Chapter 132: Chapter 129: Instruction
The two figures in the sky gradually grew clearer.
Lingyun flicked her wrist, and the Giant Blade she held slashed out as if it were light as a feather. Fei Yun scrambled to block it, only for another strike to rain down imdiately after. The Sword Blade landed in an incredibly strange place with every attack, and soon, Lingyun had completely seized control of the fight’s tempo.
SWISH!
A golden stream of Sword Qi shot from the Giant Blade at an incredible speed. Unable to dodge in ti, Fei Yun could only raise the flat of his own blade to block. But the Gold Attribute was renowned as the most powerful offensive Attribute. How could a burst of Sword Qi, condensed with Attribute Power, be blocked so easily?
CLANG! Sparks flew. A huge gash instantly appeared on the blade in Fei Yun’s hand. But that wasn’t all. After being blocked, the Sword Qi didn’t dissipate. Instead, it slamd into Fei Yun, driving him down toward the ground.
"Hah!"
Seeing himself getting closer and closer to the ground, a terrified Fei Yun roared. The Primordial Qi Gang Wind surrounding his body instantly converged on his arm. With a fierce swing, he violently batted the Sword Qi away.
The two reappeared in everyone’s sight. Of course, only Mu Chen had been able to follow the entire fight clearly. He didn’t know how Lingyun did it. Even after his bell training, he couldn’t have executed attacks so cleanly, so efficiently, without a single wasted motion.
Her Swordsmanship seed to be suffused with a particular Sword Intent. When Mu Chen witnessed it, he subconsciously felt he was seeing the simplest forms of attack: smashing and slashing. It was as if those were her only two moves, yet each one was incredibly powerful, pure, and perfect. ’What in the world is this?’
After landing the blow, Lingyun glanced over at Mu Chen. It was just a casual look, but she was startled when she saw the strange glint in his eyes. ’Did he understand it? Or did he see sothing else?’
Lingyun shook her head. ’I just wanted him to watch a fight between Martial Sects. He probably only managed to see so of the movents. As for the deeper aspects... I can’t believe he’d grasp anything just by watching once.’
Looking down at Fei Yun, Lingyun’s lips curved into a smile. "Elder Fei Yun, you truly do have power without the skill to back it up. Allow
to teach you the *real* way to use the Primordial Qi Gang Wind."
With that, Lingyun erupted with a powerful wave of Primordial Power. A golden torrent of Primordial Qi Gang Wind burst from her body, enveloping her completely. But this was just the prelude. She raised her right hand, holding the seemingly massive Giant Blade as if it were a weightless piece of wood. Beneath her feet, seven intensely solidified blue Martial Rings pulsed with a dazzling light. Then, the Primordial Qi Gang Wind that had been surrounding her grew agitated and sward toward her right arm. In an instant, the golden Gang Feng enveloped her limb entirely, looking from a distance like a burning golden fla—an incredibly imposing sight.
Fei Yun trembled, his face paling in horror. "A Seventh-Ring Martial Sect! You’re actually a Seventh-Ring Martial Sect! That’s Gangfeng Will! You’ve actually comprehended the ultimate mystery of the Martial Sect realm!"
As his voice faded, Lingyun smiled faintly. Her lips moved slightly, and one could see her mouth a single word.
"Goodbye..."
The arm shrouded in the Primordial Qi Gang Wind suddenly flashed. Below, Mu Chen’s pupils contracted violently as he pushed his Purple Sky Demon Pupils to their absolute limit. A soft hum of a blade rang through the air. Then, over forty streaks of golden Sword Qi crisscrossed through Fei Yun’s body. Just as expected, the Sword Qi shredded his body to pieces. And just like that, a Martial Sect expert vanished from this cruel world.
Everyone standing below, with the exception of Mu Chen, had no idea what happened. They only saw the woman standing there calmly, her arm wreathed in golden flas. Then, there was a ripple in space, and... that was it.
"So... so terrifying..."
Mu Chen stared blankly at Lingyun, who hovered in the air. ’I’m so insignificant,’ he thought. Just now, he had watched her arm deliver over forty slashes in a single instant. A true instant! Even by pushing his Purple Sky Demon Pupils to their absolute limit, he had only barely been able to perceive those forty-odd strikes.
Mu Bingling looked at Mu Chen, surprised. She could tell from his expression that he had seen sothing the rest of them had missed.
With a flash, Lingyun put away her enormous Giant Blade and landed softly beside Mu Chen. Looking at the Mu Family mbers staring at her, she shrugged. "Alright, don’t just stand there gawking. I was just helping the Sect eliminate a traitor. You can all get back to what you were doing."
Mu Gu Tian snapped back to reality, his face breaking into a joyful grin. "Brother Wang, it’s ti for revenge!"
Wang Mo roared with laughter. "Old Gu, what are you waiting for? Let’s tear them apart!"
As they spoke, the two led their family mbers and swept through the remaining forces of the Chen and Li families like an autumn wind scattering fallen leaves. Chen Wenfu had already been crippled by Mu Chen, and Li Zongtang alone was no match for a siege by seven Martial Spirits. He was quickly captured and had his ridians sealed. The rest were complete pushovers. A few minutes later, cheers erupted from the Mu Mansion Courtyard. They had won. The victory felt surreal.
Watching the cheering Mu Family mbers, a faint smile touched Mu Chen’s lips. ’The family crisis is finally over,’ he thought. ’But Luofeng City is in for a period of turmoil. We won’t be able to rest easy until the remnants of the Chen and Li families are dealt with.’
