Chapter 33: Chapter 30: Sun and Moon Immortal Spirit

Mu Chen nodded. He’d originally wanted to ask about Mu Bingling, but on second thought, he decided against it. It just felt too awkward.

"In that case, it would be best for you all to leave. It should be much less dangerous on the outskirts from here. Farewell."

After speaking, Mu Chen activated his Deceptive Step. He took a single stride, producing a clap of thunder as he vanished on the spot. The clanking and scraping of the Black Iron Lock Chain disappeared along with him.

"Brother Xi Yu, that person is so strong."

The woman called Xiao Xiao stared at the dazed Xi Yu, the shock on her face refusing to fade. Just then, the two youths called Little Tiger and Xiaobao also struggled to their feet. Their injuries were extrely severe, and they grunted in pain as the movent likely tore at their wounds.

Although they had been lying on the ground in excruciating chest pain, they had still witnessed the astonishing scene: repelling the Furious Barbarian Bear with a single punch and killing the Second-level Magical Beast in two blows.

"Captain, who on earth was that man?"

Little Tiger followed Xi Yu’s gaze, staring blankly into the distance. Xi Yu remained silent for a long ti before frowning and saying, "I don’t know. But I could clearly sense his realm."

"What realm?" the others asked in unison.

"The peak of a Ninth-Ring Martial Disciple..."

"What!?"

"Hehe, not bad, kid. You’ve improved a lot. Taking on a Furious Barbarian Bear with two direct hits... your physical body must have reached the Martial Master Realm at least."

As soon as the figure appeared, Mu Chen heard the Profound Old Ghost’s sinister voice and couldn’t help but smile. "I don’t know what level my physical strength has reached either, but I didn’t feel much strain taking on the Furious Barbarian Bear head-on."

"Not bad. It should have reached the Martial Master Realm. The main reason you didn’t feel much strain against the Furious Barbarian Bear is due to your Furious Thunder Force. Huh? Stop."

As the Profound Old Ghost spoke, he suddenly let out a cry of surprise. A white figure then erged from behind Mu Chen.

"Master, what is it?"

Mu Chen was puzzled. His Master rarely showed such a surprised expression.

After erging, the Profound Old Ghost stood with his hands behind his back as his formidable Spiritual Power rapidly spread out from him. After a mont, he suddenly let out a sigh of relief. "Good, the thing is still here. I never thought this place would change so much after a hundred thousand years. The Sun and Moon Pool must have moved from its original location."

"Sun and Moon Pool?"

Hearing the Profound Old Ghost ntion an unfamiliar na, Mu Chen couldn’t help but ask. The Profound Old Ghost chuckled. "That’s our destination. The thing we’re looking for is at the bottom of that pool. It’s called the Sun and Moon Immortal Spirit."

"The Sun and Moon Immortal Spirit."

Mu Chen mumbled the na after the Profound Old Ghost as a flood of information from his readings surfaced in his mind. In the vast number of books he had read, any item with the character for "Immortal" in its na was an absolute top-tier Heavenly Material and Earthly Treasure, commonly known as an Immortal Treasure. To date, records showed only thirty-odd types had ever been discovered, but Mu Chen had never co across any information about a Sun and Moon Immortal Spirit.

’Could it be an undiscovered Immortal Treasure?’

Mu Chen thought to himself. The Profound Old Ghost nodded. "Yes, the Sun and Moon Immortal Spirit. It is a Spirit Body ford through the refinent and cleansing of the sun and moon’s splendor. As for its effects... you’ll find out when the ti cos."

With that, the Profound Old Ghost assessed the terrain, chose a direction, and drifted away, leaving a stunned Mu Chen standing there in a daze.

"Hey! You brat, are you coming or not?"

After taking a few steps, the Profound Old Ghost noticed Mu Chen hadn’t followed. He turned to find Mu Chen staring into space and beca utterly exasperated.

"Uh..."

Mu Chen’s face flushed red. He scratched the back of his head and hurried to catch up. The two walked one after another for about the ti it takes to drink a cup of tea before the Profound Old Ghost suddenly frowned. "This is too slow. I’ll take you."

The words had barely left his mouth before Mu Chen could react. He felt his body go light, and after a mont of weightlessness, the scenery around him blurred into streaks of black. He was utterly shocked. ’Traveling through the air... that’s absolutely impossible unless you’ve reached the Martial Spirit realm. But Master was able to see through even Yan Ruoshui, a Fourth-Ring Martial Disciple. That ans Master is at least one whole realm higher than her... a Martial King! A Martial King expert!’

’He can unleash the power of at least the Martial King Realm in just his spirit form... so what realm did Master’s original strength reach?’ He was completely astonished. ’No wonder he could casually produce a Celestial Tier Combat Skill. No wonder he could confidently promise to make

one of the strongest experts on the continent. Who exactly *is* Master?’ A profound mystery took root in Mu Chen’s heart.

"We’re here."

Following the Profound Old Ghost’s soft words, Mu Chen felt a sudden wave of dizziness, but it vanished without a trace just as quickly as it ca.

Looking around, he saw they were in a mountain ravine. Countless plants grew on both sides, completely obscuring the view below. A thick mist blanketed the bottom of the ravine, making it impossible to see clearly. Yet, the place seed overly calm, with no birdsong or roars of beasts to be heard.

"Master, is the Sun and Moon Pool in here?"

’If it’s in a place like this, soone must have explored it already. But Master said the Sun and Moon Immortal Spirit is still here. Could it be that the thing has truly gained sentience and can hide itself?’

"Hehe, of course not. How could it possibly be in here?"

With that, without another word, the Profound Old Ghost grabbed Mu Chen and leaped down.

"AHH!"

