Extra's POV: My Obsessive Villainous Fiancee Is The Game's Final Boss Chapter 251 251: Fast And Furious
"So, do we run?" Thorn raised a brow.
"Of course, we fucking run." Ren had already raised a hand towards his paddle vines, trying to increase their speed. "What kind of question is that?"
"I thought you said they had a code." Thorn called out, incredulously.
"They don't attack fishing boats, dude." Ren answered.
The vines sped up, sending the boat cutting through the water faster than before.
Thorn looked around them like he was searching for sothing. "Last ti I checked, this was a fishing boat."
Ren paused.
They truly had bought a fishing boat from the town, but that wasn't an excuse.
"We're not fishern." He said.
"But how would they know?" Lilith frowned. "All they can see from afar is a fishing boat."
"Trust ." Ren grinned. "They already know."
"Because we ran?" Elias asked flatly.
"Because we ran." Ren nodded, his eyes on the approaching pirate ship.
The ship was moving faster than their boat. So much faster that there was only one outco of this chase.
They'll eventually be caught.
Lilith narrowed her eyes as she stared at Ren. "You knew." She said, voice filled with accusation.
"I did." Ren grinned. He didn't even try to deny it. "Every fisherman already knows not to run. Us running marked us as not being fishern."
"But why?" Elias asked from the back of the boat. "Why make them co after us?"
"Simple." He placed a hand on his hip and raised a fist into the air. "I want my own pirate adventure!"
Elias sighed, Thorn mirrored his grin, and Lilith facepald.
"Besides, Thorn jinxed us."
"What did I do?" Thorn asked, hands spread wide at the accusation.
"Rember? Back at the port. You said you hoped we didn't run into the pirates or the Hungering Deep."
Everyone turned to stare at Thorn.
"That doesn't count." He defended himself.
"Fuck." Elias swore. "I hope we don't actually et the Hungering Deep before we're ready."
"Damn it, Elias." Ren exhaled. "You've basically guaranteed that we'll et the Deep before we're ready. You've jinxed us too."
"Sorry." Elias chuckled, a sheepish smile on his face.
"So, what are we going to do about the pirates?" Lilith asked, yawning.
She turned to stare at the rapidly approaching ship. "They look... eager."
Ren looked up at the deck of the ship to see three Tidecallers, hand raised as they controlled the water propelling the ship forward.
They looked happy, sporting wide grins.
"Well," he chuckled, "let's give them what they want."
A vague cry went up from the Tidecaller ship, and their boat rocked violently as a sudden water cannonball exploded near them, sending a geyser of saltwater crashing into the boat.
Thorn yelped.
"Fuck!" He swore. "Are they supposed to be this aggressive?!"
Ren grinned as he sent the paddles on the left into haywire, sending the boat veering into a sharp turn that made Lilith nearly lose her footing.
"They're probably new!" He yelled over the sound of the chase.
"You—!" Thorn began, but another water cannonball slamd into the sea beside them, rocking the boat.
Ren looked up, his eyes gleaming with excitent as the ship gained on them.
Another Tidecaller sent a cannonball towards them, missing them by a hairsbreath and slamming into the sea a hairsbreath away.
"You jinxed us, Thorn!"
Ren cackled in delight as the sea ca up in a high wave that threathened to sink their boat.
"You fucking jinxed us!"
"We can't outrun them!" Elias called out.
"Nope!" Ren agreed. "But we can outmaneuver them. For a little while."
He manuevered again, guiding the boat toward a series of jagged rocks jutting from the sea like broken teeth.
"You're insane!" Thorn shouted.
"Welco to sailing!" Ren hollered.
The boat sped forward, and behind them, the Tidecaller ship followed like a dog playing catch.
"Brace!" Ren shouted.
They weaved between the rocks and another cannonball smashed into the water beside them.
A wave surged, lifting their boat precariously before crashing back down.
Water flooded the boat, soaking everyone. Thorn clung to the side, screaming like a banshee.
"I did not sign up for this!"
A harpoon struck the side of their boat, sinking into the wood and coming out the other side.
Lilith sighed in boredom at the sight of it. The tal had missed her from where she sat by half a foot.
It would've given her an excuse to join the fight and destroy the Tidecallers, but it would've ruined Ren's fun.
She sighed again. Anything for Ren.
The harpoon was yanked taut and it began pulling them back.
"They're reeling us in!" Elias yelled, cutting at the rope with his blade.
Ren twisted the boat to the side again and slamd a hand onto the deck. Vines burst through the wood, slithering over the harpoon line and snapping it.
"Haha! We're—" He cut himself short in awe as the Tidecaller ship sailed into the air above them.
They all stared upwards as the ship seed to move in slow motion flying over their boat.
They locked eyes with the three Tidecallers who were gripping the rails on the deck, grinning widely at them.
"Holy fuck." Ren swore, a laugh erupting out of him. He'd just witnessed a ship drifting in the air.
Then, ti sped up again, and the ship shot over them, slamming into the sea before them with a loud crash.
The sea ca up in a large wave as Ren's boat turned sharply, almost sending its passengers flying into the sea.
"We can't keep this up." Lilith said as she stood, placing a leg on the edge of the boat, staring at the Tidecaller ship. "Let put an end to this."
Her eyes started glowing faintly.
"No, no, no, no." Ren stopped her with a raised hand. "I want the full experience."
He surged away from the ship as it bore down on them.
The Tidecallers were now close enough to exercise precise control over the sea around their boat.
One of them raced onto the prow of the ship, maintaining balance even as the ship tilted around him.
He raised both hands, and the sea answered.
A wave surged, this one taller than any before.
"Alright!" Ren said. "Ti to let them win."
"WHAT?!" Thorn shrieked.
Ren let go of his control over the vines of the boat and turned to the others with a smile. "Relax. It'll be fun."
And then, the wave hit.
