Chapter 534: Chapter 534: Kind of Interesting
"It’s nothing, just a al, let’s go together," Lin Feng now felt sothing was off. What was Leng Hao like? He had a pretty clear idea after observing him all day, and yet in the evening, Leng Hao suddenly proposed to have dinner—which just didn’t fit his character. Moreover, Leng Hao had co to warn him that afternoon, and Lin Feng could clearly sense the hostility toward him growing. Clearly, there was a special significance to this dinner invite from Leng Hao.
However, Lin Feng didn’t care about any of this at all. He treated Leng Hao like a child and wasn’t the slightest bit angry. But now, he was curious. Leng Hao showed such distaste for him, yet he was inviting him to dinner; what could this an? Since Leng i had already accepted, it wasn’t a big deal just to have a al, so Lin Feng found no reason to object and simply agreed to go.
"By the way, did your brother ntion where he’s inviting us?" Lin Feng casually asked, not wanting Leng i to misunderstand. Having agreed to go, he was determined to follow through.
"Oh, my brother ntioned Qingyun Villa in the Western Outskirt. I’ve been there before, the environnt is quite nice, and the dishes are quite famous in Capital City. Thank you for agreeing to accompany ..." Upon hearing Lin Feng’s words, Leng i quickly explained where her brother had invited them to eat. She felt a warm gratitude in her heart for Lin Feng’s willingness to go out to eat with her without minding at all. She knew that Lin Feng usually avoided any social engagents, which showed he cared deeply about her feelings, and she couldn’t help but thank him in the end.
"You don’t need to thank
because we are together now, understand?" Lin Feng looked at Leng i and gently spoke, understanding her feelings. She hadn’t yet adjusted to the idea of being his woman, which explained her current behavior. But Lin Feng still hoped Leng i would get used to it quickly. With that thought, he placed Leng i’s hand on his arm, signaling for them to head out together.
"Lin Feng..." Seeing Lin Feng’s gesture, Leng i’s heart lted completely, her eyes gradually misting over. Lin Feng’s actions at that mont spoke volus, ensuring her of his deep love for her. Leng i’s heart was thoroughly conquered by Lin Feng.
Though it was just a simple act of holding arms, this was the Leng Family household. Only Grandpa knew about their relationship, and stepping out of the room would inform the whole Leng Family. By making such a gesture here, it was clear Lin Feng truly considered her as his woman. Realizing this filled Leng i with imnse happiness, and she walked out of the room alongside Lin Feng.
However, upon reaching the room’s doorway, Leng i withdrew her hand. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to, but she felt she shouldn’t. She was destined to be the hidden woman behind Lin Feng while Ding Wan’er was known to everyone as Lin Feng’s wife. Going out in such an open manner would surely bring trouble for Lin Feng, and she didn’t want to cause him any distress. After thinking it through, Leng i reluctantly let go of Lin Feng’s hand.
Looking up at Lin Feng with eyes that uttered no words, yet Leng i’s gaze said it all—her eyes were filled with deep love for Lin Feng.
Upon seeing Leng i’s eyes brimming with love, Lin Feng instantly understood her thoughts and didn’t insist any further. He led the way out of the room, and the two headed to the garage, casually picking a car and driving away from the Leng Family ho toward Qingyun Villa.
Guided by Leng i, it didn’t take long to arrive at the entrance of Qingyun Villa. They parked the car in the parking lot and walked toward the villa. What t their eyes was an antique wooden archway with a pair of black and gold couplets shining brightly under the lights, strikingly eye-catching, making Lin Feng take a second glance.
The couplet read: ’The butcher’s skill with the knife is worthy of attention’ on the first line, ’Life’s flavors all enter through these doors’ on the second, with ’Qingyun Villa’ as the horizontal inscription.
"Interesting," Lin Feng casually remarked. He had tasted many delicacies and visited many famous restaurants, but he had never seen one with the boldness to make such a statent. It seed that Qingyun Villa might truly live up to Leng i’s description, with flavors that were indeed exceptional. However, Lin Feng knew no one could match his master’s culinary skills; at most, the chef in charge here was also a master chef.
"This Qingyun Villa has been open for many years, and this couplet is unique to them alone. It is said that the chefs here hail from all over, all of them renowned, making the food here amongst the best in Capital City. The clientele is mostly wealthy or prestigious; ordinary people can’t afford to dine here," Leng i explained, understanding Lin Feng’s comnt, having tasted his cooking. Compared to Lin Feng’s cooking, the food here was just average—nowhere near delicious. But since Lin Feng was only one person and couldn’t be a chef, it was indeed a rarity for others to dine here, and the food was indeed ranked highly in Capital City.
