Chapter 1267: Chapter 1265: Locke Family
"Why must you force ? Fine, I’ll tell you everything..." Jack sighed once more, looked at Lin Feng and Chu ng, and spoke reluctantly. Things had progressed to the point where leaving was impossible. Now his only option was to explain everything to Chu ng in hopes that she’ll take him in. If Chu ng were to shelter him, it might be his only chance of survival; no one else could protect him.
After sorting out his thoughts, he continued, "I made a mistake—a grave mistake. I never should have developed the RT Energy Box, and I absolutely shouldn’t have gone to the Locke Group. But it’s too late now; Pandora’s Box has been opened. It’s not bringing benefit to the world, but destruction."
His voice suddenly began to tremble, as if recalling a haunting, terrible loss, imbued with panic. Such catastrophic consequences had been beyond his imagination. If he had known, no matter what, he would never have created the Energy Box.
"Do you know? The Locke Family has gone mad. After the Energy Box was successfully developed, they used all the boxes to build weapons, completely violating the original purpose of their creation. For this, I once had a fierce argunt with the Locke Family, but it was utterly futile. Later, I fell into despair. On top of that, given the Energy Box’s severe inherent issues, I refused to help them resolve those problems. That’s why I devised a special thod to escape, which is how you ca to see
here."
"Well, of course! The Locke Group is inherently a military-industrial conglorate—what else would they do besides military products?" Hearing Jack’s remarks, Chu ng couldn’t help but respond. For a military-industrial corporation to leverage such a technology for weapons was unsurprising. The press releases were rely a smokescreen to deceive the public. But who would have thought that even a genius like Jack would fall for their tricks?
"I didn’t expect them to deceive . At the start, their words sounded sincere, and they explicitly promised
that it wouldn’t be used for weapons but rather for the automotive and aviation industries. They even invested in acquiring several large automobile production lines. They claid that once they monopolized the automotive market, the generated benefits would be imnse, eliminating the necessity of producing weapons..." Jack’s voice tried to argue, but as he spoke, it grew increasingly soft until there was no sound at all, losing all confidence in debating further.
"Only you would believe such nonsense. A military group doesn’t make weapons but goes on to produce cars? How could you believe such a lie? You deserved what happened with the Locke Family." Hearing Jack’s explanation, Chu ng beca even angrier, not holding back in her rebukes. Any reasonable person wouldn’t have believed such tall tales, but Jack sohow trusted them. In the end, who was to bla?
"You’re right; I can only bla myself! It wasn’t until later that I uncovered their conspiracy. After the first prototype of the RT Energy Box was successfully developed, many unresolved issues remained. Yet, they paid no heed to these problems and started mass production at any cost, ignoring every warning I gave."
"At that mont, suspicions began to arise in my mind. Through my investigations, I finally uncovered what the Locke Family aid to use the RT Energy Boxes for: Humanoid chas! Only then did I realize the Locke Family had been lying to
all along, tricking
into developing the RT Energy Box. Their ultimate goal wasn’t cars or planes—it was creating real weapons, real killing machines!"
"Later, at the bottom of their research center, in a heavily guarded warehouse, I saw countless chas. It felt like I was descending into an abyss. If these chas were fully equipped with RT Energy Boxes, they’d form an unstoppable cha Legion—on this world, no army could contend with it."
Jack’s voice trembled even more now. As he rembered those super chas, his entire body began to shake. Conventional weapons were entirely incapable of destroying these chas, and the Locke Family had already prepared so many. What their intentions were, no one could say for sure. If those chas were ever deployed, the consequences were truly unimaginable. Jack couldn’t conceive of any military force capable of halting those super chas...
"What! What did you just say!" Chu ng was utterly shocked upon hearing Jack’s words. She hadn’t expected the Locke Family to have gone this far—to secretly assemble a cha army. This was indeed horrifying news. If such a force were ever unleashed, it could plunge the world into panic!
As this realization sank in, Chu ng’s face turned pale. Although she knew the Locke Family would naturally focus on military developnts, she hadn’t thought the situation could have deteriorated to such an extent. To the point where she felt the urgency to leave and formulate a plan against the Locke Family imdiately. With such a superweapon force at their disposal, the Locke Family had already beco a terrorist organization. If they went berserk, the aftermath would be truly devastating...
