His fingertips touched her still damp hair, Huo Heng picked up the hairdryer lying beside, said lightly, “Giving you so ti to think about how to co clean with .”
The noise from the hairdryer made everything around blur, Shen Zhiyi sat quietly, her hair gradually drying in his hands, he slowly ran his fingers through it as if he had endless patience.
She suddenly rembered her first impression of Pei Yu—it wasn’t that night at Nanyuan.
The first ti she saw Pei Yu was when she had just entered the circle, her agent took her to a party full of producers. She disliked such occasions and had stepped outside for so air, just in ti to see Pei Yu coming out of the elevator surrounded by a group of people.
The hotel lights were bright, casting his face in stark clarity, displaying a longti high-ranker’s arrogance and nobility without any disguise, more striking than his looks, making one instantly realize that they were from different worlds, a world where ordinary people simply could not set foot.
Realizing this, Shen Zhiyi quietly moved back to the corner, even though she wasn’t blocking the way, she subconsciously made such a movent.
Just as she stepped back, Pei Yu, who was at the front, suddenly turned his head and looked over, his posture aloof yet casual, almost without pausing, he quickly looked away.
She later learned of his identity from a producer, Pei Yu, the ruler of Pei’s.
From the way the producer was tight-lipped, she knew he was soone not to be trifled with and difficult to please.
Yet now, this esteed individual was drying her hair.
“Why are you looking at like that?”
Huo Heng raised an eyebrow, turned off the hairdryer.
Shen Zhiyi blinked, “What kind of look is that?”
She turned to look in the mirror but couldn’t see anything wrong with her expression.
Pei Yu turned her face back to him, fiddled with her drooping eyelashes, with a hint of amusent and teasing, said leisurely, “The look of wanting a kiss.”
Was there such a look?
Shen Zhiyi speechless, “Don’t talk nonsense.”
“Then what upset you just now?”
Pei Yu lifted her from the sink, holding her steadily, casually ntioned, “Because of that phone call?”
He still hadn’t forgotten about it, insisting on an answer, but she didn’t want to say.
Shen Zhiyi was silent for a mont, then suddenly said, “I think you were right just now.”
Huo Heng was slightly taken aback, “What?”
Averting her gaze unconsciously, Shen Zhiyi’s voice was so low only Huo Heng could hear, “The look you just ntioned.”
She repeated, “You were right.”
So don’t ask her for an answer now, better do sothing else.
Huo Heng paused, eyed her closely, confirming he hadn’t misunderstood, laughed with resignation, “Is that how much you don’t want to talk to ?”
For the sake of not discussing what upset her, she even took the initiative to flirt with him, unsure if it was a good or bad thing.
“Don’t want to say,” She buried her face in his neck, her voice muffled, she simply admitted, “just don’t want to say.”
That being the case, Huo Heng could no longer probe, he sighed quietly, tried to soothe her with a gentle voice, “I can only think of a solution if I know why you are upset.”
The person he tries so hard to pamper and please was upset because of soone else, sothing else.
In a place he couldn’t see, Shen Zhiyi’s face showed confusion, she remained silent.
He wouldn’t be able to find a solution this ti.
He laid her on the bed, seeing that Shen Zhiyi really had no intention of speaking, Pei Yu did not continue to press her, and thought, “Are you tired now?”
Probably due to her night schedule being upside down, Shen Zhiyi shook her head, indicating she was not yet sleepy.
“Hmm,” Huo Heng stooped and lifted her again, heading towards the wine cellar, “Join for a drink?”
“Drinking again?” Shen Zhiyi was rather surprised, “Haven’t you had enough today?”
She had already drunk quite a bit at Minghua.
“Have a drink,” Pei Yu began descending the stairs, reminding her, “Hold on tight.”
It was already very late, but the butler hadn’t gone to sleep yet; hearing noises, he ca out of his room, “Where are you going, sir?”
“To the wine cellar.”
Shen Zhiyi was still being carried by Pei Yu as if she were a child. She was embarrassed to be seen by the butler like this and wanted to get down, but Pei Yu jostled her closer into his chest, “Behave.”
Her face flushed, she leaned on Pei Yu’s shoulder, just in ti to see the butler turn his back and snicker, “…don’t always carry like this.”
“Hmm?” Pei Yu looked in the butler’s direction, understanding, “No one is making fun of you.”
Shen Zhiyi: “The butler just laughed.”
This is so embarrassing.
Pei Yu chuckled quietly a few tis, “Then I’ll tell her not to laugh anymore.”
“…”
Is this a solution?
The wine cellar was climate-controlled and a bit cool, so Shen Zhiyi draped a blanket over herself and watched as Pei Yu picked out a bottle of white wine.
“Don’t drink too much.”
“Hmm,” Pei Yu poured her a small half glass, “Can you hold your liquor?”
“Not really.”
Shen Zhiyi spoke honestly. She was accustod to drinking just enough to feel slightly tipsy, but this ti was different than usual. She was at Huating, a place she deed safe, and Pei Yu was deliberately coaxing her; she unwittingly drank nearly half the bottle.
As he had said, Pei Yu didn’t drink much.
He waved his hand in front of her eyes, “Drunk?”
Shen Zhiyi held her heavy head with both hands, giving a not quite pertinent reply, “Dizzy.”
She slumped onto the table, eyes half-closed, “I’m sleepy, I want to sleep.”
He hadn’t dared let her drink too much; she shouldn’t be feeling too bad, but drowsiness surged over her. Pei Yu didn’t let her lie down on the cold tabletop to sleep; that would make her uncomfortable in the morning.
“Co here, I’ll carry you back to sleep.”
When drunk, she was more compliant than usual and not embarrassed. Shen Zhiyi snuggled into Pei Yu’s embrace, feeling drowsy. Just as she was about to fall asleep, she heard him seemingly asking her a question.
“Who was that on the phone with you?”
Her face, flushed from the alcohol, sought the coolness of his neck and stuck there without any guard, she gave away the answer.
“Huo Heng.”
It was expected, but still, hearing the answer from her lips unsettled Pei Yu’s emotions in inexplicable ways.
A single Huo Heng, and yet he could cause such a noticeable emotional fluctuation in her.
“So why are you upset?”
Was it because of Huo Heng?
After waiting a while without getting an answer, Pei Yu looked down, and found that the person who was supposed to be dozing was now looking straight at him. She wobbled her head and prodded his Adam’s apple, though not fully sober, she wasn’t drunk enough to be fooled easily.
“Pei Yu, don’t try to trick into talking when I’m drunk.”
She murmured softly, “You’re so persistent.”
Was that question so important?
Pei Yu tugged at the corner of his lips, his smile fleeting, and finally conceded, “All right, I won’t ask anymore.”
Being upset because of Huo Heng but unwilling to discuss the specific reasons with him, could it an that he was the one inserted between them, unworthy of knowing more?
Now even if she wanted to tell him the answer, Pei Yu no longer dared to listen.
