Golden rays of light flash across the battlefield. A sea of deer rushed in to attack an encampnt that the sun church had set up.
If Egul or Reeva had seen this army, they would have felt their souls leave their bodies. There was simply too much Enermis for them to fight. Not to ntion that there are a dozen more trees mixed among the animals. Rallying the twisted abomination and sending them to attack the camp.
However, another ray of light shone on the battlefield. and another hundred or so deer got wiped out. Tracing the ray of light one could see a woman, weling it. She expertly guides it around to wipe out another square of deer.
"When will this end!?"
She said out in annoyance. To her wiping out these pests got boring pretty quickly, especially when they didn’t have any mystic power with them. Only the trees could take a beating, the normal twisted animal felt too easy to cut down.
"Just do your job"
Another sound ca from a guy standing beside her.
"How long does it take to find the root?! Can’t the saintess work faster?"
"Just shut up and do your job"
The guy was slightly annoyed, she had been complaining all day. He would have been fine if not for the fact that she voiced it for the 50th ti already. The woman had the appearance of a middle-class girl with a ponytail hairstyle. However, her blonde hair only reaches a shoulder level.
"Blah blah blah, I’m activating my Gnosis"
"Wait stop..." The guy tried to stop her but it was too late. Her body radiated mystic power and since brightly. The golden ray of light in her hand transforms back into its original appearance of a cloth.
Then a second later, the cloth shines golden. it resembles the ray of light from earlier but the key differnt was how the effect squird around. The original pattern on that cloth changed to a golden pattern.
The cloth expanded to an impossible length and wrapped around her body like a normal cloth. Creating a pure golden dress that has many golden rays of cloth protruding out of it.
The guy slapped his own face.
"You could only use this once per day, the saintess aid you have it"
"Then she should have found the root faster. Besides you still have your Gnosis"
The woman quickly said and disappeared from the guy’s side, leaving him to sigh in disappointnt.
She reappeared in the middle of the battlefield. Her presence commanded every respect the twisted animals and the trees had. All its eyes opened and tried to twit the woman to death. But it mystic couldn’t get through the golden cloth.
"Don’t you have sothing better!?"
She scread and controlled all the rays of light protruding out of the dress. It extended outward all at once, covering the entire battlefield with a thin layer of golden radiance. The animal tries to throw themself at her and the trees intensify its look but there is no use. nothing could hurt her.
"Die!"
The thin thread of golden then all ca to life and slashed all of the animals at once. Deer, wolf, sheep, or Elkut, no matter what kind of animal it was. She cut it into pieces. The place that was now brimming with life had been slaughtered.
Not a single living being survived this battle here other than the woman. She reveals a ratified smile, clearly pleased with her own work. Then he disappears and reappears beside the guy again.
"Did I do good?"
"No, you didn’t follow the saintess command, if this was any other priest I would have kicked you out."
"Pfffft" The woman chuckled again "Fired ? A sixth circle mystic!? The church couldn’t even afford to lose one fifth-circle mystic!"
"Then don’t let catch you lacking. Otherwise, you would not get more funds"
"OH, c’mon! that’s the whole reason why I lived. Those snacks were heavenly" The woman pouted a bit.
"A rule is a rule you have to follow"
"Since when!?"
"Today, 3 minutes ago, the rules state that at the mont that Nena Grandall violated our agreent in any shape or form, she would be reduced...."
"Shut up! shut up! stop with these rules, I will be mindful later okay!?"
The man sighed again, he had heard the sa form of excuse many tis before but nothing ever changed. If she was not a sixth-circle powerhouse, they would have replaced her already. He was about to nag her again but he’s already disappeared.
Nena then appears inside the encampnt’s main building. The place was only held up by cloth, and so clever placent of tal poles to hold up the building. The saintess took one look at her appearance and sighed.
"Did you use the Gnosis?"
"You are taking too long"
"Ha..." The saintess sighed "The thing was moving at a rather good speed. So if we could lure it in then we might have the root already. Now we would have to wait a day even if we found the root" the saintess said, helplessly.
"Ah that’s boring, I will go sightseeing for a bit. Have Otoi do the work while I’m missing."
And just like that, she disappeared again. The saintess snapped her head another ti. Her day had been busy and a second later, the guy appeared inside the tent.
"Report, at least ten thousand of them had been killed and there’s no more "
"I’ve done a pretty good job then...."
He comnts again after seeing the wear inside. Half of her troubles he had to deal with was from Nena wanting to do whatever she wanted. T
"I have already narrowed down the place where the root could be."
The saint uses a marker to circle the area where she thinks the root would be. Four circles were placed around Gurarua, moving down to the Duranberg.
"Send a scout to confirm if my information was correct also if you like it you could join in too, maybe I would increase your allowance"
"Great!"
Nena’s face was blad after hearing her boss’s offer. The guy smacked his face lightly inside his mind.
