Chapter 760: Chapter 760: Forced to Show Up

Leng i received a call from her grandfather in the afternoon and imdiately felt a severe headache. She never expected her grandfather to ask her to do this, insisting that she invite Lin Feng and his family to Capital City to hold a family banquet and wedding. This put Leng i in a very difficult position.

It was not that she didn’t want to. It was that she knew there were several other won by Lin Feng’s side waiting, and if she made such a demand of Lin Feng, she worried about what the other won would think. From her perspective, she truly didn’t want to put Lin Feng in a difficult situation because of this.

However, the command had been issued by her grandfather, and he had also told her that both Grandpa Ding and Grandpa Qian had agreed. Under these circumstances, she had no choice but to bring the matter up with Lin Feng. At the sa ti, she made up her mind; if Lin Feng was indeed troubled by this, then the family banquet and wedding could be postponed. She would wait until the other won had had their celebrations. Whatever happened, she would not allow this situation to trouble Lin Feng.

After pondering how to discuss the matter with Lin Feng all afternoon, she finally called him just before getting off work and arranged a eting to talk about the issue. Lin Feng, who was clueless as to why Leng i would suddenly want to et, agreed to the eting, curious to find out what it was all about.

"Leng i, what’s the matter?" Lin Feng arrived at the cafe where they had agreed to et and went straight into the private room Leng i had reserved. As soon as he saw her, he asked the question. In Lin Feng’s view, Leng i wasn’t usually like this. Speaking to him privately like this surely signified that sothing important had happened, and he was eager to find out what it was that had Leng i so concerned.

"Lin Feng, my grandfather called

this afternoon. He wants

to bring you and your uncle and aunt to Capital City within the next few days to hold our family banquet and wedding. I...I’ve already spoken to Grandpa, but he is very insistent that our celebration should be held first. I’ve told him that ours can be the last, but he refuses to agree. Now I...I’m really out of options."

Looking at Lin Feng, Leng i appeared calm on the surface, but inside she was fraught with nervousness, unsure of what Lin Feng would think after hearing this. She had contemplated a lot beforehand, but upon facing Lin Feng, Leng i felt it would be best to tell him directly. She knew Lin Feng’s character very well. Rather than beating around the bush, being frank would relieve much of her stress.

"Is it just about this?" Lin Feng said, noticing Leng i’s anxious deanor, and felt a warmth in his heart. Of course, he understood what Leng i was thinking. She was considering everything for his sake, and he felt a deep love from her. With that in mind, Lin Feng asked in a gentle tone filled with tenderness.

"Yep, just this. I’m at a loss now, so let’s figure out how to solve this issue..." Leng i, hearing the gentleness in Lin Feng’s voice, let out a sigh of relief. Now that the topic of the family banquet and wedding was on the table, she was filled with a tinge of shyness. Although she showed none of it outwardly, her heart was in a flutter. On one hand, she was uncertain how Lin Feng would view the matter, and on the other, she was secretly filled with anticipation, hoping she could truly be with Lin Feng and beco his woman.

"Then let’s do as your grandfather says. I’ll make arrangents in the next couple of days, and then we’ll head to Capital City together with my parents and your younger brother." Lin Feng smiled gently, stepped close to Leng i, and pulled her into his embrace. Any woman who could consider so much for him deserved that much from him, at the very least. Moreover, he couldn’t give Leng i any official status, which made him feel guilty. Since Leng Hui had made the request, they would follow through with it. Ding Wan’er and he had discussed this issue before, and he had prepared himself for it.

It was just that he hadn’t expected it to co so suddenly. He had just finished talking with Leng i in the morning, and by the afternoon, Leng Hui had invited them to Capital City. But this was good in a way; settling Leng i’s matter earlier would get a weight off his chest.

"Ah, Lin Feng, you... you agreed?" Leng i was taken aback by Lin Feng’s response, truly surprised he agreed so easily. She had thought to discuss it with Lin Feng and the others before going back to Capital City with him. But Lin Feng’s consent ca so unexpectedly that she could hardly believe her ears.

Then suddenly being held in Lin Feng’s embrace caused Leng i’s body to tremble. Just as she instinctively thought to push him away, she realized this was Lin Feng’s embrace, his way of providing her with warmth and confidence. With all her tension dissipating, she rested against Lin Feng’s chest, breathing in his scent.

