Chapter 92: Chapter 092: Sorted Out
"Teacher Lin, what are you doing?" Li Yong pushed Fu Gang over and watched for a while without understanding what Lin Feng was doing. Sotis he just saw the screen constantly switching, but he couldn’t make out the content. Teacher Lin was supposed to help find Tingting, wasn’t he? What can you do with a computer? Unable to hold back any longer, he voiced his doubts.
"I’m getting online," Lin Feng simply answered Li Yong.
"I’m sorry, sir, but since this is a demo store, all our computers can only access a limited number of websites. If you want to use the internet, a cybercafe might better suit your needs," Little Han said when he heard Lin Feng say he was just there to get online. He lumped Lin Feng into the category of poor students who are reluctant to spend money but still want to use the internet because Lin Feng’s attire didn’t look like that of soone who could afford it—the computer alone cost over ten thousand yuan, and he surely couldn’t afford it.
Fu Gang turned to look at Teacher Lin when he heard Little Han’s words. How could Teacher Lin possibly get online with these computers? Didn’t that salesperson just say they were all locked? What kind of ability did Teacher Lin have to bypass these ’locks’? Suddenly, he rembered TV shows where such feats were done by incredible hackers. Could Teacher Lin be a hacker? Impossible, right? Hackers don’t just co out in broad daylight; in the movies, they’re hidden away in little rooms, afraid of being discovered.
"I know, but that’s not a problem for ," Lin Feng continued his work without paying attention to Little Han.
As if! What a joke!
Do you even know all the websites are locked? Every computer in the store is locked. You say it’s no problem as if you’re sobody special. Are you the lead character from ’The Matrix’? Such grand talk and you aren’t afraid your tongue will fall off? Little Han inwardly despised the young man who was about his age but acted as if his minor tech skills made him cool. He had seen plenty of people pretending to know tech, but it was his first ti witnessing soone so earnestly delusional. What on earth was going through this guy’s mind?
"Sir, I still think a cybercafe is better for you." Please, just go away so I don’t waste my breath on you, thought Little Han. If you were really buying, I would certainly provide enthusiastic service, but looking at your outfit, it’s clear you couldn’t afford it. Why are you wasting my ti here? Just to sneak so free internet access?
"Okay, I’ve successfully bypassed the lock," Lin Feng stated simply and then resud typing on the keyboard.
"Sir, it would be better not to boast... What!" Little Han was in the middle of speaking when he saw that the computer really displayed sothing previously unavailable, almost popping his eyes out in shock as he swallowed the rest of his words. From booting to now, it had been just half a minute, and he had successfully bypassed the lock—that was incredibly mysterious, wasn’t it?
Even if I were prepared and knew exactly what to do, it would take
about five minutes to finish, and most importantly, I, Little Han, am considered the best in our computer science departnt. He arrives and cracks it in less than half a minute; next to him, I’m like a beginner. Who would believe this? Just who is he? He couldn’t be so super-genius from the university, could he? Otherwise, it doesn’t add up. How could soone so young be so skilled, way more than !
But I haven’t heard of any ’Divine Being’ like that at Tianhai’s universities. Little Han’s mind felt muddled, unable to figure out the young man’s identity.
"Teacher Lin, how does connecting to the internet help? Is it related to finding Tingting?" Fu Gang couldn’t help but interrupt, as Lin Feng’s connection to the internet had indeed surprised him. Although he wasn’t a specialist, he understood that bypassing such a lock was no simple feat. What exactly did Teacher Lin do? He’s a French teacher, isn’t he? How could he be so proficient with computers? But he couldn’t quite grasp what the internet had to do with finding Tingting and anxiously asked.
"Ever heard of ’Skynet’?" Lin Feng replied briefly, then continued to focus on his keyboard.
"Are you talking about the public security system, that cara network specifically assisting with solving cases?" Little Han was the quickest to respond, imdiately answering Lin Feng’s question. His dad was in the public security system, and he knew a thing or two about it.
"Now I’m connecting the ’Skynet’ caras near the train station with caras from other organizations," Lin Feng casually ntioned and then lowered his head again.
What?...
Lin Feng’s words left the onlookers dumbfounded. Could he really link up the train station’s caras through this laptop? How... how could that be possible?
Little Han, a computer science student, certainly knew what Lin Feng’s statent implied. Keep blowing hot air, he thought. Just because you have a bit of skill to bypass website locks doesn’t an you can just spout nonsense. Not everyone can do what only legendary hackers can, and if any random person on the street could do it, hackers would beco as common as cabbages. It’s impossible to believe. Everybody knows hacking isn’t sothing to parade in broad daylight—who’d believe there are hackers brazenly walking the streets? That would be sheer madness!
