Chapter 121: The Fetus and the Wizard
Igni’s 5 senses are extrely sharp. That is because he could only use the Spell {Fireball}, so he had to continue to improve anything outside of Spells that he could get his hands on. That’s why he could follow his nose and trace back the burning stench that was the sll of human stagnation, and returned to the original large room they were in before.
“Over here!”
The “Black and White” Sisters were already engaged with the enemy.
They could hear the sounds of battle from afar.
But Igni and Elina could not help but pause and hesitate for a mont when they saw “that.”
Elina: “What…….is that………?” Igni: “......! Don’t stop, Elina!”
With lightning fast reflexes, Igni shoved Elina away, and kicked the ground as they parted from one another. The next instant, , sothing invisible dropped where the two were just standing. Glancing behind him, Igni saw that there was a large hand print left behind.
Rania: “Be careful! You can’t see its attacks!”
Igni: “Got it!”
The Elder Sister, Rania, shouted out orders as Igni obediently followed them and ran forward. The “thing” had an abnormally engorged head and had the look of a fetus. It was floating about 2 ters (～6.5 feet) from the ground, and its eyes were closed as if it was sleeping.
But on its head, every inch was filled with eyes and mouths.
The countless eyes followed Igni, Rania, Nie, and Elina.
Igni: “So gross…….!”
Igni shouted aloud and created a {Fireball} in his hand.
Igni: “[Equip Fla] : {Ignition}!”
Behind Igni, 5 {Fireballs} were created and glowed white with heat.
The {Fireballs} let out a tallic squeel as unbelievable amounts of concentrated Magic Power were stuffed into each one.
Igni: “[Launch] : {Fire}!!”
(*sfx)
The {Fireball} was fired and accelerated with explosive speed, and the sound of air compression followed it as it collided……..not against his intended target, but in the air.
Igni: “........are you serious?”
Igni mumbled to himself, as he felt blood lust from the air once again.
He kicked the ground and felt sothing brush against his back as it passed by.
A chill ran down his spine.
The invisible hand tried to capture Igni just now.
Rania: “There are tis when our attacks don’t work!”
Igni: “Is it blocking it?!”
Rania: “Probably, yeah! With that invisible hand!”
As soon as Rania was finished shouting, the younger sister began manipulating Magic Power.
Nie: “[Those who crowd under the earth, carve it down].”
From Nie’s [Darkness] Type Magic, her shadow suddenly exploded outwards…….! Countless small soul-like objects ca out and each one seed to have a life of its own and headed straight for that “thing.”
(*sfx tallic collision)
And instead of the sound of a Magic Spell impacting, the sound of tal grinding against tal echoed across the room.
Igni: “[Equip Fla] {Ignition} : [Anti-Armor] {Pierce}!”
In that mont, Igni saw the two giant hands that were floating in the air and pushing away the oncoming darkness. Those were probably the sa hands used for both attacking and defending.
Then, if those two hands are both defending right now, then they should be able to continuously attack.
Igni: “[Launch] {Fire}!!”
(*sfx)
And the {Fireball} that was spun at extre high speeds took a ovular shape and was sent straight at the “thing”! And impacted!!
Fire and wind erupted from the explosion and spread in all directions. Nie’s Spell pushed the smoke aside, and made that “thing” reappear.
Elina: “........SH!!” (*sfx exhale)
From behind, Elina let out a short breath. And in a blink of an eye, Elina teleported right in front of him. No, she didn’t teleport. Through {Physical Enhancent}, she drew and attacked with her sword with incredible speed.
The baby’s head was now covered in burns and two large gashes from Elina’s sword were engraved into it further.
Elina: “[Thorns of the Rose Spear] {Plant Lance}”
With Elina’s incantation, the “thing” was pierced from underneath by a giant rose vine in the shape of a spear.
Igni: “[Equip Fla] {Ignition} : [Anti-Armor] {Pierce}”
The vine would only hold it for a mont.
The next instant, it was being torn apart by sothing unseen.
The two hands were heading for the rose vine.
Igni: “[Launch] {Fire}”
Five of Igni’s Spells were slamd into the “thing”.
Explosive fire enveloped and engulfed the baby monster completely and burned it away.
Losing the majority of its body, watching it suffer in agony was not a pleasant sight.
Rania: “Everyone, on your guard!”
But even in under that circumstance, the Elder Sister Rania yelled out orders.
Igni: “On guard?! From what?!”
Rania: “That thing will repair itself!”
As soon as Rania was finished yelling, the baby’s body returned to normal as if ti was turned back.
Igni: “Hey! You could have told us earlier!”
Though Igni’s criticism is valid, Rania only responds with a bitter expression on her face.
Rani: “It’s no use! That “thing’s” body, even if we wipe out its ashes, it still cos back!”
Igni: “........what do you…..”
Igni searches through his mory. Forget its looks. An abnormal regenerative ability. Invisible attacks. Is there sothing that matches those descriptions……..?
Though he searched hard, no answer ca back.
Next, Igni felt sothing hit him from the side.
Igni: “.........! [Impact] {Fire}!!”
While Igni was flying through the air, he detonated a {Fireball} that explodes in one particular direction to slow him down and he barely landed against the wall.
Elina: “Are you okay?!”
Igni: “I let my guard down. I’m okay!”
As Elina yelled in concern, Igni imdiately answered her and a certain Spell crossed his mind.
Igni: “[Equip Fla] {Ignition}”
And he filled the entire room with countless {Fireballs}.
Igni: “[Launch] {Fire}”
ZUDODODODODO!!!! (*sfx)
Hundreds of thousands of {Fireballs} shaved and carved off the baby’s body.
But all of the wounds were regenerating quickly.
Elina: “........even Igni’s Spell didn’t work……”
Elina lets out a whimper of despair.
Igni let out a sigh as he finally grasped what was happening.
That’s why he dispelled all his {Fireballs}.
And turning towards the baby, he asked.
Igni: “What is your condition?” [.........oooOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUuuuu]
The air shook and the tunnels echoed as a massive wind blew through them.
Igni was the only one who calmly studied the baby as the wind swept over them.
The baby’s countless eyes began moving and searching all over endlessly.
[Bring it here] [Bring it here]
[Girl with blue hair] [black hair] [that one!]
[No, it’s red] [Today it’s white] [it’s not a girl, but a boy]
The countless mouths on its head began speaking interrupting each other.
[Bring it here] [Bring here]
[To this place] [Inside the mines!] [Anywhere on the mountain is fine]
[Alive] [No corpses～]
The attacks from the baby ended.
But all the countless eyes were staring intently at Igni.
Feeling uneasy from a prick of doubt springing up inside of him, Igni summoned the courage to ask.
Igni: “.........what is the na?” And all the mouths of the baby opened and in unison, it answered at once.
