The contents of the shout made Han Xuhan take a strong pause.
That was a very suspicious shout. It was the kind of shout an enemy would make to lure his targets into an ambush. Or was he overthinking things?
Mu Ran’s original intention was not to respond to nature’s call, but to fool the enemy stalking them into thinking that his defenses were lowered, suitable for an attack.
So why would he end up actually peeing? However, the question seed a little ridiculous even in his mind. Feeling iffy about the whole thing, Han Xuhan decided to move carefully.
Instead of running toward the source of the shout like he had wanted to initially, Han Xuhan ran at a moderate pace. Shen Kai didn’t seem to have understood the problematic situation and ran like the wind, only to realize that despite the impressive stomping on the ground that made it seem like he was running as fast as possible, Han Xuhan was actually falling behind slowly.
But in the heat of the mont, Shen Kai didn’t care and kept running. Soon, Han Xuhan was dozens of ters behind Shen Kai in the dark forest.
A few monts later, Shen Kai’s gasp ca from ahead. Han Xuhan focused all of his concentration on grasping the details of what lay ahead.
In front of them was a small clearing amidst the trees, an area of about a hundred square ters that lacked the shrubs and trees common in its surroundings. Under the gleaming moonlight, Mu Ran stood at the edge of the clearing, his excited face visible even from a distance.
"An underground entrance? Where?"
Shen Kai huffed as he stopped beside Mu Ran and peered closely at the clearing.
"Look at the middle of the clearing, can’t you see it?" Mu Ran spoke in a hushed tone. Reaching his side, Han Xuhan squinted at the spot he was pointing towards.
"...That’s a squirrel," Shen kai answered.
"Exactly. Do you know what it’s doing there?" Mu Ran asked back smugly.
"...I don’t know. It’s just sitting there," Shen Kai sounded even more confused, reflecting Han Xuhan’s thoughts.
"Exactly. Why is a squirrel sitting on the ground? And why is its fur wet?"
"Boss, I thought you ca here to pee, not to get drunk."
"Underling Xuhan, you really like to kill the fun in everything. Pay attention! When I was trying to bait the enemy into attacking while pretending to pee, I realized that I really needed to pee.
"So, I just stood at the edge of this clearing, set up a few traps, and then started peeing for real. I did it standing up, like a real man!"
"...." Shen Kai exchanged an odd look with Han Xuhan.
"...." Han Xuhan replied to his silent question with a silent answer.

Han Xuhan and Shen Kai were both stunned into silence. The sudden shift from a farcical tale to a brilliant analysis was quite a whiplash.
Now that he thought about it, Mu Ran was probably making up sothing ridiculous to hide his real tracking thod. How could a woman chase a squirrel while peeing?
Impossible! Han Xuhan couldn’t even imagine-oh well, he could imagine it, but... Ahem.
"...How... How are you sending your qi down there?" Han Xuhan finally asked.
"Through that squirrel, of course. While the squirrel was running, the splashes of piss it got hit by were also imbued with my qi. It ca up to see if I was still here, and I imdiately caught it like I caught that fish from the river.

"Boss, are you sure that this isn’t a trap specifically set for us? I an, look at how conspicuous it is. It’s literally screaming- I am a trap! Co fall for !"
"Do you even listen to the words that co out of your mouth, underling Xuhan? I’m a trap, co fall for ? That sounds so perverted outside this context! How can such words be spoken by a gentleman?"
Han Xuhan really wanted to beat up his cross-dressing boss.
