Chapter 609: Chapter 609: World University Summit (Second Update)
"Wan’er, what’s happened?" Lin Feng asked softly, sitting on the reception couch.
"Ah, during the ti you were away, Cui Jinhao from H Country’s Six Star Group has been pestering
nonstop. I told him I have a fiancé, but he just wouldn’t give up. It’s so annoying." Ding Wan’er saw Lin Feng arrive and imdiately put down her work, walked over to sit beside Lin Feng. She had really been troubled by Cui Jinhao recently, and seeing Lin Feng now made her pour out her grievances. She hadn’t expected such a thing to happen, and it genuinely upset her.
"No worries, I found out about it on my way ho last night," Lin Feng replied indifferently. He had great trust in Ding Wan’er. Seeing her so exasperated, he knew that she hadn’t been doing well these past days. Now that he was back, he had to help Ding Wan’er deal with this matter. Wan’er was his fiancée, and he couldn’t tolerate others harassing her.
"Hm? What happened? What occurred on your way ho?" When Ding Wan’er heard what Lin Feng said, she knew there was more to it. What did Lin Feng an? Could sothing have happened last night?
"So things did happen... You see..." Lin Feng briefly explained the incident of the previous night when Jin Junxi ca with his people, trying to use a check to persuade Lin Feng to call off the engagent. There was no need for secrecy between the two of them, and Ding Wan’er deserved to know about these events.
"So that was it, they went too far!" Ding Wan’er’s face turned exceptionally cold upon hearing that Jin Junxi actually tried to approach Lin Feng with a check to dissolve the engagent. She never imagined Cui Jinhao would resort to such low tactics—how utterly shaless! However, she felt delighted when she heard that Lin Feng had his people beat them down. To such unreasonable people, it was right for them to be taught a lesson.
"Wan’er, is there sothing else you wanted to discuss with ?" Lin Feng, seeing that Ding Wan’er was feeling a bit better, went straight to the point. This issue probably wasn’t the main reason she had called him. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have spoken so formally on the phone that morning. There must be so other important matter she needed to discuss with him.
"It’s like this, in a few days, the International University Summit will be held in Shoucheng, H Country. Yingbo University has been invited to attend. But sothing doesn’t feel right; the Summit was previously scheduled to be held in Yuegang but was suddenly changed to Shoucheng, H Country. That’s why I called you to discuss what we should do about this situation."
Ding Wan’er had just found out about the sudden change of venue for the International University Summit the day before and felt that sothing was off. She had a hunch that the change was related to Cui Jinhao; otherwise, such a sudden shift wouldn’t have occurred. Last night, Leng i had called to inform her that Lin Feng was back, so she had Lin Feng co over first thing in the morning to discuss this issue. She must attend the Summit personally, but if Cui Jinhao was involved, she really did not want to go.
"I see, it must be Cui Jinhao’s doing." After hearing Ding Wan’er’s account, Lin Feng didn’t need to think twice to know it was most likely a sche by Cui Jinhao to pursue Ding Wan’er. He hadn’t expected Cui Jinhao to go to such lengths for Ding Wan’er, even changing the location of the International University Summit. It seed that this matter did need to be settled to prevent future annoyance to Ding Wan’er.
"Then we won’t attend this year’s summit. I don’t want to see Cui Jinhao," Ding Wan’er said, having no desire to go after hearing Lin Feng confirm her suspicions about Cui Jinhao’s interference.
"No need for that, we must go. I will go with you, and we need to resolve this trouble. Otherwise, he’ll find other ways. Anyone who dares to pursue Lin Feng’s woman should taste the consequences. Moreover, the Summit is very beneficial for Yingbo University. We can’t miss this opportunity just because of Cui Jinhao’s presence, which could affect Yingbo University’s developnt," Lin Feng stated calmly, already deciding that since these H Country people were truly troubleso, they should deal with the issue once and for all. Furthermore, the World University Summit was a great chance to promote Yingbo University, and it wouldn’t make sense to give up this opportunity just because of Cui Jinhao.
Lin Feng had no fondness for these people from H Country and found dealing with them utterly tedious. Suddenly, he rembered how satisfying it was to watch Zhu Tao beat them down yesterday. It would be a perfect opportunity to bring Zhu Tao along this ti, to deal with any troublemakers they might encounter. With this in mind, he suggested that Ding Wan’er attend to thoroughly resolve the nuisance that was Cui Jinhao.
"Alright, then let’s attend," Ding Wan’er agreed, feeling warmth in her heart at Lin Feng’s words. With Lin Feng with her, Cui Jinhao wouldn’t be able to do anything outrageous. And as Lin Feng said, this issue had to be dealt with, or else it could continue to be a problem. Ding Wan’er did not want that to happen.
