"Why didn’t I think of that? I could’ve died!"
The gaze coming from behind the glassy exterior of Qin Yun’s mask was laced with suspicion, pity, and amazent.
Nevertheless, he imdiately left Han Xuhan in his stupor and started to decipher all the texts he could find around them.
Han Xuhan sighed after breaking out of his daze. The only reason he had overlooked such a dangerous possibility was the lore of the Holy Land, revealed by his Golden Token.
If he hadn’t taken that line about qi being absorbed by the tomb seriously, he might not have done it.
He had to be more careful in the future. What was done was done. Not seeing any use in lanting over his risky feat, Han Xuhan started walking around the walls and deciphering the ’law fragnts’ on them.
Hours passed as both partners worked tirelessly, unbeknownst to the rest of their competitors.
Perhaps the sun had already risen in the real world outside the portal, and the sun in this world may have gone down the horizon.
Han Xuhan and Qian Yun were relentless in their pursuit of new knowledge. Both of them noticed the excitent in each other’s eyes as they managed to figure out more and more secrets regarding this stadium.
There were countless bizarre statents, AKA, ’Laws’ written on the walls. From smiting powerful cultivators for any powerful moves, to restricting all sorts of destructive behaviors... The variety of punishnts gave Han Xuhan a lot to think about.
Nearly four hours later, Han Xuhan exhausted himself and lay on the ground beside Zhanxian. Qian Yun decided to take a break as well and ca to sit beside them.
The rest of the occupants in the spherical stadium had either given up or stubbornly kept trying to find out what was so special about this place. Han Xuhan ntally praised them for their industrious nature.
No wonder these guys could rise above normal mortals and cultivate their body and mind toward a higher degree of existence. They’d surely discover the thod sohow, be it through luck or deduction.
In the world of cultivators, few were useless or diocre by normal standards. Everyone had entered this world of wonders simply because they were special people themselves.
"Here are the last two I’ve deciphered just now. Take a look."
Qian Yun stretched out a piece of paper again from his pocket, attracting Han Xuhan’s gaze towards that inner part of his robe.
Was this guy carrying around an entire stationary shop in there? Where did those full quills and blank papers keep coming from?
So useful!
Han Xuhan took the paper from him and read the contents.
Suddenly, one of the keywords on that paper slipped into a missing piece of the puzzle this place had created in his mind.
[ Any soul at or above the Soul Reformation realm shall be struck with a ntal demon inducing lightning upon attempting to harm, deactivate, oppose, or nullify any law fragnts in this circle of laws. ]
[ Any law fragnt that attempts to deactivate, nullify, destroy, or act against the primary functions of the law fragnts herein shall be nullified, and the operator of that law fragnt shall be struck with a Spirit Obliteration Tribulation. The number of lightning strikes will depend on the cultivation level of the offender. ]
These were the last two law fragnts Qian Yun had deciphered.
For quite a while, Han Xuhan had been pondering what the actual purpose of this stadium was.
How were the cultivators who wanted to break past this stage of the so-called ’inheritance test’ supposed to really find a clue to what lay ahead of them?
What was even the point of wasting so much of their precious ti and risking their lives with no imdiate incentives being offered?
Perhaps the answer lay within the law fragnts they were studying.
But even then, a question remained. Since these law fragnts were created as obstacles on their journey deeper into the foggy region, did that an that these law fragnts were actually active?
But who was keeping them active? And for how long have they been doing it?
The law fragnts seed to be targeting any creature stronger than the Physique Transformation realm. Laws that laid restrictions on lower-level cultivators were rare. So far, the two of them had only found four of such law fragnts.
Why was it so?
This detail could be explained with the reasoning that the cultivators who created this obstacle did not want other powerful cultivators to enter and steal their inheritance.
Setting this deducted conclusion aside, Han Xuhan also analyzed the situation based on the lore of the Holy Land. The dragon had supposedly created a massive chanism targeting the colluder. Could this stadium be a part of this design?
From their deciphered texts so far, it was apparent that if these law fragnts were active, no cultivator above the Physique Transformation realm would stand a chance at entering the foggy area without being instantly obliterated by all sorts of terrifying punishnt chanisms.
Even touching the walls would result in a deadly outco for powerful cultivators!
However, what if those powerful cultivators sent sobody weaker than them, sobody like Han Xuhan, whose only strength was a shallow Mystic Art; who could enter this place and destroy the law fragnts and steal the inheritance for his master?
It was as if the designers of this stadium had foreseen this very outco and planted a law fragnt that forbade cultivators below the Soul Reformation realm from ssing with the law fragnts here!
Did they want anyone to enter this world fragnt or not?
Just as Han Xuhan was about to decide that the latter conclusion was more likely, he recalled a new detail, and it made him shiver again.
He rembered the first law fragnt he had deciphered by accident. Why did it have an unfinished appearance?
He quickly stood up and went to revisit it. Indeed, this detached ’law fragnt’ ended with an incomplete clause, as if the creator of the sentence had forgotten to carve the rest of the words in there.
This could very possibly have been a crucial law. Its absence may have created the paradox here!
