[ Detected that Host has fostered a passable connection with a child of destiny. Issuing Quest... ]
The silver book of Secondary was brought in front of his vision. A blank new page was displayed for a mont before writings began to appear over the misty background.
[ Quest Na: Mu Ran’s Last Pillar ]
[ Quest Description: Soone who’s ready to rain chaos upon the world would never fear danger. What they fear is not having pillars to rely on in the face of the danger. Mu Ran is in need not only of personal strength, but also of helping hands just as capable. Do you think you can beco the final pillar for this child of destiny? ]
[ Quest Difficulty: Very Hard ]
[ Quest Rewards: (1) 120 Survival Points; (2) An unorthodox Mystic Art; (3) A rare foundation; (4) A connection to a fallen Anti-Celestial ]
[ Warning: Earning reward (4) is a highly circumspect outco and is associated with risks far beyond Host’s current capabilities. Bewareof biting off more than you can chew. ]
This was the first [ Very Hard ] grade quest in Han Xuhan’s experience. The number of rewards was not only high, the rewards themselves were highly attractive.
There was one detail that bothered him a little, though. Only one out of the four rewards was considered problematic enough to trigger a warning, whereas in the quests connected to Xuanyuan Zhou and Xiao Wu, most rewards ca under a warning.
Yet, those quests were only graded as [ Hard ] in terms of difficulty.
Didn’t this an that whatever this fourth reward was, getting it would not only be far harder than anything else on the roster, but it would also be far more dangerous?
Judging by its brief description, it did sound terrifying in the grand sche of things. Celestials ruled the heavenly court and controlled the heavenly dao of this world.
What the hell was even an Anti-Celestial? Their sworn enemy?
Whatever, there are still three other rewards I can easily get. And all three seem to be within my grasp already!
120 Survival Points? That’ll co the mont the basic requirents are fulfilled.
An unorthodox Mystic Art? Mu Ran just gave it to !
A rare foundation in cultivation? Mu Ran just promised that he could guide towards that if I agreed to his offer.
All Han Xuhan needed to do was nod his head and agree to beco... an underling, a sidekick who’d have to sacrifice his dignity to boost the protagonist’s ego.
Would he, a transmigrated enigma, a system-carrying Extra, a heavenly anomaly, stoop so low for crumbs of benefits thrown out by the protagonist?
Hell yeah!
Han Xuhan didn’t even need to use the Silver Token to make this choice. Since the quest had been issued, he couldn’t let it slip away.
"Brother Ran... I’m flattered that you think so highly of . But if I may ask, what exactly do you expect to do as your underling?"
Showing that he was curious about this role was already a surrendering move in Mu Ran’s eyes. With a glowing countenance, (s)he began to explain.
"Aren’t you attending to your current master’s needs every day? From what you’ve told , it doesn’t seem like you have much to do, thanks to the residential package she paid for. So you can assist both her and at the sa ti!
"Of course, I won’t ask for much either. Just do so odd jobs for from ti to ti, things that aren’t convenient for a person of my stature. I want to lie low in this sect for a while to avoid unwanted attention, you see?"
A protagonist wanting to lie low? Haha, haha, hahahahahah!
"I understand, I understand," Han Xuhan said with a dry laugh.
He understood perfectly now what the system had ant when it titled the quest as [ Mu Ran’s Last Pillar ]. Mu Ran wanted him to beco a pillar that would assist him in conducting every shady business he did during his stay in the sect.
But it wasn’t as if he could refuse the offer. This was the goodwill of the protagonist. He had to ensure that the incidental benefits fell into his hands so that he could kickstart his real cultivation journey.
As a transmigrator, he would naturally not be satisfied with diocre techniques and limited resources for cultivation. His system didn’t seem to be of any use in this regard, but it did a fine job by linking him to these children of destiny.
Mu Ran, Xuanyuan Zhou, and Xiao Wu, all three of them were his gateways to secrets and techniques beyond the reach of an ordinary cultivator!
"So, have you made up your mind?" Mu Ran asked.
"Once you accept this, there will be no going back, please understand this. I value loyalty over all else! We’ll be partners for life! For better or worse, we’ll guard each other’s secrets and grow together to dominate the world of cultivation!"
Why did his words seem to resemble marital vows...?
Hiding the awkward feeling in his heart, Han Xuhan nodded and saluted Mu Ran sincerely.
"I accept! From this day forth, I am Brother Ran’s most trusted confidante in this sect!"
Mu Ran’s smile was as bright as the golden evening sun. Han Xuhan could almost see the feminine charm hidden under the androgynous features, leaving him feeling more awkward than ever.
Was he fated with the role of serving pretty ladies in the world of cultivation? Barely two days into the sect and the counter had already reached two!
Oh well, as long as there was no male protagonist to fuck up the platonic peace...
...No, wait a damn second.
Han Xuhan recalled the few Chapters he had read about Mu Ran’s early adventures. If that yuri-baiting the was still present, there would be no platonic peace.
He would need to warn Xuanyuan Zhou using more explicit words for sure!
