Chapter 600: Chapter 600: This Cannot Be a Coincidence (Fourth Update)

Lin Feng was also very happy today. He accepted drinks without refusal, simply draining his glass without saying much, keenly aware of the mood of everyone present. On such a joyful occasion, a few extra drinks didn’t matter, especially since alcohol didn’t really an much to him—it was the happiness that he drank to.

Zhu Tao and Lin Feng had downed a couple of drinks together before they stopped drinking and switched to joining Wan Long for more. Soon, Wan Long and his five disciples began to collectively press Lin Feng and Zhu Tao to drink. Unknowingly, over twenty bottles of strong white liquor had been consud on the table...

...

Huang Shi was driving the car. He pulled down the partition of the minivan, allowing him to talk to Lin Feng and Zhu Tao inside. They were all remarking how enthusiastic Wan Long and his disciples had been, and that if Lin Feng hadn’t finally stopped drinking, there’s no telling when it would have ended...

"Huang Shi, have you arranged a place for Zhu Tao?" Lin Feng casually asked in the car. He had great trust in Huang Shi’s capability to handle things.

"Boss, I just got a call from my brother saying that it’s all arranged. It’s in a neighborhood right next to your place—not big, just over 100 square ters. It should be enough for Old Zhu alone. If it’s not suitable, I can have my n look for a better one tomorrow when I have so ti," Huang Shi replied while driving. There wasn’t much ti; after receiving his ssage, his brother imdiately sorted it out, finding only this apartnt closest to the Boss’s ho. Huang Shi felt it was a bit small, but it was the only one available for now.

"Size doesn’t matter, as long as it’s close to the young master’s ho!" Zhu Tao was very satisfied with Huang Shi’s arrangent. He wasn’t fussy about where he lived; since Lin Feng wanted him to settle near the house, Zhu Tao understood that Lin Feng’s intention was for him to protect the family. Confident in his ability to do so, Zhu Tao quickly indicated his satisfaction—the apartnt was fine, and he wasn’t used to living in a large place anyway.

"Okay, that’ll do, no need to change it then. From now on, Old Zhu will take care of the household matters. Thank you for your hard work," Lin Feng said, content with Huang Shi’s arrangents. With Zhu Tao, an S-level expert, protecting his family, he could leave with ease if anything ca up. Lately, Lin Feng felt he’d offended quite a few people. It seed wise to take precautions, and although Huang Shi had made arrangents, having Zhu Tao in charge was far more reassuring.

"Young master, this is my duty," Zhu Tao responded, touched by Lin Feng’s words. He felt deep gratitude and knew that following Lin Feng was the wisest decision. He quickly reassured that taking care of these things was his responsibility and not at all troubleso.

"Right, you and Old Zhu can get in touch with Wan Long from ti to ti, Huang Shi. If Old Zhu gets bored, he could go for a spar with Wan Long when he’s free. That would be good for both of you," Lin Feng thought for a mont. The events of tonight spoke volus about Wan Long’s stance, and now that they were allies, it was right for them to keep in touch. Besides, Zhu Tao sparring with Wan Long would benefit them both, and Lin Feng didn’t mind that at all.

"Got it, Boss," Huang Shi replied, continuing to drive and understanding the Boss’s aning thoroughly. If they faced any troubleso situations, they could reach out to Wan Long and the Three Stars Sect, which was an excellent advantage to have. The household had bodyguards, but in a real confrontation, probably none could match Wan Long’s disciples. With this arrangent, Huang Shi felt a bit more confident, which improved his mood significantly.

"I understand, young master," Zhu Tao said upon hearing Lin Feng. He grasped that Lin Feng wanted him and Wan Long to grow swiftly, which was a good thing. Furthermore, Lin Feng’s words made it clear that he now considered Wan Long his own. Zhu Tao knew it would be right to follow Lin Feng’s instructions. But recalling the satisfying brawl with Wan Long that evening, he couldn’t help looking forward to another round with him when he got the chance.

Seeing that everything was taken care of, Lin Feng closed his eyes and remained silent. Zhu Tao sat quietly beside Lin Feng, not speaking. He knew Lin Feng was pondering over sothing and didn’t want to disturb his thoughts. anwhile, Huang Shi focused on driving, not wanting to cause Lin Feng any alarm.

...

They were almost at Lin Feng’s residential complex when two golden Humvees suddenly blocked their way, forcing Huang Shi to bring the car to a stop.

