Shen Zhiyi joined in at the last minute and only received the variety show’s script on the way over. Just as Wang Feifei had said, the show was actually quite easy to film; it primarily involved learning crafts from artisans and playing so gas in between.

The celebrity she replaced had been assigned to the jade carving group, so when Shen Zhiyi recorded the first episode, she had to pick up a carving knife.

Unexpectedly, she turned out to be a bona fide mber of the "handicapped-party" when it ca to crafts, with a slow grasp; she made items that made the master craftsn laugh quite a few tis.

After two days of filming, aside from providing comic relief for the show, Shen Zhiyi only ended up with a collection of bizarre jade carvings.

She brought her creations back to Huating, where the butler laughed at them for a while.

"Sigh," Shen Zhiyi looked at the array of oddly shaped things she had made and sighed in frustration, "You all laugh at . I originally wanted to give these to Pei Yu, but now it seems I’d better not."

She also admitted that what she had made was indeed quite ugly.

"No need to worry about that," the butler gathered the animal carvings, which you couldn’t tell what animals they were supposed to be, onto the shelf, "The sir might like them."

"Even if he says he likes them, it could only be to comfort ," Shen Zhiyi had no confidence in her craftsmanship at all.

"The production team said I could switch groups. I’m considering whether to switch to another group, to stop learning jade carving."

Seeing her look so downcast, the butler comforted her, "It might not necessarily be your fault; it could be because the things they have you making are simply too difficult. You are a beginner; you should start with sothing simple."

That made sense. Since Shen Zhiyi was a last-minute addition, the production team couldn’t adjust the schedule for her. The jade carving master’s lessons had already reached an interdiate stage by the ti she started, so teaching her to carve little animals from the get-go was indeed hard on her.

Shen Zhiyi blinked, "That’s true; I haven’t even tried working on sothing simple."

With that said, she no longer wanted to switch groups.

"Should I find a master to teach you?" the butler suggested.

Shen Zhiyi was tempted. She definitely needed to practice privately to keep up with the production team’s schedule, as she didn’t want to continue to leave an impression of clumsiness to the audience until the last episode.

"Yes."

So, the butler arranged for a female master to co to teach her and even cleared a room in Huating for her to use for her studies.

After completing the introductory course, Shen Zhiyi’s work started to look much better. She stopped following the master’s lessons and instead sought her advice on making sothing she wanted to create.

Pei Yu ca ho early that day while Shen Zhiyi was still in her lesson. After changing clothes, he went to look for her. But as soon as Shen Zhiyi saw him coming, she quickly covered up the thing she was working on in a fluster.

She was a bit nervous, "Why are you here?"

Pei Yu took two steps forward, only to be pushed back by her head, "Don’t look."

He raised an eyebrow, "Why, can’t I see it?"

"It’s not good-looking," Shen Zhiyi stamred, "It’s poorly made; I won’t let you see it."

His understanding of her skills was still based on the pile of jade carving animals she had brought back, so when she said this, Pei Yu didn’t suspect anything, but he appeared sowhat resigned, "Zhizhi, it’s ti for you to be with ."

Shen Zhiyi showed a hesitant expression, but quickly nodded, "I’ll clean up and be right back."

Pei Yu fortunately had so free ti that day and planned to take her out to a restaurant for dinner.

This winter was particularly cold, and Shen Zhiyi would dress very warmly whenever she went out. She easily got sick in the winter, so she had no choice but to dress warmly. In contrast, Pei Yu was much more casual, wearing only a long overcoat over his turtleneck black cashre sweater.

"It looks cold," Shen Zhiyi said, wrapped in her scarf as she saw him co out.

Pei Yu chuckled, pressing his palm against her cheek. Her cheeks were already ice-cold, despite having just stepped outside, creating a stark contrast with his warm hand, "Who’s cold?"

Alright, Shen Zhiyi admitted, "I’m cold."

Being outside wasn’t too bad, but once they entered the restaurant, which was filled with warm air, Shen Zhiyi had to awkwardly remove her hat, scarf, and coat. Because she was dressed in bulky clothes, her movents were clumsy, and she felt embarrassed as she smiled at the waiter who was helping her with her clothes.

She was thin-skinned and felt humiliated, "I won’t wear so much next ti."

"What if you get sick without wearing enough?" Pei Yu disagreed, passing her the nu.

He made a lot of sense; compared to getting sick, feeling embarrassed was not a big deal.

Shen Zhiyi comforted herself for a mont, after all, this was a private booth, and no one but that waiter had seen her.

However, in the middle of their al, she checked her phone and found that soone she followed had posted on their blog. When she clicked in, she saw darkness before her eyes.

Pei Yu, the man her fans referred to as "brother-in-law," actually did use that Weibo account and posted a video half an hour ago. It was a short video of her struggling to take off her scarf and coat, and the comnts were full of laughter.

She looked up in a daze, "Did you film ?"

Not only had he fild her, but he had also posted it online!

"Yeah," Pei Yu responded with a very straightforward deanor, as if he had just posted a glamorous photo of Shen Zhiyi, admiring it for a mont with satisfaction, "Cute."

Shen Zhiyi looked down at the video again and couldn’t see anything cute about it. Pei Yu’s photography skills were indescribable. The angle was obviously from above, making her look several sizes fatter, not to ntion shorter, like a chubby penguin.

"Delete it," Shen Zhiyi took his phone and quickly deleted the video. To appease her fans, she found a few well-taken photos from his phone and posted a new update.

However, these few photos did not erase everyone’s mory, and so had already posted screenshots of their own videos, convinced that their brother-in-law was coerced by Shen Zhiyi into deleting that video.

Damnable.

Shen Zhiyi really wanted to post so unflattering photos of Pei Yu, but reason stopped her.

Firstly, she didn’t have as poor photography skills as Pei Yu to guarantee that she could make him look bad, and secondly, even if it were unattractive photos of Pei Yu, she didn’t want others to see them.

"Stealthy filming is okay," Shen Zhiyi said gloomily, "but you can’t secretly post it online."

"Alright," Pei Yu agreed amicably, "then I’ll ask you before I post it next ti."

He wasn’t too bothered. After all, Shen Zhiyi only said not to post it online; he could keep the pictures for his own enjoynt.

During their conversation, Pei Yu casually asked, "You’ve been taking classes for several days now, what kind of little crafts have you made?"

Even the ugly animals carved by Shen Zhiyi were displayed by Pei Yu in his study. He didn’t mind whether the things she made looked good or not.

"Not much," Shen Zhiyi said vaguely, "I’m learning slowly."

What was difficult was carving the lines. Shen Zhiyi was not very savvy and had ruined it several tis, having to start over each ti, hence the slow progress.
