After Han Xuhan’s vision recovered from the partial blindness caused by the explosion of spell-induced brightness, he discovered Mu Ran standing still in the sa position, his body surrounded by visible, dazzling qi of innurable colors that moved together, creating a tornado of light.
Within this tornado, countless patterns moved in and out like an unending flux, connected to the two orbs in his palms, emitting an erald gleam that was slowly becoming dimr with each passing second.
Even with his poor comprehension of the language of laws, Han Xuhan could tell at a glance that those floating patterns belonged to a higher rank of alphabets.
In contrast to Mu Ran’s unhard, unperturbed state, the group of cultivators attacking him was not faring well. So of them had been hit by spells cast by their own teammates. So of them had lost control of their spells halfway through and suffered a qi backlash.
Everyone other than Qian Yun pretty much seed to have suffered a defeat in the very first round of the exchange. And none looked ready to continue, appearing unable to even harness qi.
Was Mu Ran building a law fragnt that could nullify all the attacks cast on him by snatching away the attackers’ qi? It sure looked like it!
Right then, Qian Yun’s stunned voice verified his guess.
"T-that’s a technique that can be only used by soul reformation level cultivators! Who the hell are you?"
With panic, fear, and amazent laced in his tone, Qian Yun’s ntal state could be easily understood. But Han Xuhan distinctly felt that sothing was off once again.
Didn’t Qian Yun already know about Mu Ran’s secret soul grandpa? Then why the hell was he expressing such amazent and fear?
Han Xuhan recalled how Qian Yun had displayed signs of being unable to rember the mories of their brief adventure together in the Holy Land. At that ti, he had joked that this Qian Yun wasn’t the sa guy he knew.
Hearing him repeat the sa behavior was much more concerning now. Sothing must be seriously ssing with Qian Yun’s mind. And if this ’sothing’ were to be connected to the unlikely unity visible in the rest of the cultivators here as well, then the absurdity of it all began to make sense!
Could it be that everyone here was being forced to act under so kind of ntal compulsion of a third party?
Han Xuhan didn’t get to explore this chain of logic further. Because a far more concerning developnt took place at that very mont.
A gigantic seal of light suddenly appeared over their head, blocking out their vision of the foggy sky. The seal flickered in and out of existence, giving off an illusory feeling.
At least tens of thousands of law fragnts, crafted by millions of letters of law, were linked with one another in that seal, stretching as far as their eyes could see. Emitting a golden hue, various parts of the seal started rotating on their own axis independently like a gargantuan clockwork chanism.
Each second, Han Xuhan could sohow feel a different type of law fragnt being created and activated. The spiritual pressure of these law fragnts was almost tangible!
Following the chaotic movents within the golden seal, Han Xuhan suddenly felt the qi in his ridians becoming heavy, ignoring all of his ntal commands and slowly trickling out of his body.
In Mu Ran’s case, the power sources in his hands flickered out as if the qi within them had been sucked dry. The spells that had been warded off by his law fragnt turned into pure qi and dissolved into thin air.
Mu Ran’s entire body seed to go stock still from shock as he stared above at the seal. Han Xuhan could understand the sentint. This seal overhead was doing the exact sa thing he had just done to their enemies!
"Finally! The Suppression Seal Of Myriad Laws has been acquired by the main body. The purification process must be close to completion! Ahahaha, those decades of struggle were worth it! I’m free!"
A collective of voices speaking in perfect harmony rose from their sides. Turning his head, Han Xuhan could see Qian Yun, Feng Jun, as well as all the cultivators in the vicinity shouting together, in the sa pitch, the sa speed, and the sa accent.
It reminded him of a kindergarten assembly. In less horrifying circumstances, Han Xuhan would have probably found it a little funny.
.... ... ... ...
If one were to ask Han Xuhan how unfortunate he thought he was, he would answer that he was quite unlucky, but it could probably be a lot worse.
After all, even though he had been screwed by fortune countless tis since his transmigration, he was still having the ti of his life exploring the world of cultivation, learning new things, growing more and more powerful every day. He even had a system to offer him so plot armor!
How many of his fellow fanboys from Earth would burn with jealousy if they got to know about his adventures? He was living their dreams!
Moreover, there were many others whose fates were dozens of tis more miserable than him. For example, Mu Ran, who was now as powerful as a tied-up chicken with all of his qi gone, was surrounded by the creepy legion of cultivators under Qian Yun’s command.
It seed that the seal was activated in favor of their group. Unlike Han Xuhan and Mu Ran, all of them could absorb qi and cast their techniques as usual. In fact, their capabilities appeared to have been enhanced by the seal’s operation.
Then there was his Boss Lady Xuanyuan Zhou. That poor lass had finally made her appearance after the seal in the sky had activated fully. The mont she appeared, a dozen spells hit her right in the face.
As she was also instantly affected by the Seal of Myriad Laws, she wasn’t even able to put up a fight.
Now she was sitting beside Mu Ran, similarly tied up. Of course, Han Xuhan was in the sa position as them, but at least he had been spared the aggressive beating of Mystic Arts both Mu Ran and Xuanyuan Zhou had suffered, because he had been captured much more easily.
Such is life... A hero does not always win, unlike fiction. Sotis escaping is the only way!