Besides, the International University Summit was indeed very important—it was a great channel to introduce Yingbo University to the world. If it hadn’t been for exceptional circumstances, Ding Wan’er would have been very reluctant to miss such an opportunity. And with Lin Feng promising to accompany her, she finally felt at ease.
"When do we leave?"
"In three days. Yingbo University’s delegation has already been planned. There will be nine people from here. How many are you thinking of bringing?"
"I don’t need to bring many, just bring Huang Shi and one more—that will make three people including myself."
"Okay, I’ll have soone book the plane tickets,"
"While I’ve been away from ho, has there been any trouble at the school?"
"Not a thing, everything’s normal."
"..."
...
After a brief chat with Ding Wan’er, Lin Feng imdiately stood up and left the office. He knew Ding Wan’er had a lot of work to do and he didn’t want to disturb her. After exiting, he went straight back to the French departnt at the Language Academy. To be honest, he quite missed the students and wondered what their reaction would be upon seeing him...
......
At ten o’clock in the morning, the plane from Tianhai slowly landed at Shoucheng Airport in H Country.
Watching the plane descend from the sky, Cui Jinhao’s heart finally settled. To get Ding Wan’er to co to H Country, he had gone to great lengths to make it happen, but as long as Ding Wan’er was here, no matter the cost, it was no problem. He was the person in charge of reception for the International University Exchange Summit, and all the arrangents were made by him.
So, early in the morning, he brought dozens of people to Shoucheng Airport and, after a flurry of preparations, was ready to welco Ding Wan’er with a grand display. First, there was a banner over ten ters long reading "Welco Yingbo University to the International University Exchange Summit." Next, a group of twenty people were arranged to hold flowers and form a welco squad, fully demonstrating their enthusiasm for Yingbo University. The welco vehicles were also thoughtfully chosen, bringing over his own extrely luxurious private car, and a band was prepared...
It was clear that Cui Jinhao had gone to great lengths to welco Ding Wan’er. In his view, all of this was nothing as long as Ding Wan’er was happy. He would do anything she wanted, and at this mont, he anxiously awaited her arrival.
This was Lin Feng’s first visit to H Country, and although he had seen on TV how beautiful H Country was, he had no affection for this country whatsoever. Many things from Huaxia had been altered to seem like their own here, and even though Lin Feng wasn’t a particularly nationalistic youth, he cared deeply about the heritage left by his ancestors. Thus, he had no great expectations for his trip to H Country.
As Ding Wan’er walked off the plane with Lin Feng’s hand in hers, her face was filled with pride and a sense of security. Coming to H Country with Lin Feng was the best decision; with him, she could avoid a lot of trouble. After all, Lin Feng was her fiance. With this status, Cui Jinhao had no ground to persist if he wished to pester her.
Lin Feng could feel Ding Wan’er’s mood as well and patted her hand. Then he led her and the Yingbo University delegation straight towards the exit of Shoucheng Airport. Naturally, Huang Shi and Zhu Tao followed closely behind Lin Feng and Ding Wan’er.
The mont they stepped out, they saw the ten-ter-long welco banner opposite them, along with the flower procession and the band, which played a cheerful welco piece...
Upon seeing this scene, Ding Wan’er frowned montarily. She had expected Cui Jinhao to prepare sothing, but she hadn’t expected him to go so over the top, which only increased her irritation towards him. Lin Feng, however, found it quite amusing. Cui Jinhao really went to great lengths to pursue Ding Wan’er, even going as far as organizing this kind of spectacle. He must have really thought it out. Lin Feng casually patted Ding Wan’er’s hand, signaling her not to show her dissatisfaction, and indicating he would handle the rest.
"Welco, Dean Ding, to Shoucheng for the International University Exchange Summit." As soon as Ding Wan’er erged, Cui Jinhao imdiately went to greet her, extending his hand to shake hers. He also saw Lin Feng, whom Ding Wan’er was clinging to, and felt extrely annoyed. He had already investigated Lin Feng and was very familiar with his appearance. He’d thought Ding Wan’er would be coming alone, never expecting her to bring Lin Feng. Clearly, she was using Lin Feng as a shield.
Two days ago, Jin Junxi returned to Huaxia and relayed what had happened with Lin Feng, which imdiately made Cui Jinhao livid. He hadn’t imagined Lin Feng would have such powerful subordinates, capable of defeating Park In. Upon learning that they had even gone to the police who did nothing but advise them to keep quiet, Cui Jinhao was even more incensed and wanted to seek justice from the embassy, but he restrained himself. He was no fool; these circumstances indicated that Lin Feng had significant influence in Tianhai and was certainly not as simple as they had thought, just a French teacher.
