I felt as though my whole mind went blank with the remaining strength I was fending off to fight this cold while hugging my body in a kneeling position and shivering due to the cold of the night trying to freeze to death.
My thoughts vanished in an instant after hearing that woman just break the handle of this damn door!
’Wait, wait, no, Shit’, it didn’t take more than a few seconds to realize my state as I was here inside the corridor on this cold night, lying on the ground and about to hug myself to death after being cold-beaten by this strange damn night!
Why the hell is it so cold today?
It was unusual compared to the other days I spent here.

Here, this useless system was just trying to offer an explanation that didn’t even seem logical, given I had a damn reaper on my head and I had already died once.

I was totally terrified, not because of the stories of ghosts or evil spirits, but due to knowing that ghosts in this world were different from how they were depicted in my world.
Here, they fed off people’s life force in general, and especially mortals were more vulnerable.
But the issue was the chill I was feeling, and the cold just made doubt that maybe these ghosts were Yin kinds, which were depicted as entities that devour a man’s life force steadily and kill them.
’Just kill—wait’, I was about to just kill everyone within my domain range but suddenly halted, realizing that the princess was also within the range.
I just now discovered a big problem with my domain: I could not sense entities like ghosts within it....or maybe.
’System, why can’t I sense those ghosts?!’ I recalled that the system was particularly invincible as per the description ntioned in the original plot, so how were the ghosts, which were considered the lowest entities, even able to go undetected by ?

’Huh?’, I halted as my brain processed this before realizing that maybe due to the shivering cold I hadn’t thought about the fact that the system was indeed correct; I did not feel weak or any sensation like my life force being devoured.
Wait? Then doesn’t that an these ghosts just want to establish so connection with ?
But why exactly?
"I-I can’t, I have sealed away my energy!"
Suddenly breaking out of my thoughts was the voice from within the room belonging to the princess, as her words were more shocking to than this realization of being watched over by the ghosts.

"What did you say?" I was visibly shocked, forgetting about the cold for a second as I placed my hand on the door, clearly not believing what I just heard.
I stood on my knees and tried to put my ear against the door to clearly hear if I heard it correctly.
"Sob, husband, I wanted to get rid of you, So, I sniff...."
’Huh?, Huh?, HUH?!!!’ My mind went blank as I clearly heard the princess taking hiccups, as if she was literally crying.
To be honest, if we went through the backstories of the major characters, everyone in particular had a mont, even as adults, where they broke into tears, like Olea did after seeing her parents finally set free, or Kyle after being beaten to death by Olea, and just nearly so many of them.
But there was one exception.
Princess Aleriana Vandreat, who, after reaching the throne of the Azure Fla Kingdom and killing all her brothers or sisters who were not major characters, ascended to the upper realm on the day of the crown ceremony as a figure who was cold and never cared for anyone.
A ruthless woman to her core.
And right now, I was hearing her literally crying.
’Have I been put under an illusion by soone?’ I really felt that these events, being overlooked by ghosts and then hearing the princess crying, made no sense as though I was being pulled far away from reality.
Though, of course, I was literally inside a fantasy world, but still, it was more believable than what I was witnessing now.

Getting the confirmation from the system, which was naturally true, considering these sensations around were real, I focused on the primary detail here, which was to first open this damn door and handle the princess whom I ca here to talk to in order to sohow dodge the red flag she had put on .
But not in any possibility did I expect to hear her crying, making rember the small description of tomorrow morning as per the original story.
It was ntioned that there were tear stains on the princess’s eyes, and of course, they were not as intense as she was crying right now.
It was as if she was mourning soone’s death, while in the original story, she was just shedding small tears for losing so freedom.
