"Force type laws have a higher potential for destruction in comparison to the other four types. This is because even the smallest change in the attributes or the degree of the forces active around us can destabilize nature as we know it.
"To understand this, you have to study in depth about the forces that run the world. They can be categorized based on their attributes, going from fundantal forces to composite forces. Every other century, soone discovers a new type of force hidden in nature, which redefines our understanding and application of Force Type laws.
"As an initiate law cultivator, studying most of the fundantal forces is tough. They are hard to perceive and even harder to experint with due to the level of knowledge and power required to ddle with such forces. But there are exceptions.
"The easiest starting point when it cos to studying these fundantal forces of nature is gravitational force, which is why I’ve been repeatedly using it as an example in my lectures.
"Everyone is naturally familiar with it, and there are innurable mystic arts and experintal records tied to the manipulation of gravitational force. So I don’t see the need to waste everyone’s ti elaborating on its nature.
"Instead, I’ll give you all a small assignnt. Go to the Archives Pavilion and do so research by yourselves. This will prepare you for my next lesson, as it will delve into a practical guide to cultivating force-type laws."
Concluding her speech, Xuanyuan Zhou quickly disappeared from the sight of the crowd, using the cover of the shadows growing around the mountains with sundown.
No one had caught on to her real identity yet. And Han Xuhan didn’t intend to let the secret out of the bag anyti soon.
It was a pretty good session, this one. Xuanyuan Zhou hadn’t veered too far off the script of the lecture material, not that she had much choice. They had to avoid violating the contract of sale of the manual.
So disseminating any information regarding the practical cultivation part before anyone purchased the manuals was a big no-no.
As the crowd began to leave the foot of the mountain, Han Xuhan wrote down his own understanding of the Force-type law technique on a cheap scroll. As a transmigrator who had made his way through more than a decade’s education, his perspective and starting point were different compared to his peers.
Of course, he wasn’t foolish enough to believe that the college-level theories of physics he had learned were all fully accurate or complete. Cultivation and science had their nuanced paths.
The advantages and disadvantages on both sides were unique. Whoever took either side as the absolute standard would be starting off on the wrong foot.
And more importantly, he wasn’t sure if the theories and principles of physics supposed correct on Earth were equally applicable in this world of cultivation. Hell, he wasn’t even sure if this world of cultivation was a real thing.
He had all the reasons to suspect that he was trapped in a hallucination wrapped around garbage-tier fiction. The laws of physics might very well depend on his own deluded mind.
"Hey, mind coming down from there? We have sothing to discuss, fellow disciple Xuhan!"
Han Xuhan looked up from the scroll, startled by the call. At the foot of the tall mound he was sitting on, a small group of disciples had gathered at so point, led by an unfamiliar face.
"I cannot help you with anything related to the mysterious technique, fellow disciples. As you can see..." He raised up the scroll, "I’m taking notes myself alongside you guys."
"Nobody’s asking about the technique," the leader of the group said gruffly.
"And I am not your fellow disciple. I am Chen Yan from the Starheart Mountain Peak, a disciple of the senior generation."
"Oh?!" Han Xuhan imdiately put down his materials and jumped off the mound, not sticking the landing very well.... Well, that was an understatent. He ended up falling on his ass disastrously, part of which was intentional.
One could resort to a vast array of psychological tricks to gauge the general attitude of a stranger towards him. The effects of such tricks sotis were magnified further when the strangers ca as a group.
Putting oneself in a position of weakness, the sort that was bound to attract ridicule, was one such strategy. As soone who had frequently used such tactics in his previous life, Han Xuhan could make several guesses based on the reactions of the group to his humiliating fall.
As he got back up on his feet gingerly and slapped off the dirt from his clothes, he reached several conclusions.A couple of these conclusions were partially contradictory, and so conclusions could be dismissed as overthinking induced by paranoia....
But none of them carried any positive light.
ntally preparing himself for a tough ti, Han Xuhan gave a brief, respectful salute to the senior disciple. In adverse tis, politeness was a shield.
"Good evening, Senior Brother Chen Yan. How may I be of help?"
"I’m not asking for much. I just want to borrow so money from you, junior brother. I got reliable news from so sources saying that you’re the richest disciple of your generation. Why don’t you show so filial piety and help a senior out?"
Han Xuhan had expected quite a few possibilities. But the response he got was still too direct to not baffle him for a mont.
Blinking rapidly, he said, "My apologies, but why did your sources claim such a thing? How did they mistake for being rich?"
"Mistake? Hahaha!" Chen Yan exchanged a look of ridicule with the rest of his group as laughter broke out among them.
"If you’re not rich, how can you possibly afford to purchase resources worth thousands of spirit stones every week? Many disciples have seen you leaving the treasury with crates full of materials they could only dream of buying!"
Those behind him chipped in with their support of the claim, eyes shining with clear greed.
"Even I, soone who has been cultivating in the outer court for five years, haven’t ever touched so of those resources because of the cost. Tell , junior brother Xuhan, how did you afford them?"
Chains of logic flashed through Han Xuhan’s mind as fast as lightning bolts. It wasn’t difficult to guess the reason behind their misconception.
The Sect Master’s dallion was not sothing these ordinary disciples would know about. And Elder Shen, the supervisor of the Treasury, probably wanted to keep the nature of their transaction under wraps to avoid fueling rumors.
Hence, tongues had started wagging without control, spinning stories where Han Xuhan was spending thousands of spirit stones every week on those resources, not knowing that most of it was ant to be teleported to the Holy Land of Laws.
Since that was the case, getting out of this troubleso situation was also quite simple.
He could just admit the truth and show them the proof! What did he have to fear?
"Your sources seem to be a bit inefficient, Senior Brother Chen Yan. I don’t buy these resources from the treasury. I’m working under the Sect Master’s orders to take them to a certain place as the interdiary."
Hearing him getting the Sect Master involved made the junior disciples turn nervous, but Chen Yan didn’t seem intimidated in the slightest.
"I know, actually. I have already made so personal inquiries myself. I know that you only pay with sothing symbolic, and these resources are more of a grant by the sect’s authorities. But we don’t asure wealth only with spirit stones. Those resources are just as valuable, aren’t they?"
Han Xuhan’s pupils shrank as he got the hint.
"You’re asking to commit fraud? You want to give a share of the resources to you?"
Chen Yan grinned.
"Wow! You caught on fast. Seems like you’re not entirely unfamiliar with the maneuver!"
Chen Yan was correct in a way that he couldn’t even fathom. But Han Xuhan wasn’t about to tell him that. And he certainly didn’t want to share the resources!
"Essentially, yes. All I ask is only about five hundred spirit stones worth of resources, that too for just four to five months. I’ll even pay them back as soon as I can. I’m not trying to rob you or sothing, junior brother."
Han Xuhan shrugged helplessly.
"This isn’t sothing I can facilitate, Senior Brother. I don’t determine the amount of resources that I have to redeem from the treasury. The contract is between the Sect Master and the other party."
The thick smile on Chen Yan’s face didn’t fade.
"Then how co you get to snatch a bucketload of materials as soon as you take the crates ho? Don’t deny it. I’ve seen you separate your own share from the crates with my own eyes."
Han Xuhan felt a chill in his spine. This senior disciple had been spying on him? For how long?!
The situation was getting out of his control. These bullies weren’t idiots chasing after quick profit. They had prepared well for the negotiation!
