Chapter 21: Chapter 021 My Precious Son-in-law Is Here
Vice Principal Ning was also very surprised, surprised by Wang Bo’s actions and even more by Lin Feng’s reaction. If just now, he had wanted to help this young man, it was mainly because he had resolved the awkward situation earlier, and at Vice Principal Ning’s level, a simple word could benefit this young fellow, so he had said that sentence.
But at this mont, he truly was taken aback, his gaze involuntarily fell on the notebook in Wang Bo’s hand. What on earth was written in there?
Wang Bo’s enterprise had trendous developnt potential, five percent of the shares were currently worth fifty million, but in the future, they could be worth hundreds of millions or even more. If listed, worth several hundred million was possible, and yet, this young man had just rejected it.
It was only now that he truly began to scrutinize the young man before him and noticed he had an indescribable air about him, that calm and composed deanor, as if completely isolated from the noisy world. What a strange young man.
This feeling, he had only faintly sensed it in the old principal and a few friends of his. But they had all reached their peak and, with age, achieved a certain level of realm before they could feel this way. How could this young man give off such an impression? It was utterly inconceivable.
"So..." Wang Bo hesitated for a mont, took out a business card and said, "This is my business card. Our company welcos you to join us at any ti. As for the rest... I will contact you later."
Wang Bo now really wanted to rush back and get the lab to research this thing, to see what its value was, so he didn’t say much more at that mont.
"Alright, I’ll take the business card." Lin Feng, seeing Wang Bo’s gesture, felt sowhat favorable towards him and extended his hand to accept the business card.
After handing over the business card to Lin Feng, Wang Bo didn’t even bother to greet Vice Principal Ning and turned to leave in a hurry.
"Brother Lin... you... you should hurry up and follow him! Professor Wang’s enterprise... it’s worth ten billion!" Qian Xiaomao had been stunned just now, forgetting everything. Now coming to his senses, he hastily tugged on Lin Feng’s clothes to remind him to catch up.
He thought Lin Feng was unaware of Wang Bo’s situation, so he specifically pointed it out.
"The school is quite nice," Lin Feng said with a faint smile, not bothering to explain too much. If he wanted to make money, there were too many ways to do it, but he rather liked his current life, which wasn’t sothing he could find just by looking.
The school is good, my ass!!
Zhao Jian, standing by, was about to go insane. This kid must be f****** doing this to piss people off; maybe he would secretly be crying and begging to find Wang Bo later.
He really thinks he’s a Saint.
"Alright, go do whatever you need to do. Lin Feng, co visit
when you have ti," Vice Principal Ning, after all, was a university chancellor. Although shocked, he remained composed and told everyone to disperse. However, he made a ntal note to find a chance to ask Wang Bo about it and to look into this Lin Feng.
With Vice Principal Ning’s words, there was no reason for everyone to stay any longer. Chen Yun personally saw Vice Principal Ning out. His heart was a mixture of feelings, not knowing how to express himself.
This Lin Feng was truly not an ordinary person, but had ended up in his departnt. His small pond of a Logistics Departnt couldn’t possibly contain a real dragon. It looked like he would have to be more careful in the future.
"You two, co with
back to the office. We need to summarize today’s events, we have to..." Zhao Jian was both angry and irritated, filled with envy, jealousy, and hatred. He thought to himself, kid, you try to act noble, tonight I’ll have a eting until late, and see how you find an opportunity to et Wang Bo. If you miss this neurotic mont of Wang Bo’s, you’ll cry to death.
Bet you’ll regret putting on airs then.
...
While Zhao Jian was contemplating how to properly give Lin Feng a hard ti, Lin Feng’s phone rang.
"Hello!"
"Ha... Lin Feng, it’s Ding Yi. We haven’t played chess in a long while. Co over and play a couple of rounds with ," ca Ding Yi’s hearty laughter from the other end of the phone.
"Oh, I got it. I’ll co after work," Lin Feng replied.
"What after work? Just co over now, I’ll cover for you. It’s really urgent here," he urged.
"Why are you dawdling, talking on the phone during work hours? Do you think this is your ho? Hurry up and co with
back to the office. You have no sense of collective honor. Do you think that completing the task was solely your achievent? Without
sending you, without my command and control, could you have been so distinguished in front of the Vice Principal? You seem to have no awareness of being part of a collective..." Zhao Jian, who had already been bottling up his frustration, finally found an opportunity to burst out, spewing his envy, extre feelings, and hatred, berating Lin Feng while he was on the call.
"Oh, I got it." Lin Feng hadn’t intended to go right away because he could sense the urgency mixed with excitent in Ding Yi’s tone, not the tone of soone who had an actual ergency.
"I need to leave for a bit." Zhao Jian kept grumbling to himself, but Lin Feng couldn’t be bothered with him. Face is given by others, but respect is lost by oneself, so after hanging up the phone without waiting for Zhao Jian’s permission or agreent, or even caring whether he’d get it, Lin Feng just turned and left.
Zhao Jian was suddenly bewildered, huh?
I haven’t agreed yet; how could he just walk... walk away...
