Vivienne (Witch of Ti) POV
Vivienne sat quietly in her garden, watching the silver leaves of the trees sway in the wind.
The air was calm. The scent of herbs was faint but refreshing.
She lifted her cup of tea and took a slow sip.
Behind her, Kevin stood with his arms crossed and a frown on his face.
His expression was tight, like he had been holding his thoughts for too long.
"The war is about to end soon," he said finally. "The Alliance has decided on the all-out strategy."
Vivienne didn’t turn around.
"So they’ve finally chosen to end it," she said softly.
Kevin nodded, his eyes dark. "Yes, but it doesn’t feel right. The Alliance has always been cautious. They never risked too much, even when they were stronger than the Forgotten Suns.
"But now... now they’re attacking with everything they have. It’s because of that individual. The one they call ’I.’"
Vivienne’s hand paused midair as she set down her cup.
"I," she repeated quietly.
Kevin exhaled through his nose. "All of his plans are working flawlessly. Two Generals of the Forgotten Suns are already dead. And by the looks of it, Ilyana Veycoris-Drasthel will fall within a week. Her entire kingdom will crumble."
Ilyana Veycoris-Drasthel was known to be second to only the Leader of Forgotten Suns, and the Godkiller Zeus.
It was surprising to think she and her kingdom would fall in a week.
He paused, then continued, "Zeus has already been reported as slain. And if that’s true, then only the Leader of the Forgotten Suns and a few others are left. The war might be over in a month."
"If the war is ending, isn’t that a good thing?" Vivienne smiled faintly.
"It is. But sothing feels strange."
He looked at her.
"Can you check the future? Just to make sure nothing is wrong?"
Vivienne shook her head. "You know my Authority has weakened. I can’t see much anymore."
"I know, but even a small glimpse—"
"Besides," she interrupted gently, "it wouldn’t help. I can’t see the future right now."
Kevin blinked.
"What do you an?"
"I an," she said, putting her cup down, "a Dark Age has begun. I can’t use my powers to look into the future at all."
Kevin froze.
The words took a mont to sink in.
"A... Dark Age?"
Vivienne nodded slowly.
"When did it start? And why didn’t you tell sooner?" he asked, his voice rising slightly.
"It began a few weeks ago," she said calmly.
He took a step closer, looking worried.
"You are sure?"
"I’m sure."
Kevin fell silent, his hands curling into fists.
Dark Ages were rare.
They were periods of ti when the flow of ti itself beca chaotic.
No one could look into the future or the past of the period of ti known as Dark Age.
For soone like Vivienne, who carried the title of Witch of Ti, it was the sa as being blind.
Even she wasn’t immune to it.
It was the sa thing that had happened during the First Divine War.
That was why she couldn’t show Neo the entire war, and she only showed up to a certain point when the Devil of Ti t the Witch of Darkness.
After that, she could no longer look into that ti period.
That had been the first Dark Age.
Now, another one had begun.
Vivienne’s eyes lowered as she thought.
’This dark age feels different.’
’I should be able to see what happens after it ends, but I can’t. The future beyond it... it’s completely blank.’
Normally, she would at least see fragnts of what ca after a dark age.
These fragnts were rarely accurate, but they were still visible.
This ti, there was nothing.
That ant one of two things.
Either ti itself had been broken forever, or...
’I might die before it ends,’ she thought with a small, sad smile.
The thought didn’t scare her.
In fact, there was a strange peace in it.
’Perhaps this is for the best.’
She looked over her shoulder at Kevin.
He was pacing now, muttering to himself, thinking about warning the Alliance.
Vivienne watched him quietly.
A faint smile appeared on her lips.
It was an expression she never showed to anyone expect Kevin after her Authority was stolen.
’He will be finally free.’
"If the Dark Age has started, we need to warn the Alliance imdiately. The ti mages will lose their ability to see through ti soon. They should be prepared," Kevin’s voice broke her thoughts.
He turned to her again and stopped.
Her expression was soft, almost happy.
"Why are you looking at like that?"
Vivienne leaned back in her chair, her eyes narrowing with amusent. It felt like she had returned to the happy tis when she used to smile all the ti.
"Nothing," she said lightly. "I’m just happy."
Kevin looked confused.
"Happy? At a ti like this?"
"Yes. Can’t I be?" She chuckled softly.
He sighed. "You’re too calm even when everything’s falling apart."
"That’s because panicking won’t help," she said.
He didn’t respond.
Instead, he looked at the garden, the way the flowers swayed even though there was no wind now.
The silence between them stretched for a mont.
Finally, he said, "Do you think this Dark Age ans sothing? Like... is it connected to this ’I’ sohow?"
Vivienne took another sip of tea, her eyes distant. "Maybe. Every Dark Age begins when sothing that shouldn’t exist interferes with ti."
During the First Divine War, a Dark Age started when the Devil of Ti used his Singularity to make sure the Monarch of Death couldn’t see into future and predict their plans.
Or so everyone had thought.
It was only at the end of the war that everyone ca to the horrific realization as to why the Dark Age had actually started.
Kevin looked down.
His mind was replaying the scenes of the First Divine War rember.
A war that tore apart the heavens.
Dozens of Supres were slain. Empires collapsed. The Cosmos was brought to the brink of destruction.
And at the center of it all, ti itself had shattered.
All because the Devil of Ti and the alliance of Witches, Demons, and Supres he gathered believed they could defeat the Absolute Monarch.