"Boss, do we hit them or not?" Huang Shi felt extrely puzzled. How could anyone dare to block his car? He knew this car was very famous in Tianhai; even the traffic police wouldn’t dare to stop it. So how co two gold Humrs appeared out of the blue to block the road today? What exactly was going on?

Unsure, Huang Shi asked Lin Feng on instinct, since he had grown accustod to following the Boss’s lead. If the Boss was unhappy, they would just smash through and deal with the consequences later.

Lin Feng, who had just opened his eyes due to the sudden stop, was surprised to see two Humrs parked ahead. He wondered why they would block them but then he noticed the license plates of the two Humrs and had a hunch. The plates were from out of town, from the very area where Mao Rongrong and Ye Xiaoyu were from.

At that mont, two middle-aged n stepped out of the vehicles, dressed in flashy, multicolored clothes with gold hats that were dazzling under the headlights at night. They had cigars in their mouths but what was more outrageous was the thumb-thick gold chains around their necks with several shiny gems, and their hands were adorned with no less than eight glittering gold rings...

Lin Feng imdiately recognized one of the n as having a face similar to Mao Rongrong’s and instantly understood what was going on. These n were likely Mao Rongrong and Ye Xiaoyu’s fathers. What puzzled him was why they had co to Tianhai and were dressed like stereotypical nouveaux riche, a stark contrast to the elegant deanor of their daughters. The difference was just too great!

"We... we can’t hit them," Lin Feng said awkwardly, waving his hand as he opened the car door to get out. He thought, since they were Mao Rongrong and Ye Xiaoyu’s fathers, how could he possibly run into them? It seed like there must be so misunderstanding; it would be best to get out and see.

Huang Shi, hearing the unusual tone from the Boss, thought Lin Feng might know these flashy figures. With this in mind, he quickly alighted from the car as well, standing behind Lin Feng. Zhu Tao also stood silently behind Lin Feng. Without understanding the situation, he didn’t dare take action, especially since he sensed Lin Feng might know these two brash individuals.

Lin Feng’s guess was right. These two were indeed Mao Rongrong and Ye Xiaoyu’s fathers, Mao Dawang and Ye Xiangcai respectively. Although not related by blood, they were as close as brothers. They were well-known coal mine bosses in Xihua Province. Riding on their daring spirit after the economic reform, they started by illegally mining coal for trade, eventually growing their business and shifting into real estate developnt. They’ve gradually made a na for themselves today, and no one knew exactly how much they were worth. They were probably amongst the wealthiest in the whole Xihua Province!

In Xihua Province, everyone knew these two eccentrics. They were notorious for their love of gold; each bragged about outdoing the other. Their sprawling estate, which spanned over tens of acres, was adorned in gold, with golden fences around it and even the pavent in gold. They owned dozens of luxury cars, all in gold, and even insisted their dogs be golden in color...

A tabloid journalist once managed to take pictures of the inside of their mansion using a high-powered telescope. The photos imdiately beca the center of attention because the gold inside the mansion was even more exaggerated than outside. It was so dazzling that everything appeared gold. Those images were shared countless tis online, earning the mocking moniker ’Gold Family’ and drawing a lot of criticism from netizens.

Mao Rongrong and Ye Xiaoyu were speechless about their fathers’ nouveau riche ways and had argued with them multiple tis, asking them to tone it down. But their pleas fell on deaf ears so they had to reluctantly accept their situation. After their college entrance exams, they couldn’t stand being around their dads anymore and intentionally chose a university far from ho. They went to great lengths to avoid their embarrassing parents, repeatedly warning them not to co looking for them...

In short, Mao Dawang and Ye Xiangqian were the epito of the newly rich and the quintessential tycoons!

"So you’re Lin Feng, huh?" Mao Dawang, puffing out a smoke ring, looked at Lin Feng with a chuckle. Seeing Lin Feng in person, he thought the young man indeed had a handso presence and was quite impressive. He wondered if Lin Feng didn’t have a fiancée, he might even have liked the idea of Lin Feng as a son-in-law. But under the current circumstances, it was impossible to let Lin Feng get involved with his daughters.

"Do you know why we’re here to see you, kid?" said Ye Xiangqian, also exhaling a cloud of smoke. Unlike Mao Dawang, he didn’t smile, but his eyes were alight as they fixed on Lin Feng. He knew his daughter well; she was trouble incarnate at ho, and few could handle her. Lin Feng might have made a good son-in-law, he thought, but what a pity. Lin Feng was too much of a playboy to fit the bill, and besides, the mother-in-law at ho would never approve him, though it was a sha, really.