"Bing’Er, this esteed lady is...?" Mufeng asked, helping Mu Chen up and looking at Lingyun.
Before Mu Bingling could answer, Lingyun smiled. "Allow
to introduce myself. I am Lingyun, Mu Chen’s class instructor, and also his senior sister. You can just call
by na, or Instructor Ling Yun is fine too. Being called ’esteed lady’ feels rather awkward."
Seeing how easygoing Lingyun was, Mufeng smiled. "Very well. I’m not one to stand on ceremony myself. But we must truly thank you this ti, Instructor Ling Yun. If you hadn’t arrived when you did, the Mu Family would likely have been wiped from existence."
Lingyun waved her hand, a helpless look on her face. "What can I say? He is my little junior brother, after all—my only one. Isn’t that right, little junior brother...?"
Mu Chen’s mouth twitched. He was speechless for a long mont, not knowing how to respond. In the end, he just rolled his eyes and kept his mouth shut.
Seeing Mu Chen’s disgruntled expression, both Mu Bingling and Lingyun covered their mouths to stifle their giggles. Mufeng simply shook his head with a helpless sigh. Then, an idea struck him. "Instructor Ling Yun," he said, "you must be exhausted from your journey. If you wouldn’t mind, would you be willing to stay at the Mu Mansion and allow us to extend our hospitality?"
"Of course. There’s nothing going on at the academy right now anyway, so I’ll take this as a chance to look around. Besides," Lingyun’s gaze shifted to Mu Chen, her eyes filled with curiosity, "I want to get to know this guy a little better." ’From up in the sky, I saw it all. Among everyone down below, he was the only one with a look of terror on his face. The others were just bewildered. What does that an? It ans this kid definitely saw my movents.’
Lingyun’s candidness greatly improved Mufeng’s impression of her. Straightforward people tended to be unpretentious, and Lingyun seed to be no exception. And so, Lingyun took up residence in the Mu Mansion, spending her days chatting with Bi Wan and Mu Bingling about won’s things. anwhile, the other Mu Family mbers were busy taking over the territories and marketplaces of the Chen and Li families. For a ti, a sense of unease settled over Luofeng City. Fortunately, both the Mu and Wang families were upstanding. They took care not to harm innocents while absorbing the new territories, even offering compensation to so of the other businesses. As a result, the residents of Luofeng City gradually ca to view the two families more favorably, and the Mu and Wang families finally secured a firm foothold in the city.
「Three days had passed since the crisis at the Mu Mansion.」
During these three days, Mu Chen had been using the Extre Spirit Chaos Technique daily to heal his injuries. That morning, it began to rain—the first rain of the sumr. Mu Chen slowly opened his eyes. Six white, snowflake-shaped marks slowly rotated around his pupils. His cold, rciless vertical pupils looked like black holes capable of devouring a person’s very soul.
"Finally, a full recovery."
He clenched his fists, a determined glint in his eyes. ’I’m still too weak. I need more power!’
RUSTLE...
A rustling sound ca from the bed, and a snow-white furball poked its head out from under the covers, its eyes drowsy. It was none other than the Fur Ball Little Beast, the Snow Qilin that Mu Chen had brought back from the Cave of Ten Thousand Bones.
"You’re awake." Mu Chen smiled, scooping the Snow Qilin into his arms. "Xiaobai, you were the one who protected
that day, weren’t you?"
Others might not have known, but Mu Chen was extrely sensitive to Primordial Power. How could he not have felt the power of Elder Fei Yun’s palm strike diminish?
’When that palm strike first appeared, my first thought was that it was all over. But when it struck my chest, I distinctly felt the palm made of condensed Primordial Power pause for an instant. Its power was reduced by at least half. Otherwise, I’d have been reduced to a at paste by now.’
The Snow Qilin rubbed its eyes with its tiny arms, let out a huge yawn, and then nodded. Mu Chen gently stroked the little one’s fur. Just as he was about to say sothing, a knock sounded at the door.
"Little junior brother... Are you up yet, little junior brother?"
It was Lingyun. Mu Chen gently tucked the Snow Qilin into his robes, making sure to pull a Level 3 Magic Beast Demon Core from his ring. It was one of the last few he had. While the Primordial Power inside was barely a snack for the Snow Qilin, it was better than nothing. Though he had plenty of Demon Beast at stored in his ring, he hadn’t had ti to roast any. Now that his wounds had healed, Mu Chen planned to let the Snow Qilin have a proper at feast soon.
CREAK...
Mu Chen opened the door. Lingyun pouted. "Little junior brother... Don’t you feel bad, making a girl wait outside your door for so long?"
Mu Chen felt his eye twitch. ’A girl? What part of you is remotely girlish?’ Of course, he would never dare say that out loud. If he did, he’d surely end up bedridden for another few days.
"Instructor Ling Yun..."
"Call
Senior Sister!"
Mu Chen was speechless. In the end, under Lingyun’s fierce glare, he finally relented.
"Senior Sister..."
"That’s more like it. It sounds so much friendlier than ’Instructor’..." Lingyun’s cold expression vanished, replaced by a beaming smile. The sudden shift only reinforced Mu Chen’s opinion that won were an incomprehensible species.
"By the way, Senior Sister, did you co looking for
for a reason?" Mu Chen asked.