"Let’s go in," Lin Feng said in response, and they walked into the villa. They easily found the Yumwu Mountain Hall that Leng Hao had booked and entered to find Leng Hao and Yuan Kun already waiting inside.
However, as they entered Yumwu Mountain Hall, they were surprised to find such a large private room, nearly a hundred square ters in size, with a large round table by the window, offering a view of the villa’s nightti scenery. It was truly beautiful and to Leng i and Lin Feng’s liking.
"Sister, you’re here! I ordered lots of your favorite dishes. Co, take a seat. Waiter, bring the dishes!" Leng Hao got up eagerly as soon as he saw his sister, guiding Leng i to sit beside him. He warmly greeted her but didn’t give Lin Feng so much as a nod, focusing solely on his sister. Seeing that she had taken a seat next to him, he waved at the waiter to serve the food.
"Lin Feng, please take a seat too." Leng i noticed that her brother was only attending to her and ignoring Lin Feng at her side. She felt a hint of displeasure and gestured towards the chair next to her, signaling Lin Feng to sit beside her. She didn’t want Lin Feng to hold any grudges against her brother over such a trifle, which was why she wanted Lin Feng sitting next to her.
Lin Feng didn’t say a word and naturally took his place beside Leng i. He wasn’t surprised by Leng Hao’s behavior at all. He had sensed Leng Hao’s animosity that afternoon, so encountering such treatnt at dinner was expected. However, Lin Feng was not the least bit angry. In his opinion, getting upset with a child over such matters was pointless, especially since he was accompanying Leng i. He gave Leng Hao a glance and then said no more.
"Lin Feng, you truly opened my eyes today. My uncle’s dical skills are considered unparalleled, and yet yours are even greater. Today you displayed your remarkable ability by curing Chief Elder ng. You must drink a few extra glasses later." Yuan Kun couldn’t hide his discomfort upon seeing Lin Feng seated, particularly because it was Leng i who had made the seating arrangent. This indicated Lin Feng’s significance in Leng i’s heart, a privilege he had never enjoyed, fueling his jealousy. He was even more resolved to embarrass Lin Feng tonight and drive him away from Leng i.
But all this was only in Yuan Kun’s mind. He dared not reveal any of his thoughts in front of Leng i, so on the surface, he maintained his usual charming deanor. Soone unaware of the tension might have thought he and Lin Feng were close.
"It’s nothing." Lin Feng replied casually. He didn’t have a high opinion of Yuan Kun, sensing that though he appeared warm and charming on the surface, he was quite calculated, which Lin Feng found repulsive. Still, out of respect for Leng i, he gave a perfunctory response.
"Sister, you haven’t dined here in a long ti, have you?"
"Yes, little brother, what made you want to invite
for dinner tonight?"
"Didn’t I tell you over the phone? I missed you, and also to thank Lin Feng for saving Grandpa ng."
"It’s rare for the little brother to be so considerate of his sister."
"As you said, sister, I still rember what foods you like."
...
Leng Hao didn’t pay any attention to Lin Feng, instead chatting away with Leng i, deliberately neglecting Lin Feng. To be honest, he disliked Lin Feng’s presence imnsely. If it weren’t for the plan he had discussed with his elder brother fraternity, he wouldn’t have wanted Lin Feng there at all. But since tonight’s objective involved Lin Feng, he would make sure to ’take good care’ of him. Thinking of this, a smug feeling washed over Leng Hao.
Leng i felt it was very strange how Leng Hao was treating them tonight. He invited both her and Lin Feng to dinner only to engage in conversation solely with her, leaving Lin Feng completely out of the loop. It was incredibly rude. Several tis she tried to change the topic to include Lin Feng in the conversation, but Leng Hao kept cutting her off. Left with no alternative, Leng i could only offer Lin Feng an apologetic look.
Lin Feng was unfazed by this turn of events and was not upset at all, treating it as Leng Hao throwing a childish tantrum to talk more with his sister. He took out his phone and began playing with it on his own.
Yuan Kun found himself in an awkward situation, not knowing whether to speak or to remain silent. After so thought, he decided it would be better to keep quiet for now. There would be a chance to speak once the food and drinks were served. It was Leng Hao and his sister chatting for the mont, and he didn’t see an opportunity to interject.
Shortly, all the dishes and wine were served, and Leng Hao finished his conversation with his sister.