Having been with Lin Feng for so long without any real physical intimacy, she had not anticipated he would suddenly hold her like this. But to Leng i, it was a delightful surprise. At that mont, she deeply felt Lin Feng’s warmth and love, feeling imnsely happy and gradually surrendering herself to his tenderness.

"Yes, it doesn’t matter whether this issue is resolved sooner or later; if your grandfather has already arranged it, then let’s just follow his plan." Lin Feng clearly understood why Leng i felt as she did and expressed his thoughts to her, wanting her to know clearly that he agreed to the arrangent.

"But... what about what the other sisters will think? If it’s too difficult, I can still talk to Grandpa." As soon as Leng i heard Lin Feng’s opinion, she quickly voiced her earlier concerns. She genuinely did not want to cause any unhappiness to the other won because of her, and frankly, she did not care about the order of events. As long as she could be with Lin Feng, nothing else mattered to her.

Leng i lay in Lin Feng’s arms, feeling his warmth. To her, simply being with Lin Feng was already a joy. She would not allow herself to be the reason he faced any hardship. If necessary, even if their family banquet and wedding were to be the last among all the won – or even if it was not held at all – it was fine with her. All that mattered was becoming Lin Feng’s woman; to her, nothing else was of consequence.

"Don’t worry, everything will be fine. After we return from the Capital City, we can go elsewhere—it’s just a bit of running around," Lin Feng firmly embraced Leng i in his arms, completely understanding her concerns. However, from his perspective, it was indeed important to first hold the family banquet and wedding for Leng i. She had lived a difficult life for many years, and now that she was with him, he should consider her needs even more. Besides, organizing a family banquet and wedding was no big deal, just a bit of running around.

"Lin Feng, you’re so kind..." Leng i’s eyes beca a little moist. She felt like ice lting, thoroughly moved by Lin Feng’s tenderness. She considered so much for Lin Feng, but wasn’t he thinking the sa?

Considering this, Leng i felt a complex mix of emotions, but one thing was paramount: Lin Feng’s love enveloped her in endless happiness...

"It’s what I should do. I’ll talk to my parents when I get back—you just make sure everything’s arranged at the school."

"You don’t need to worry about the school. But won’t your uncle and aunt be upset about leaving suddenly?"

"Don’t overthink it. They’ll be happy to know; how could there be a problem?"

"Then I can rest easy. Just don’t rush your uncle and aunt too much. They’re busy with work and need to arrange everything properly first."

"You really aren’t listening to , are you? Stop worrying so much. I’ve got this."

...

Leng i and Lin Feng held each other close, discussing matters. Leng i couldn’t help but think ahead for Lin Feng’s sake, touching his heart deeply. Ti passed unknowingly, and they remained embraced...

...

The warm morning sun bathed the land in a gentle glow, while the air carried the fresh scent of grass, making everything feel so soothing and pleasant. Yet at this serene mont, Nangong Villa was visited by unwelco guests.

Just two days ago, the Li Family had successfully absorbed both the Kong and Yu Prominent Families. Afterwards, the Ancestor of Li Family, Li Deming, issued an ultimatum to the Nangong Clan, giving them three days to make a final decision. So early this morning, Li Deming led his people directly to Nangong Villa, demanding the Nangong Clan’s final response.

When the group from the Li Family appeared at the gate of Nangong Villa, the entire Nangong Clan was thrown into a frenzy, quickly summoning Nangong He, the Ancestor of the Nangong Family. Faced with a figure like Li Deming, only Nangong He could possibly suffice; no one else from the Nangong Family would do.

The mont Nangong He heard that the Li Family had arrived at the gates of the villa, his expression darkened instantly. He had anticipated such a day, but not that it would co so swiftly. With a helpless shake of his head, Nangong He stepped out of his room and headed toward the gates, all the while pondering strategies. He truly wasn’t sure he could stand against Li Deming’s power. What should he do? Nangong He had only one bottom line: no matter what, he couldn’t let the Nangong Family be absorbed by the Li Family like the other Prominent Families.

With this thought, his expression turned grim, determined that today, no matter what, he would not let Li Deming succeed. The Nangong Family could not be devoured by the Li Family—he would fail his ancestors! Yet exactly how to proceed, he did not know; he could only take it one step at a ti. Besides, the Nangong Family had its trump cards as well.
