Knock, Knock, Knock. There was knocking on the office’s door. Deputy Mayor Xu’s secretary looked up and saw Feng Yu. He looked at his watch, and it was already 2pm!
Although the secretary had called Feng Yu to co during office hours in the afternoon, ordinary people would be on ti or even be early for a eting with deputy mayor.
This Feng Yu was the opposite. He ca on ti and did not co to Deputy Mayor Xu’s office when he arrived. Instead, he went to Deputy Mayor Zhang’s office. The secretary thought that Feng Yu had gone to Zhang Ruiqiang for help, but Zhang Ruiqiang did not co with Feng Yu. Even Zhang Ruiqiang’s secretary was not here nor was there any phone calls from them.
Xiao Sun knew that no matter if Feng Yu were successful in getting help, he would be in trouble. His boss would reprimand him for failing to ask Feng Yu to co on ti.
“Why are you so late?” Xiao Sun shouted unhappily.
Feng Yu raised his brows: “Why? Deputy Mayor Xu had left? Then I will co back another day.”
Xiao Sun was shocked and hurriedly grabbed Feng Yu by his arms: “Deputy Mayor Xu is inside. Co with .”
Damn, this Feng Yu does not do things normally. Even if the leader had left, you should remain here and wait for him. How can you just turn and want to go?
Feng Yu entered the office. Deputy Mayor Xu and Li Mingde had heard him coming in, but they still carried on reading their newspapers. They acted as if no one had entered.
“Mayor Xu, Feng Yu is here.”
Deputy Mayor Xu did not say anything, and Li Mingde pretended not to see Feng Yu. Feng Yu also did not care if Deputy Mayor Xu had asked him to enter the room. He just walks in and sat on the sofa beside Li Mingde.
Li Mingde could no longer pretend not to see Feng Yu. He put down the newspaper and stared at Feng Yu: “Do you know the rules? Did anyone allow you to enter?”
Feng Yu leaned back and crossed his legs. He turned to Xiao Sun and said: “Secretary Sun, how co there is no tea for ?”
Deputy Mayor Xu could no longer tolerate. This Feng Yu was too arrogant. This was his office. It’s the office of Bing City’s Deputy Mayor. Does Feng Yu think that he was his ho? He still dares to order Xiao Sun to pour him tea?
“Cough…… Xiao Sun, go out first. Push back my eting at 3pm.”
Deputy Mayor Xu thought that Feng Yu would stand up and greet him when he put down his newspapers. But Feng Yu did not say anything and seems like he was resting!
At first, Deputy Mayor Xu and Li Mingde wanted to give Feng Yu pressure by leaving him standing. Deputy Mayor Xu had used this thod countless tis, and he could make the other party panicked. This way, the negotiations would be easier for him and force Feng Yu to return the shares. But Feng Yu saw through all his tricks and ignored him totally!
“Xiao Feng, you should know why I asked you to co.” Deputy Mayor Xu wanted to regain control of the negotiations. He would not say much. He wanted the other party to guess.
Feng Yu opened his eyes and with a dazed looked: “Deputy Mayor Xu, are you talking to ? Sorry, I was not paying attention. I had just gone to the Showroom at Bing City earlier at noon. I was too busy.”
Deputy Mayor Xu was furious. First, it was the way Feng Yu addressed him. Other than the Mayor, other people would address him as Mayor Xu. But Feng Yu had purposely addressed him as Deputy Mayor Xu. Secondly, Feng Yu tried to act dumb with him. Busy? Can you be more busy than ?
This young brat thinks that he had so connections and money and can be arrogant?
“Xiao Feng, don’t try to act dumb. You clear know the reason why we asked you here! I don’t care what deals you have with the Aviation Factory. You must sell the Aviation Factory’s shares back to the City! The Machinery Company is a state-owned company and is a collective enterprise. This will never change!” Li Mingde shouted.
Feng Yu said with a surprised look: “Director Li, what are you talking about? The Machinery Company had been a collective enterprise all this while. Even after the restructuring, it is still a collective enterprise. Do you think that the Machinery Company now belongs to a single entity?” Feng Yu stared at Li Mingde after he finished saying this.
Li Mingde almost died from his anger. Feng Yu still dare to imply that he was in full control of the Machinery Company!
“Xiao Feng, you don’t try to avoid the topic. Tell straight, are you going to return the 14% shares?” Li Mingde asked.
“Return? What do you an? I had bought these shares with my own money. You sound as if I had stolen or robbed these shares. Director Li, you have to be responsible with the words that are coming out of your mouth.”
Deputy Mayor Xu stared at Li Mingde. How old are you and yet you are arguing with a young man? The worst part was that you still lost the argunt!

Deputy Mayor Xu does not intend to let Li Mingde speaks. Li Mingde was not as eloquent as Feng Yu.
“Feng Yu, don’t be emotional. I had asked you over is to discuss with you. The Machinery Company is the City’s most successful restructured state-owned enterprise. It is the City’s model, and the city must have the controlling stake. We don’t need much, just sell 11% back to the city. How?”
Damn, I had wracked my brains and thought of this idea to increase my stake in the Machinery Company. You want to sell to the City just like this?
Feng Yu had helped the Machinery Company got the production lines for the agriculture machinery and motorcycles. Do the City thinks that all these were for free?
Feng Yu had planned and plotted for a long ti. The current workers in state-owned enterprises were still not bad. But after 1995, jobs were no longer assigned by the governnt, and many unskilled and irresponsible workers entered the factories, resulting in the decline of the State-owned enterprises.
Feng Yu now holds 44% of the Machinery Company’s shares. But he was still not satisfied. He wants to own more than 67%, to have the controlling stake of the company. He wanted to make the company his and follow all his plans.
He was still thinking of ways to get more shares. How can he return or sell his shares back to the city?

“Deputy Mayor Xu, the Machinery Company, has its success today was because of the advanced machines and technologies I brought back from the Soviet Union. Without , do you think the Machinery Company can achieve such high profits every year? Not only this, just look at the factories in the City. These factories had an increased in productivity and beca competitive in the dostic market. You should know why these factories beca like this. Now you are telling that because the City wants the controlling stake in the Machinery Company, I must sell it to you? Why should I?”
Deputy Mayor Xu almost choked after he heard what Feng Yu said. He believed that he had persuaded Feng Yu “nicely” and the one who was being aggressive was Li Mingde. He was supposed to be the good guy and Li Mingde the bad guy today. He thought that even if Feng Yu does not agree, he would also step back a little. But he never expects Feng Yu to be so firm!
Deputy Mayor Xu knew the reason for the significant changes in the City’s industrial developnt. This was because of the cheap advanced machinery and technologies from the Soviet Union. All the old equipnt were replaced and sold. Although the City had paid so money, most of it was using banks loans with the City as guarantor.
Now, the city’s industries were revitalized and slowly returning back to its peak.
Feng Yu had played a part in all these and can be said that all these were attributed by Feng Yu!
Now Feng Yu asked him why should he sell and Deputy Mayor Xu does not know how to answer. But in his heart, he stubbornly felt that this was for the good of the City and the City’s residents. He must continue to force Feng Yu!