A scream echoed through the ravine, spreading in all directions and soaring into the azure sky, setting off a series of loud echoes.

THUD. Mu Chen’s feet landed firmly on solid ground. He let out a huge sigh of relief and was about to speak, but when he saw the Profound Old Ghost’s ashen face, he imdiately clamped his mouth shut.

"Damn it, kid! What are you screaming for?"

The Profound Old Ghost roared. Even after a hundred thousand years, Mu Chen’s shriek had still startled him, so much so that he had nearly misjudged their landing spot. That was why he was so furious.

Mu Chen said, "Hehe, it was just so sudden."

"You were more sudden than ," the Profound Old Ghost retorted irritably.

With that said, the Profound Old Ghost’s Spiritual Power spread out once more, feeding a flood of information clearly back into his soul.

"Here."

After making an instant judgnt, the Profound Old Ghost led Mu Chen to the most conspicuous spot in the ravine. There stood a sharp, angular rock face, surrounded by overgrown weeds...

"Here? No way."

Mu Chen clicked his tongue in disbelief. The place was incredibly obvious, yet he couldn’t spot anything unusual about it. ’Since it’s an Immortal Treasure, it must be protected by a Heaven Reaching Spirit Beast. How can I not feel even a trace of its aura? Besides, didn’t he say it was in the Sun and Moon Pool? This place is all rock. Where’s the pool?’

The Profound Old Ghost curled his lip disdainfully. "If a little brat like you could spot it, it wouldn’t be the Sun and Moon Immortal Spirit."

As he spoke, the Profound Old Ghost’s hands suddenly ford a strange Seal Technique. Shortly after, an obscure, white Array Map appeared before the rock face. The Array Map was illusory, like smoke and mist, and looked so fragile it seed it would dissipate with the slightest touch.

"Back in the day, if I hadn’t discovered it by chance, it’s likely no one would have ever found a trace of it. Its aura can perfectly blend with the surrounding grass, trees, mountains, rivers, and even people. Tell , how would you find sothing like that? Fortunately, it was still in its infant state back then, and I had a physical body. Even so, it took

a full month of releasing all my Spiritual Power to finally capture it. But since it hadn’t matured yet, I locked it away at the bottom of the Sun and Moon Pool, using the power of an Array to seal the entire bottom of the pool."

As he spoke, the Profound Old Ghost’s hand gestures changed a few tis. Mu Chen then saw the white Array Map on the rock face suddenly erupt with a powerful, extrely pure light. The light slowly receded, revealing a stable Array Map on the rock face.

"Whew, there. The Array Map is restored. Next is to undo it. This Sealing Array Map is a proud creation of mine from back in the day. Any other seal would have faded away long ago after a hundred thousand years."

"A seal? Can I learn it?"

Mu Chen asked in a low voice. Ever since the Profound Old Ghost’s last outburst, Mu Chen had learned to keep a low profile.

The Profound Old Ghost was taken aback. Seeing Mu Chen’s behavior, he nodded slightly and chuckled. "Don’t worry. I’ve told you before, as your master, I will never be stingy with anything that can help you. However, this Sealing Technique cannot be cultivated without reaching the Martial Emperor Realm. Once you reach the Emperor Realm, I will teach it to you."

"Okay."

Mu Chen was overjoyed. A Sealing Technique that could last for a hundred thousand years—having this would greatly increase his chances of survival in the future.

"Open!"

A quarter of an hour later, the Profound Old Ghost let out a sudden shout. He ford his right hand into a claw and, with his palm facing the Array, gave it a sharp clockwise twist.

DING...

A crisp chi rang out, and a strange scene unfolded. The white Sealing Array Map began to rotate slowly. As the Array spun, the rocks on the cliff face RUMBLED and slid to the sides, revealing a pitch-black doorway before Mu Chen.

"Hurry and get in."

Seeing Mu Chen spacing out again, the Profound Old Ghost urged him on. Mu Chen gave an embarrassed smile and followed the Profound Old Ghost through the stone door. Before Mu Chen could get a clear look at the scene inside, the stone wall behind them quickly closed shut again.

"This place is...?"

His eyes quickly adjusted to the surrounding darkness, but as soon as he could see his surroundings clearly, Mu Chen realized that all the beautiful sights he had ever seen before were as dull and tasteless as chewed wax in comparison.

Jade. The ground was entirely made of solidified jade, a translucent, vibrant green. Because there was no light in the cave, all the jade appeared dim, but it was still enough to stun Mu Chen. A cave made of solidified jade.

The Profound Old Ghost huffed and flicked his finger. A faint speck of light struck a piece of jade at Mu Chen’s feet. Imdiately, that piece of jade began to slowly emit a soft glow. The light gradually covered the entire jade stone beneath Mu Chen, but it didn’t stop there. The jade then seed to pass the light along, spreading it step by step throughout the entire Jade Cave.

The light spread faster and faster until the remaining jade lit up almost instantly, radiating a brilliant glow. In a matter of breaths, the once-dim cave beca crystal clear, dazzling and resplendent, exuding an aura of priceless treasure.

Mu Chen was utterly speechless. He was certain this was the most magnificent natural decor he had ever seen in his life. The Imperial Palace and its grand halls were completely eclipsed by the radiance of this Jade Cave.

"Let’s go," the Profound Old Ghost called out softly, his body floating lightly toward the depths of the cave. Mu Chen acknowledged and followed. He knew that these things were superficial; aside from being used to make containers for elixirs or as decorations, jade had very little use for a Martial Artist.

He took a step, and his Deceptive Step activated instantly. Due to Mu Chen’s control, he didn’t produce the sound of thunder this ti. It was just for normal movent, so there was no need to execute it perfectly.