But just as Chu ng was contemplating this, Jack added, "And that’s not the scariest part. The most terrifying thing is the RT Energy Box itself. In its current underdeveloped state, it’s extrely unstable and could easily explode. If it does explode, an area of several kiloters would be saturated with radioactive materials. The pollution would rival—or even surpass—the effects of a nuclear explosion! I warned the Locke Group about this long ago, but they’ve gone insane; they completely ignored
and have even sold a few chas off."
"When I realized that it was utterly beyond salvation, true fear gripped . I feared that my mistake could destroy the world—that I would beco the greatest sinner of our ti. So, I secretly built myself a customized cha—the one standing before you now. Relying on it, I managed to escape from the Locke Group’s underground research center!"
At this mont, Jack’s emotions were highly unstable, his tone brimming with unending remorse and self-bla. Indeed, he deeply regretted everything. According to him, if he’d known the consequences, he would have sunk the entire project into the ocean rather than develop it!
After hearing Jack’s story, Chu ng finally comprehended the depth of his fears—all stemming from the fact that the Energy Box itself was akin to a ticking super bomb. Should such explosions occur, irreparable environntal damage would ensue, and the world itself might face annihilation from these chas!
Thinking of this, Chu ng’s complexion beca ashen, devoid of any trace of vitality. She truly was terrified; the possibility of such devastation was sothing she hadn’t anticipated...
Hearing Jack’s words, Lin Feng furrowed his brows. He hadn’t imagined that things had devolved to this extent. However, he still saw Jack as a decent person; even now, Jack’s thoughts revealed care for others, which showed his inherently kind nature.
"Don’t worry; it’s not as dire as you think!" Lin Feng reassured Jack. Though, to outsiders, this situation seed utterly hopeless, Lin Feng felt there were still several viable solutions. It wasn’t as terrifying as Jack perceived.
"Don’t worry? How could I possibly not worry! Don’t comfort ; I understand the gravity of the situation. Otherwise, why would I co all the way to Huaxia to seek Miss Chu? Right now, only Miss Chu can resolve this; there’s no one else who could." Jack dismissed Lin Feng’s words, viewing them as re platitudes. He was intimately aware of the severity of the situation; otherwise, he wouldn’t have sought out Chu ng for help.
After finishing his remarks, he shifted his tone, slightly regretful, and added, "Actually, I don’t believe the path I took was entirely wrong. If I had been given more ti to research, I could have resolved all the problems. But the Locke Family was entirely impatient—they couldn’t wait. They wanted to produce as many chas as quickly as possible, completely disregarding the consequences or my warnings. As I said, they’re maniacs—people who only focus on the present, with no regard for the future!"
"What do you want
to do?" By now, Chu ng couldn’t hold back any longer. She asked Jack directly, wanting to know his plans. If his proposal made sense, she was willing to collaborate with him.
"Go all out to suppress the Locke Group and publicly expose the RT Energy Box’s issues. If possible, I hope you can release competing products to steal Locke Group’s entire custor base." Hearing Chu ng’s question, Jack imdiately shared the plan he had long conceived in his mind.
If this were another corporation handling the matter, defeating the Locke Group would be nearly impossible. But if it were the Cloud Fund, the dynamics would completely change. As the Locke Group’s sworn rival, the Cloud Fund was far too powerful. Only with the Cloud Fund’s intervention would there be any chance of success.
After hearing Jack’s suggestion, Chu ng nodded in agreent, considering his plan feasible. However, she didn’t imdiately agree; instead, she turned her gaze to Lin Feng, seeking his opinion. If Lin Feng were to support it, she wouldn’t hesitate to proceed.
Lin Feng noticed Chu ng looking toward him. Realizing she was seeking his advice, he deliberated for a mont and responded, "Actually, Jack’s design concepts are unconventional—very different from standard thods. The approach currently pursued by the Cloud Fund is far superior, and in about ten years, they’ll likely develop stable energy that’s easy to manage."
"Jack’s approach, on the other hand, is leapfrogging. It skips over many critical points and takes an unconventional path, resulting in nurous challenges that are extrely difficult to address. But every thod has two sides; this leapfrog strategy does offer one advantage: it saves ti. If I were involved, I could save the ten years needed for research and resolve all the issues in about six months to a year."
