Due to the rapid decline of the irregular fissure appearances, generally, the rankers in Arcanora were allowed so much needed breathing space.
However, at the sa ti, due to the discussions in the global conference four months back, everyone in Arcanora was inford that this, was just a temporary state of peace.
Their King, Arthur Adencia, Julius Hargreaves and Duke Belmont had stated, after all, that it was just a calm before the storm mont.
As at the ti, maybe the things they had discussed with the leaders of other nations had seed a bit too pessimistic but, judging by the noticeable reddish-cracks in the sky, one where despite looming over them, seed to be doing nothing just yet, further drove their statents ho.
As a result, starting this particular month of temporary peace, the Nations of Arcanora had rapidly begun to build multiple underground bunkers across the expanses of their land.
In addition to that, every three-day interval, there was a worldwide drill session for their non-ranker civilians, one where both young and old alike, were forced to partake in.
This drill, detailed how exactly they would go about moving to the underground bunkers in the most optimal and efficient ways, all of which would greatly help in reducing casualties.
As for the rankers themselves, they had a drill session of their own, one where based on their ranks, they would either be tasked with evacuation and aiding civilians to safety, be on-field while pushing back the demons and protecting civilians, or be posted to the forefront of where an inevitable large-scale battle between the humans and the other races was bound to happen.
Due to all of this happenings, if before so people had still being a bit skeptical of the gravity of the situation, seeing the constant drills happening, alongside majority of the rankers still being completely at alert despite the declined appearances of the fissures, they had to at least believe that sothing big was looming on the horizon.
That said, just like the rankers had been subjected to drills, the interning rankers on the other hand, had their own drill sessions.
Considering it wasn’t only the more renown younger nobles that were presently in this field, but more of most of their academic peers, they were tasked with either evacuation, or defending their respective nations and protecting civilians while being on-field.
They, however, were completely exempted from being allowed to engage in the large-scale war that would inevitably happen.
Considering they were the future of their nations, the respective leaders in each individual nation, saw it best that they were placed in less precarious situations like a large-scale war, much to the disappointnt of the youths.
However, they more than anyone also knew that this was a reasonable decision granted the situation, especially since they were still learning on-field and weren’t full-fledged rankers.
In response to that decision, they had instead, used the peaceful tis they had now, to further increase the intensities of their training sessions in order to break through to the next tier or rank.
All that aside though, despite all of this happening, The Tower’s research departnt, along with Ivelia and Ivar, were steadily working together to create another breakthrough potion.
Having listened to the things the Valkyries told them, along with confirmations from Aiden and Flynn, both had decided to share their findings with the Tower.
This decision, had been quite the hard one for them, especially since their father had also gone down the sa path and wasn’t appreciated until his death.
But, for the sake of their victory against the demons, they had both looked at the bigger picture and decided that it was the best and quickest way to move forward in their research.
Even if they had all the necessary equipnt to create the new potion in due ti, it would probably still take them months.
However, with the Tower’s help, one where intelligent minds gathered in their research departnt, they could facilitate a much faster creation of the potion with less than half the ti it would’ve taken them alone.
That said, another major reason they had decided to go through with the idea, was because Duke Leopold, had now beco a Tower Executive.
If anything at all, they knew he would definitely ensure that they weren’t cheated out of their own achievents.
Currently in the research room though, dark circles under their eyes as they continued to make certain calculations on the holographic board, Ivar and Ivelia, along with a bunch of other scientists and researchers, both young and old alike, felt like pulling their hairs out.
"Shit! Another failure…" Ivar groaned in dissatisfaction, Ivelia and the other researchers, similarly at their wits end.
As the formula he and his sister had calculated, was dissected and restructured into a 3D-model of a chemical compound, they watched in disappointnt as it did nothing to stabilize a simulated mana core after it found its way through the bloodstream and into the mana core.
Rather, it ended up amplifying the power in the core for a while and then, resulted in a destruction of the mana core due to an over-amplification.
"It’s not stabilizing…" the Head of the Research Departnt, a bald old man that went by the na of Alfred, massaged his temples with a sigh.
"But we’re so close…" a young lady, probably in her early twenties, had a frown form on her face, a statent to which the other researchers in the room, nodded their head in agreent to.
This honestly, was the final hurdle they needed to cross to get the desired effect from the potion.
