65: Section 65: Glass Assassin 65: Section 65: Glass Assassin Jin Xin sprang up, heading straight for the light.

The light was coming from Shen Yue’s hand.

As the thought that Shen Yue had arrived in a car crossed Jin Xin’s mind, he plunged headlong into the car window, leaving most of his body hanging outside the vehicle.

Shen Yue floored the gas pedal without hesitation, and the car sped away.

Hai Mingzhu was stunned.

She had thought the night was over, but it was just beginning.

Upon learning that Jin Xin was in danger, Shen Yue, carrying Li Yawei, ran to an off-road vehicle parked by the roadside.

With one elbow, he shattered the car’s window, opened the door, and tossed Li Yawei into the back seat.

Five seconds later, he started the car and had driven far away before the car’s alarm could summon its owner.

This was a skill that could rival professional car thieves, right?

As Hai Mingzhu marveled, she was also worried about how Shen Yue could find Jin Xin.

Shen Yue didn’t even use a GPS.

After driving for several minutes, he started circling a particular area, constantly sticking his head out to look at the sky and occasionally honking the car horn in rhythms that seed like he was sending a coded ssage.

He must be sending a coded ssage!

The drumming sounds that Jin Xin was making were similar to the rhythms Shen Yue was sending, and Hai Mingzhu quickly picked up on this.

Suddenly she saw a beam of light shoot up into the sky and disappear.

Knowing that this was a signal from Jin Xin, Shen Yue violently turned the steering wheel, took a side road, and quickly drove to an alley, ignoring the pedestrians who were looking at him.

Then he took out a powerful flashlight and shone it down the alley.

All his actions, as swift as a whirlwind, were carried out systematically and thodically.

anwhile, Jin Xin was sprinting out of the alley, lunging straight into the backseat window.

Just as Hai Mingzhu was struggling to understand the tacit understanding between these two n, Shen Yue had already parked the car around the corner.

Seeing this, Jin Xin quickly pulled himself out of the vehicle, opened the door and got in.

He imdiately said, “To Qianhai!”

Shen Yue’s eyebrows furrowed slightly, and he floored the gas pedal.

The off-road vehicle roared onto the main road, heading straight in the direction of Qianhai.

There was a mont of silence in the car.

Jin Xin looked at Li Yawei, who was still unconscious in the back seat.

“Is she high or just drunk?

How long until she wakes up?”

Shen Yue kept his eyes on the road ahead: “There was no sll of narcotics in her vomit, so she’s probably just drunk.”

Hai Mingzhu was surprised.

Shen Yue had made Li Yawei throw up and promptly thrown the vomit into a trash can.

But while everyone else was holding their noses, he had been able to sll whether the vomit contained narcotics?

Recalling how Shen Yue had detected the scent of perfu in the air at the Giant Building, and moreover identified the perfu’s brand, Hai Mingzhu could only marvel at the potency of his sense of sll.

“Waking up from being drunk varies with individual constitution,” Shen Yue saw Jin Xin’s serious expression and asked: “You need her urgently?”

The two n had a knack for banter, but in crucial monts, they knew what the other wanted to do just by their questions.

“I’ve been shot,” said Jin Xin, taking a deep breath and moving his shoulder.

“You were shot and you’re still running so fast?” Hai Mingzhu was astonished.

She found Shen Yue surprising, but Jin Xin was even more shocking—Jin Xin was practically a man of steel.

“I wore a bulletproof vest,” Jin Xin explained.

Hai Mingzhu gave a small “oh” and, seeing the two n fall silent again, said spontaneously: “President Jin, you knew that this mission would be dangerous, which is why you wore a bulletproof vest.

Why didn’t you think to provide Shen Yue and with vests as well?”

Jin Xin remained silent.

Shen Yue explained: “President Jin habitually wears a bulletproof vest.

He did plan to buy one for , but I didn’t think it was necessary.” He paused for a mont, then added, “Nobody could have imagined this simple mission would beco so dangerous.

If Jin Xin had known, he wouldn’t have let you get involved.”

Hai Mingzhu bit her lip and accepted Shen Yue’s explanation, but another question lingered in her mind—Why would Jin Xin wear a bulletproof vest all the ti?

What was he afraid of?

Was he worried that soone would try to kill him?

Jin Xin looked at Shen Yue with gratitude.

Not for his explanation, but for the understanding between them as companions.

“The assassin seed professional.

Could you tell what his skills were?”

Jin Xin knew if the assassin wasn’t a professional, he wouldn’t have been forced to send a Morse code signal for help.

And without being one of the top-ranking professional assassins, that man wouldn’t have made Jin Xin so distressed.

Jin Xin wasn’t soone who would run away easily.

If he had a chance, he would counterattack.

Given that Shen Yue had picked him up, they should have returned and attacked, catching the assassin if they could and if not, at least getting a sense of the killer’s strength.

But Jin Xin hadn’t done that.

It suggested sothing serious was happening.

The assassin was difficult to contend with and Jin Xin knew he didn’t stand a chance against him.

“I couldn’t tell,” Jin Xin shook his head.

“I only know he is a Glass Assassin.”

He could tell that?

President Jin was impressive.

Hai Mingzhu was repeatedly shocked.

She certainly knew the aning of the term “glass.” In modern parlance, a multitude of words had developed nuanced anings.

To describe an assassin as “glass” ant that the assassin was gay.

Shen Yue’s driving skills were as good as a professional racer’s.

Frowning, he said, “You an…

he used glass bullets?”

Jin Xin made an affirmative sound and then fell silent again.

Hai Mingzhu blushed a little, feeling that she should keep her questions to herself in the future.

Reflecting on the scene of silver light exploding in the air, Jin Xin finally started to feel a sense of fear.

Glass Bullets—like the na suggested, these are made of glass and have a copper fuse inside.

Though they sound easy to make, they are not.

The glass used in these bullets is composed of a special compound.

It’s not only very hard but also brittle.

When it hits a person, it breaks apart rapidly, and the glass fragnts can bleed into the bloodstream and cause extensive damage to the body’s internal organs due to the rapid expansion.

The destruction caused by glass bullets is worse than the internationally banned Dum-Dum bullets, earning them the title of the king of bullets.

Tests have proven that glass bullets can easily penetrate so types of soft body armor and even enter the human body!

Jin Xin’s bulletproof vest was soft, but it was expensive and of superior quality.

That’s what saved him from a fatal shot.

All this information passed through his mind, and Jin Xin simply said: “Glass bullets are banned internationally.” Then he added: “Since I couldn’t look back, did you see any sign of the assassin?”

Shen Yue shook his head, “When the lights went out, all I saw was the assassin wearing a ghoulish mask at the alley entrance.”

Jin Xin rely grunted, clearly a little disappointed, but he didn’t say anything else.

He knew that under those circumstances, Shen Yue had used his flashlight to confuse the assassin’s sight and point out the direction of the car while operating the vehicle and listening for the assassin’s movents behind him.

It was already impressive that he was able to see the killer’s ghoulish mask.
