Ch. 163: The Minotaur and the Wizard
The amount of Magic he poured into the {Fireball} was just below destroying the city.
But it was far from destroying the Minotaur!
Igni: “........urgh.”
The Minotaur sliced through the flas and ca rushing out - a nacing grin spread widely across his face. It was the grin of a battle loving berserker.
Igni: “.....I don’t have ti to play with you.”
The black flas that burned down the city wall was most definitely the work of a [Transgressor].
While Igni dawdles around with this hunk of at, Alicia and the Royal family will be attacked.
Igni took one hard step forward, and initiating [Fla Engine] {Accel Boot}, he flew backwards. The Minotaur continued to pursue after him in a straight line. Just like the bull he was, the Minotaur charged right after Igni.
As Igni led him to a deserted area of town, he quietly exhaled and began his incantation.
Igni: “[Equip Fla] {Ignition} : [Molecular] {Minima}!”
As the miniature {Fireball} was fired behind Igni, it began accelerating inside a bright halo behind him!
(*sfx)
Through high speed acceleration, the {Fireball} echoed a screech as it cut through the air.
(*sfx)
Igni: “[Launch] {Fire}!”
(*sfx)
The air before the {Fireball} shrunk, compressed, and broke as it ripped forward.
At the speed of light, the molecular-sized {Fireball} was fired at the Minotaur andーー
[ーーSHA!!]
(*sfx)
A heavy impact of tal grinding against tal screeched as the Minotaur .
Igni: “..........for real?”
This took Igni by surprise as he continued to gawk at the Minotaur.
It not only responded to an attack coming at it at the speed of light, but it also skillfully deflected an incredibly blow.
A true Monster indeed.
Igni: “Is it stronger than a Dragon perhaps?”
“Oh, how rude.”
Igni: “Hayem?!”
Soone answered back while he was mumbling to himself.
A gorgeous woman removed the hood hiding her head and revealed her beautiful blue hair.
With a crystal clear voice, a representative of the strongest race appeared with ease and confidence.
Without giving a thought to what was happening around, the [Frozen Winter] Hayem stood there.
Igni: “Why are you here?!”
Hayem: “I thought I could see so .”
Igni: “..........I’m not going to use it against a weakling like that.”
Hayem: “Oh, is that so? How regrettable.”
There was no deceit in her tone.
She genuinely looked disappointed as she sagged her shoulders.
Igni: “But hey, Hayem. Can you do sothing about that thing over there?”
The Minotaur hesitated at the appearance of the strongest monster race, and stood in place.
Not missing the opportunity, Igni pointed to the wall charred and demolished.
Hayem: “You want to fix the wall?”
Igni: “No, I need you to do sothing about the Monsters coming through from there.”
Hayem: “Can I ?”
Igni: “Without turning back to normal, if you please.”
Hayem: “Simple enough.”
Hayem gracefully smiled like a noble’s daughter during afternoon tea.
Hayem: “[Return from whence you ca].”
The Dragon’s Command.
Her words itself beca a powerful Spell ー a right only the Dragons possess.
At her voice, the Monsters stopped in their tracks, began to tremble uncontrollably, and ran back terrified towards the Dungeon.
Hayem: “Satisfied?”
Igni: “Impressive.”
Hayem: “No need for flattery ー just as long as you show so .”
Igni: “Look, I already told you that I’m not using it against that guy.”
Igni looked exasperated as he answered back, and released 7 {Fireballs} around him.
Igni: “[Equip Fla] {Ignition} : {Cannonball}”
He raised the Magic density to its max as the {Fireball} beca unbelievably heavy and as it orbited around Igni, all 7 were targeting the Minotaur.
Igni: “[Cannon] {Fire]!”
All seven were fired at once!
The Minotaur swung its machete in that instant to deflect 4 out of 7 {Fireballs} and braced for the other 3. A mont later, the balls of fla erupt against its chest and blew its body backwards!!
But the Minotaur flipped in midair to regain its balance and landed perfectly on the ground. In the next mont, it jumped forward again and closed its distance with Igni!!
Igni: “[Rotating Ember] {Ignite}”
Inside Igni, the Magic began circulating quickly.
And the rotation quickly accelerated with each turn!!
Even today, Igni has not completely mastered controlling his body at high rotations.
It was because his body would move faster than his perception.
But on the other hand, if he didn’t moveーー
Igni: “..........SEY!!” (*sfx exhale)
An explosive sound erupted, but it was not an explosion.
It was the sound of Igni stopping the Minotaur .
Magic rotated at 130 cycles per second inside of him!
If Igni took one step forward, he would most likely fly off sowhere into the distance.
That’s whyーーIgni stood his ground.
Planting both his feet like stakes firmly into the ground, he took hold of the Minotaur’s arm.
[――WoooOOO!!]
The Minotaur tried to stagger back in its panic, but it was like his arm was trapped in a Spell’s dinsion and held firmly in place. More fear fueled its thoughts, but it was already too late.
Slowlyーーvery slowly and carefullyーー
Igni moved his body gently recording every single movent, and placed a palm on the Minotaur and pushed forward.
(*sfx pop)
And a sound of a balloon popping shredded the air as the Minotaur .
Igni: “Okay! Let’s go back!”
Hayem: “......what was that just now?” Watching his fight from beginning to end, Hayem’s voice filled with nervous energy and fear as she asked Igni.
Igni: “I’ll tell you later! Right now, there’s no ti!!”
Hayem: “That’s a promise then?”
Igni: “Yeah, after this, we’ll have plenty of free ti.”
But for now, Igni had to return to Alicia.
As he promised Hayem, he initiated the [Fla Engine] {Accel Boot}.
The next mont, a black fla rose up from the city walls, covering it entirely!
It was clearly to prevent anyone from escaping.
Igni: “.........!! What is it now?!”
The black flas encircled and rose up to surround the city like a bird cage and firmly secured the Imperial Capital.
