui Xin’ai and whispered, “I need to discuss sothing with you privately.”