Now Little Han started to reassess Lin Feng, who was focused on typing. Looking at him, you’d never suspect he was a hacker—at best, just a college student. And why were those two calling him Teacher Lin? He looked nothing like a teacher, just a student!
They ca to use the internet to look for soone. How could they possibly find a person just through surveillance caras? Little Han seed to have just overheard sothing about Tingting.
Li Yong, on the sidelines, was sowhat perplexed but started to grasp a bit of what Teacher Lin had just ntioned about connecting to the SkyNet caras. It must be a very difficult task. He vaguely felt like he had seen this sort of thing in movies, where caras capture people to solve cases, although those were foreign films. However, the fact remained, and now he understood that Teacher Lin wanted to use this thod to find Tingting’s whereabouts. Genius—absolutely brilliant! It was beyond impressive that soone could even think of such a thod. Teacher Lin truly deserved his title; I admire you to death!
What? Teacher Lin could connect all the surveillance caras near the train station? Is this real or fake? Fu Gang stared at Lin Feng, speechless. He’s still a French teacher, right? How could his computer skills be so advanced? Even though he didn’t know much about this, he was aware that this was definitely not sothing an ordinary person could achieve. In movies, these people are either hackers or special agents. Even a fool would understand what that implies. How could Teacher Lin, so young, know so much and possess these inhuman skills? Could this be what they call a "Divine Being"?
Fu Gang was dumbfounded by the surprises Teacher Lin had brought him in just one day, simply staring blankly at Lin Feng.
"Done!" Lin Feng stopped and took the water that Li Yong passed to him.
As Lin Feng struck the last key, the computer screen suddenly changed. Even the most foolish person could tell what that was...
The screen was divided into little squares, each showing different corners of the station. In other words, he had connected all the surveillance caras near the station!
Oh my God! How did he do that? Little Han couldn’t help but pick up the mouse and randomly clicked on one of the squares on Lin Feng’s screen, causing it to enlarge instantly. The busy corner of the train station appeared with such clarity that you could see the faces of people passing by. Not believing it, he clicked a few more squares, and each one represented a different corner and was crystal clear! They had just said that it was impossible, but here it was, achieved in less than five minutes! Who could tell
what was going on? Was it now fashionable for hackers to run amok in the streets?
I told you, Teacher Lin always keeps his word; what he says, he does. Li Yong stood behind Lin Feng, beaming with pride, as if wearing a badge of honor as Boss Lin’s younger brother.
How can he do it? How could a teacher be so good? I’ve seen quite a few movies, but I can’t believe that a legendary hacker is right here beside us, and he’s Li Yong’s teacher, no less. It’s really hard to believe!
Fu Gang looked at Lin Feng, utterly confused. How could such a skilled hacker opt to teach at a university, and with such frightening abilities and a remarkable background? Is he out of his mind? Otherwise, why would soone like that choose to be a teacher? What on earth was Teacher Lin thinking?
"Do you have a photo of Tingting?" Lin Feng asked.
"They’re all at ho, and that too from when she was little. We don’t have any recent photos. Should Li Yong go to my place to get one now? Li Yong, go to my house and get Tingting’s photo right away, now!" Fu Gang replied imdiately. Although he didn’t know what Lin Feng was doing, it must have sothing to do with finding his sister, and he was incredibly anxious. He imdiately asked Li Yong to fetch the photo.
"No problem, I’ll head out and take a cab," Li Yong said, ready to leave to help in the search for Tingting.
"Don’t worry, I have a way, no need to go," Lin Feng said, stopping Li Yong who was about to run out, with just a few simple words.
Hearing Lin Feng say this, Li Yong didn’t rush out anymore. If Teacher Lin said he had a way, then he was sure to have one.
"Where is Tingting’s kindergarten?" Lin Feng asked.
"Tianhai Rainbow Kindergarten, it’s located on Xihe 11th Road," Fu Gang answered eagerly, his intuition telling him that Teacher Lin was an extraordinary person, and that Tingting could very well be found by him. He knew all information related to Tingting better than anyone. He had to find her!
After receiving Fu Gang’s answer, Lin Feng bowed his head again, his hands flying over the keyboard once more. Before anyone could co to their senses, they were shocked to see a file of a little girl nad Fu Tingting on the screen!
