"Where is Ulla?" Reeva demanded.

"I... I don’t know! The guy just contacted through a middleman...." Tula stamred.

As Tula spoke, Theia erged from the bathroom, a worried expression on her face. She had heard the commotion and rushed out, still dripping from the shower.

"What’s going on?" she asked.

She got her answer as she took in the scene—Reeva interrogating a bloodied man while Hilda restrained him. It was clear they had an intruder.

"We’re just having a chat with this guy who broke into our room. You can go back to your shower; we’ve got it under control."

"Okay...." Theia hesitated, but then returned to the bathroom to finish her shower, not wanting to get involved.

Reeva turned his attention back to Tula. "How did you survive?"

"You didn’t kill . What are you talking abou—AGH!" Tula cried out as Hilda injected another dose of pain into his body. "Okay! I did sothing, okay? I did sothing...."

"What did you do?" Reeva pressed.

"I... I think Ulla is raising so kind of cult himself. The guy has been collecting slaves every ti he leaves his house. And he brings them back to...."

"Hilda!"

"AAGHGH!" Tula scread again.

"That’s not my question. How did you survive a knife to the neck?" Reeva could see that the guy was stalling for soothing but he needed this information. They clearly saw the guy getting stabbed in the neck.

"I... I simply...." The waiter looked up at Reeva and smiled. "Did this."

Tula’s body suddenly went limp, collapsing lifelessly to the ground. Just then, footsteps echoed outside the room. Reeva glanced through the peephole and caught a glimpse of soone running—it was the waitress who had co with Tula.

His mind raced, trying to piece together what had just happened. Was the waitress going to report them to the hotel manager and have them arrested? No, that didn’t make sense. The hotel wouldn’t care as long as no guests were hard. But there had to be sothing more to this.

"Master, this guy isn’t responding...." Hilda called out.

"Hilda! Get the one who’s running outside!" Reeva ordered.

There was sothing about that waitress that they needed to uncover. Hilda let go of Tula’s lifeless body and bolted after the fleeing waitress. She quickly opened the door and saw the woman running down the hallway.

With her speed, Hilda easily caught up, throwing a knife infused with mystic power to stop the waitress in her tracks. The blade struck, and the woman froze, allowing Hilda to catch up and restrain her.

"Who are you?" Hilda demanded.

But as she grabbed the waitress, she noticed sothing alarming—the woman’s body was already cold. She had been restraining a corpse. Her mind turned gears as she found out.

"It’s a trap!"

----------------

Reeva gripped his arm, trying to stop the bleeding. The mont Hilda left the room, Tula’s lifeless body had suddenly co back to life. It was rare to see a dead man rise, but even rarer to see one attack with such ferocity, slashing him with a knife.

"I told you, you’d regret ssing with ," Tula sneered.

Reeva couldn’t help but agree. The old man had lured his maid out, striking when Reeva was at his weakest.

"Theia, shoot him!" Reeva called out.

Theia rushed out of the bathroom with a gun in hand.

Bang!

"The sa trick isn’t going to work twice!" Tula taunted.

This ti, Tula was prepared. The bullet did little damage, as he had already moved his pure mystic force to protect his insides. The second bullet barely affected him.

"Tch," Reeva clicked his tongue in frustration. That was their last bullet, and if Hilda didn’t realize it was a setup, Reeva would have to find a way to deal with Tula on his own.

Tula knew better than to give Reeva ti to think. He charged forward with a knife, aiming to finish him off. Fortunately, Reeva had received so basic combat training, though it had only been a brief session the day before.

But it was only a little, and Tula was far more experienced. The blood cultist slashed Reeva in multiple places, causing him to bleed profusely. Despite doing better than during their first encounter, Reeva was clearly outmatched. Tula’s combat experience far surpassed anything Reeva could counter.

Reeva occasionally found openings to strike back, but every ti he landed a blow, Tula’s mystic force made it nearly harmless. If this continued, Reeva would be dead before Hilda could return.

"Theia, help restrain him!" Reeva shouted.

Theia, who had been watching from the side, sprang into action. She threw herself at Tula’s legs, trying to hinder his movents. Tula attempted to slash her with his knife, but Reeva seized the opportunity to punch him with all his might.

"Agh!" Tula grunted in pain.

It worked—Reeva had imbued his fist with the raw mystic force he could generate, and the yellow mist that had seeped through Tula earlier when he had the upper hand now recoiled.

"What the hell?" Tula muttered, shocked. He had assud Reeva wasn’t a mystic due to the lack of visible power, but the punch had been charged with mystic force!

The fight continued in a brutal stalemate. Tula wounded Reeva in one place, and Reeva retaliated by punching him in another. But the stalemate couldn’t last—Reeva’s lack of skill was becoming apparent, and it was only a matter of ti before he made a critical mistake.

And he did. Reeva misjudged the distance, failing to dodge a fatal strike. The knife was aid directly at his gut.

But just before it could land, Theia summoned her turtle and manage to freeze them both in place. Tula was about to stab Reeva, but Theia’s intervention bought them a precious few seconds.

Theia struggled to maintain her power, her energy burning up quickly. If she couldn’t hold on, Reeva would be dead the mont she released her grip. Her eyes began to close as she fought to keep the mystic force active.

At that mont, Hilda returned.