He’s really not taking , the departnt head, seriously. Does he really think he can just cling to the Vice Principal and everything will be fine? The Vice Principal will probably forget who he is as soon as he turns around. This detestable kid, doesn’t he know to respect his leadership!
I’m so angry, alright, just you wait, boy. Let’s see how I’ll deal with you when I get the chance.
Right now, Zhao Jian was utterly frustrated. He realized that his understanding of Lin Feng was like drawing a circle; the larger the circle grew, the less he knew about Lin Feng.
He thought Lin Feng was just a small fry, soone he could easily push around and make cry for his parents, soone who would be so embarrassed that they’d have no choice but to leave with their tail between their legs. But, unexpectedly, Lin Feng seed to know and be able to do everything, like the tasks he’d been assigned before that were ant to be a setback for Lin Feng. Yet to his surprise, Lin Feng handled them with flying colors, his plans to make life difficult for Lin Feng foiled ti and again. Instead of that, Lin Feng erged even more prominent, completely contrary to Zhao Jian’s original intentions. It was really unbearable. But Lin Feng had left, and Zhao Jian, wanting to rage, had no outlet but had to take Qian Xiaomao back to the office for tea to cool his irritation.
When he nearly reached the park, Lin Feng noticed sothing. A tall person was discussing sothing with the director of the school’s Academic Affairs Office. As he passed by, Lin Feng saw that it was the tall student from the French departnt class— the guy who had told him to go back to his seat—talking with the director.
"Director, please let
go this ti. I hardly ever ask for leave, but I really have sothing urgent now," the student pleaded softly.
"Li Yong, you don’t have to beg like that, begging won’t help. Tell , how many tis have you caused trouble since you’ve been here? And now you have the nerve to ask
for leave," the director said sternly.
"But, Director, this ti it’s really different. Please, just agree this once..." the student continued to plead.
...
Passing by, Lin Feng, after hearing their conversation, shook his head and thought to himself, asking for a leave shouldn’t be this hard, pushing a student to such a state. What was his na again... oh, right, Li Yong. Anyway, it’s none of my business. He went straight toward the garden, heading to Ding Yi’s villa...
Ding Yi was very happy this morning, not for any particular reason, except that his two old friends of several decades had both co to visit him. This was a rare occasion. It was usually tough to see either one, and today they had both turned up at his place. How could Ding Yi not be elated?
"How co you two old buddies have the ti to visit ? You honor my humble ho," Ding Yi said, overjoyed to see them, unable to stop smiling.
"Heh, Leng Hui and I got in touch today and thought it’s been a long ti since we all gathered. After a quick chat, we decided to co over to your place," an old man in a black Tang suit said.
"No wonder, haha, but it’s really great you ca. It’s been years since we last t, isn’t it? I can never find you two; you’re too busy. Only I can be considered to have so leisure ti."
"Exactly, you’re the one who has it easy. I’m tired of attending etings all the ti; it’s utterly annoying. But there’s no escape from it, no such thing as retirent for . How can I live as carefree as you?" Leng Hui said helplessly.
"Who can be as lucky as you, with a genius granddaughter taking care of the school, allowing you to enjoy a worry-free retirent? You know how it is with my lot; not one of them is reliable, no pillar to bear the weight, so I, this old coot, have to keep things steady. Our Xiao Duo is capable too, but in the end, she’s a girl, which is really ******ing frustrating..." Qian Rong didn’t feel the need to hide his irritation in front of Ding Yi and Leng Hui.
"Let’s not talk about those unhappy things. Oh right, I have so good news to tell you two, hahahaha..." Ding Yi couldn’t help but laugh heartily at the thought of Lin Feng.
"What’s got you this happy?" Leng Hui looked at Ding Yi in surprise. They had been brothers for many years, and he knew Ding Yi’s temperant well; even making billions wouldn’t make him this gleeful.
"Spit it out, what’s with the mystery?" Qian Rong was feeling down, but he was also a bit curious about what could make him so joyful.
"Haha, my precious grandson-in-law is here! Hahaha..." Seeing the looks on his two old friends’ faces, Ding Yi couldn’t help feeling a sense of pride. Compared to their granddaughters, his was truly impressive. Having Lin Feng as a grandson-in-law really brought him honor.
"What? You ****** when did you get a grandson-in-law? And he’s here? Where is he, what do you an?" Qian Rong raised an eyebrow, scoffing at Ding Yi.
"Huh?? Are you talking about that matter from years ago??" Leng Hui, quick on the uptake, suddenly rembered an incident from the past concerning Ding Wan’er’s arranged marriage.
"Yep, exactly that. A few days ago, a young man ca to see
with the letter from the elders," Ding Yi nodded repeatedly.
"What, what are you two talking about? I don’t understand," Qian Rong was a bit confused. Why did Leng Hui know sothing that he didn’t?
"Have you forgotten? When Wan’er was born, wasn’t there a marriage contract set up?" Leng Hui looked at his outspoken brother, feeling exasperated. They were almost ready for the grave, yet he was still like this.
