The Night Emperor inhaled deeply, savoring the air around him. It felt as though he had been away from this type of atmosphere for a long ti. The spirit world was as extraordinary as ever. As he looked around, he noticed that the building they were in was visibly broken, its structure towering over him many tis.

As threatening as ever.

"Let’s see if I can rember where I put the other half of this book..."

He looked in a direction and started traveling there. Even with his superspeed, it took a long ti for him to travel from one place to another. The interior of this house or palace or whatever was just that big.

But he arrived at the boor that was leading out of the spirit world in less ti than a normal person.

"Hm...."

As he looked at the door, he felt sothing wasn’t right. The door that connected the spirit realm to the human world was kept stabilized. Even the one that he used to get here was very stable. The only thing that could make these fluctuate was... the Book of Earth.

The emperor smiled when he realized that the book of Earth had co to him. Now, he just needed to find out who had brought the book. As he surveyed his surroundings once more, he identified a potential location where the book might be.

He decides to cut his detective journey short by using the Book of Heaven. They had so attraction to each other after all. He quickly traveled to where the book was going, all while Athan was still right beside him as a ball.

"Finally"

After climbing for a while, Jell finally reached the top. Soon after, Oven and Holen poked their heads out, seeing the thing they were climbing to. The edges of the table were lightly tilted; however, they could still stand on it.

Oven and Holen hauled themselves over to see that the monster did not eat the kid, but it was trying to. Jell was the first to get up so he was naturally the first person to run over there and help the kid.

Sothing blocked the monster from fully chewing Knaku. Its teeth were trying to chomp down on the kid, and a muffled sound could be heard from the monster’s mouth. It was undoubtedly a horrifying experience to be in there.

The protection aura was working tirelessly to get Kanku out alive. However, its light dimd with every move the monster made. It was a miracle that a piece of mystic jewelry could last so long without any mystic power feeding it. Kanku was fortunate to be in the spirit realm, where mystic energy perated the very

Jell arrived beside Kankua and started pulling the kid’s legs. The top half of Kanku was buried deep inside the monster’s mouth so he needed to act quickly. His hand grabbed two legs and pulled as hard as he could.

If Kanku did not have the shield, this situation would be much more difficult since Jell had no mystical power and couldn’t pull soone out of mystic rubble. However, with the necklace’s light acting as a barrier between the monster and Kanku, Jell was able to pull the kid a little bit.

Oven and Holen finally caught up to Jell and, without saying a word, assisted him in pulling Kanku out. Their expressions grew tense as they grasped the kid’s legs. It felt almost brutal, as the kid must have been experiencing the conflicting forces between the monster’s mouth and the people pulling in the opposite.

However, after a bit of ti, Knaku finally got out of the monster’s mouth. The kid got to see the outside world again and felt a wave of relief washing over him. However, that relief was short-lived as Jell who was holding him, jumped down from the table mountain.

"What are you.... agghhhhghhg"

It was as horrifying as being eaten by a monster. Falling freely from the sky, with nothing to break their descent, would usually an certain death. However, Jell showed no signs of concern. Previously, when they were climbing Oven had also plumted from a great height without sustaining any injuries or feeling pain. This made Jell confident that he would be fine as well.

Knaku continued to scream out in desperation, trying to do sothing in the air to soften the blow but he couldn’t. Jell held him so tight that it was impossible to move out. They landed on the ground as Kanku closed their eyes in anticipation of certain death.

However, when he opened his eyes again, He was surprised to see that Jell was safe. A second later he also sees that Holen and Oven arrived the sa way. Falling from the sky and landing in the rubble with no harm done to their body.

"How...."

"I don’t know either" Jell answered the kid before he even finished his question.

"It’s a miracle that this worked the way you thought it would" Holen ca up to the knight, his face was filled with a bit of anger. "Have there been a limit your body would have splattered on the ground a die along with Kanku"

Oven fell from a significant height while climbing. The knight had been quite restless and eager to climb quickly. However, he ended up slipping during their ascent. Surprisingly, they discovered that falling didn’t actually hurt them. Going on that fact, Jell made this decision to quickly save the kid.

"But it worked" Jell smiled "Let’s go back before the monster arrives again"

Holen nodded reluctantly, while Oven couldn’t have been happier that Kanku was saved. They all traveled back to what Holen thought was a portal. When they finally reached the clearing, the portal stood right in front of them. However, just as Holen was about to touch the door to exit, he found that he couldn’t.

"Not so fast..."

The deep voice sounds from above, drawing all of their attention. Their eyes widened when they saw what they were looking at. It was a skeleton in a royal robe with a ball of flesh by his side. They instantly knew that this was anything but normal.

"What... are you?" Jell was the first to ask. His voice was shaking a bit since this was the first monster or whatever thing that talked to them. And it was infinitely chilling than the monster that scread at them.

"?" Again, every ti that soone asked him that question he seed to be amused by it "I’m the night emperor, the rightful owner of this place"

"Thank you for letting us in, however, we did not steal anything from your castle, please have rcy on us and let us go" Holen quickly talked to the skeleton, hoping to appeal to its higher status. The skeleton had limited expression but they could feel that the thing was smiling.

"You’re funny," The skeleton said "Because you did steal sothing from ... a certain thing... a tablet of so sort"

"....."

Holen felt his heart drop. The knight shared a similar sentint. Oven looked at the detective with a complicated expression. On one hand, the monster above was demanding the book, which they had sacrificed their friends to obtain. On the other hand, if they didn’t comply, they were unsure of the consequences that would follow.

"Don’t make say it twice."

Holen gritted his teeth, he wanted to run away with this thing so badly but it seed like the universe really didn’t want him to be in possession of this mystic item. He gritted his teeth, for all the pain and sche he went through just to obtain this thing. He was about to lose it to so skeleton that claid he owned it.

He felt as if the world was conspiring against him; it seed destined that he would never own this thing. The skeleton floating in the sky looked down once more, its expression reflecting a hint of anger. In response, Holenn quickly pulled out the book of Earth.

His life mattered more than this book, as long as he lived there’s always a way forward. That’s how it had been and it wasn’t about to change. He knelt down to appeal to the skeleton more and present the book.

"I was rely holding it for Your Majesty, please have rcy and let us go" The knight quickly caught on to what Holen was playing and knelt down too, even Kanku was not that stupid and followed the water.

"Such obedience..." The skeleton floated down slowly, he was playing with them. He could killed all of them here and swiped the book from their dead corpses. However this was the first group of people he encountered and in the spirit realm no less, he ought to have so fun with them.

"Do you want a reward? I could give you a lot of money for holding onto that book for ."

"No, sir," Holen spoke through gritted teeth. It was clear that the skeleton was toying with them at this point. However, he felt powerless to act; dealing with the mystic was too risky. Besides, there was a stark example of what the skeleton could do to them right beside it.