Sure they had mostly just been assisting whilst the twins had done the heavy-lifting but still, the fact that they were going to part of sothing so exceptional, made them want to figure out the necessary way forward.
"We’re missing sothing…" Ivelia brushed her hands through her ssy orange hair, slowly moving away from the holographic board with a tired gaze as she said.
"But I’m stumped… I don’t have any idea what it might be…" she added, sitting on one of the stools and retrieving a holographic tab from her spatial bracelet.
That statent from her, was followed by Ivar who similarly dragged himself over, his lab coat scrunched up as he added;
"This might take longer than we planned…"
Hearing those words from the tired youths, both of whom had now been sleeping in the research departnt for the past one week now, Alfred sighed and then ordered;
"Everyone take ten. Go freshen up or get a breath of fresh air or sothing. Find a way to cool down at the very least."
Reluctantly, as if unwilling to leave, the researchers soon nodded and did as they were told.
"Why don’t you two head to the cafeteria? Get sothing to eat maybe? You need rest just as much as everyone else" Alfred worriedly said, hoping that the two, young workaholics would take up his offer.
"Thank you Sir Alfred" Ivar was the first to respond and Ivelia followed up with a tired yet grateful smile;
"We’ll consider it"
Nodding at that, already understanding fully well that they probably wouldn’t listen to him, Alfred sighed and then left to get sothing to eat.
Still, he was planning to have a refreshing tea sent up to them regardless.
"A healthy body is a healthy mind…" he murmured to himself as he left.
As the laboratory beca quiet, Ivelia and Ivar constantly swiping through all of the plants, compounds and chemicals they had used to create the potion on their holographic tabs, Ivar soon noticed that his sister had stopped on a peculiar plant, a light smile, full of warmth, gracing her features.
Glancing over to her tablet, realizing that it was a Lakelight Blossom, one Flynn had procured and she had used to create her freeze potions, Ivar soon nudged her with flexed eyebrows, his expression playful.
"Quiet down Ivar" her cheeks went rosy as she said but Ivar swiftly countered.
"I didn’t say anything though" he shrugged, a mischievous smile on his lips.
Quietly returning her attention to the tab in response without replying to her brother’s words and gestures, one to which she knew he was right, Ivelia swiped past the plant and moved to the next.
"It must’ve been nice seeing them, if only for a brief mont though, right?" Ivar on the other hand questioned after a few seconds of silence.
"It sure was" Ivelia replied with another warm smile.
"I’m honestly just glad to know their all good. Kinda was fearing they’d be all bloodied and bruised every blessed day considering the Valkyries decided to train them" Ivar comnted, continuing almost imdiately after;
"Flynn, especially, got worried considering his core rank, because despite being very high for his age, is still lower than Aiden’s…"
"But, he’s got his wits to make up for it so I’m sure he and Aiden, albeit their differences, would’ve had their asses whooped in equal asure…"
"Not one, more than the other…" he concluded his fairly long monologue with a small laughter, causing Ivelia to chuckle heartily.
However, almost imdiately, her thoughts halted and focused on a string of, seemingly inconsequential words Ivar had spoken.
"Bloodied…"
"Core ranks…"
"Not one, more than the other…" she muttered out loud in succession as her eyes widened in a shocking spark of realization.
At the sa ti, Ivar, whom had heard her words, donned a genuinely confused expression on his face as he repeated her words.
However, just like his sister, a lightning bolt hit him and everything beca ever so clear to Ivar as he and his sister, stared at themselves in amazent.
Swiftly, they rushed to the board and began a new set of calculations.
The expressions on their faces was nothing short of euphoria and the speed at which they calculated the formula, was sowhat dizzying, their brain on ignition as it worked at full-throttle.
Eventually, seven more minute passed and by the ti Alfred, along with the other researchers ca back into the room, they watched as a formula for the 3D-model of a new chemical compound, rged with the 3D-model of a mana core, perfectly stabilizing as it amplified the core.
With their mood at an all-ti high, Ivelia and Ivar, simultaneously exclaid in a wave of imnse joy;
"We did it Ivar!!"
"Yeah baby!!"
This exclamations of joy, was then followed by Alfred and the other researchers whose reactions ca late, once the realization finally hit them!
Just like that, the Core Advancent Potion, had been created.
