As if mocking all the efforts the young ladies had put into suppressing the previous irregular fissure which had already closed, another one suddenly appeared, just a few ters behind Alexia.
Only this ti, the aura exuding out of this peculiar was very sinister, enough that the air suddenly got choky.
Swiftly turning around, Alexia ordered as she brandished her longsword while ordering;
"Stay behind !"
Considering she was the only SS-ranker amidst all of them, she knew just how deadly whatever creatures that were about to co out of the fissure was.
At the sa ti, she seed to be the only one who could even muster any strength to move as the others had been pinned downed to their spot, the primal fear in their eyes evident as chills continuously ran down the lengths of their spines.
Unfortunately, they had every right to be that terrified as two figures, both demons seemingly in the high-tier S-rank category, walked out of the fissure with nonchalant steps.
"(Oh~. What a sight to behold…)" the first demon spoke while the other followed up.
"(Toys for our amusent have gathered around)"
Despite having no idea of what the two creatures ant with their words, it could be easily inferred by everyone present that they were out for blood judging by the noticeable glint of malice in their pitch-black eyes.
As the horrifying tension consud everything within the area, Alexia’s eyes unwavering in her oath to ensure she protected the young ladies behind her, sothing completely unbelievable happened.
-Bam-!!!
Suddenly appearing out of thin air, were two youths, both male, their hands, smashing the heads of the two demons straight into the pavent and effectively knocking them out.
Slowly raising their heads, Ivelia and Caroline watched as Flynn and Aiden’s gaze, cascaded over everyone present before finally, locking onto theirs, a genuinely surprised expression on their features.
In the next few seconds after though, their surprised expressions, changed into very warm gazes.
Unfortunately for the two brothers, they brothers couldn’t afford to stick around any longer so they simply did what they could within the confines of the ti permitted to them.
Winking at Ivelia, a charming grin on his lips, Flynn instantly disappeared with the demon he had suppressed while Aiden, directly spoke into Caroline’s mind with mana sense;
’Hello Sweetie’
No sooner had he done that, he imdiately disappeared with the demon he had knocked out, leaving everyone within the vicinity, bewildered and shocked.
…
…
…
Ivelia and Caroline were a blushing ss.
Even as they made their way over to one of the transportation portals that would take them back to Arcadia, the sight of their partners whom they hadn’t seen in the past two and a half months, dominated their thoughts.
At the sa ti, their elation knew no bounds as a stupid smile currently hung on their lips, an occasional giggle escaping every now and then.
Having been unable to so much as even contact them even once all this ti, the fact that they had shown up briefly whilst still being as flirty as ever, was all they needed to feel reinvigorated.
It was proof that they were hale and hearty and that was good enough for them, especially with the ever-increasing outbreaks of irregular fissures and the hostile, murderous race of various creatures it brought.
Although no one was saying it, gradually, the inhabitants of Arcanora were starting to realize that sothing tectonic yet grave, was right around the corner.
Beatrice and Alia on the other hand, simply let the two ladies be, the car ride back, quiet yet comfortable.
That being said, both ladies were still beyond bewildered by the feat the two youths had pulled off.
It was one thing to be able to even move in the presence of such terrifying demons and their horrifying wave of murderous tension, much less knock them out so casually in an instant.
The fact that they also blinked in and out of existence, all whilst dragging the demons along with them to wherever they did, was proof that they were on another level of strength beyond what even an SS-ranker like Alexia was unable to wrap her head around.
That being said, the mont they had left, the Verdant Steward had promptly reassud her duties, ordering and assigning the Tower’s rankers to stand guard at the Grand Agrarian Institute in case of another irregular fissure outbreak.
However, just as she was about to reassu her reprimanding session with the ladies, an ergency call ca in that another irregular fissure had broken out in a popular mall and they required her assistance if she was free.
As a result, Alexia, was forced to give up on scolding the ladies and instead, had them promise her that they would follow due protocols, regardless of whichever nation they were in.
This was also why, although she would’ve loved to see them off, she was unable do so.
"We’re here" Alia broke their ambience once they reached their destination, all four promptly getting out of the limo.
Quickly, they made their way over to the spaceport, showing their ID’s and travel pass to the necessary officials, all of whom had their eyes widen in surprise as the young, influential ladies, moved about without even making a show of it like so other nobles from Arcadia would.
Soon, after all the necessary procedures were done, they were all standing in front of the portal that would take them back to Arcadia’s Capital City, New Eden.
Still blushing like idiots, Ivelia and Caroline’s mushy smiles were wiped of their faces the mont they stepped through the portal and arrived at Arcadia’s spaceport.
-Spurt-!!!
Spraying the reddish-black blood of a beheaded demon all over them, along with Alia and Beatrice, the four ladies watched as the once pristine looking spaceport, was in complete shambles and painted red as Derek, Adrian, Lucas, Bryan and Ivar, battled with their assailants.
"Oops!" Derek gently placed a palm over his mouth, his expression a mix between apologetic and amused as his free hand which was wielding his desert eagle, drilled a bullet hole through a bloodsucker’s skull.
"(Urk!)" the vamp groaned as it rapidly tried to heal itself, only to feel his heart impaled from the back by Lucas’s dagger.
-Kach-!
-Spurt-!!
"Welco back! You guys are lucky that a few of the portals still work!" Ivar’s concerned words echoed as his hamr, clashed with the giant axe of an orc, shattering the primitive weapon to dust.
"So are you gonna help out or what?!" Lucas on the other hand, ever the blunt and insensitive one, disregarded the current states of the ladies as he requested for help while clashing with another vampire.
"Man. You really need to learn how to be nicer!" Adrian countered, his longsword skillfully deflecting the attacks of two dark elves, both of whom were rapidly firing their arrows at him.
Imdiately, he activated the second form of his weapon art, transforming him into a golden dragon that chomped right through the head of one of the dark elves, instantly coiling around to head for the second.
"Stay down you bastard!" Bryan’s gauntlet clad fists, pumled an orc to the ground, a small crater forming underneath the creature.
Watching the chaotic scene before them, all of the events transpiring within seconds, the ladies, without even minding their currently ssy states, let out deep breaths and joined in the fray.
This was now their lives as interning rankers.
Even though every single one of them would definitely end up getting scolded for not following due protocols, save for Derek who was now a full-fledged Tower ranker, they still had to do what was necessary to protect their nation.
As for the other tasks they wanted to handle, especially for Ivelia whom was on the verge of a monuntal breakthrough with her brother, along with the researchers of the Tower, it would all have to wait until much later.
Protecting their nation and its citizens, took utmost priority.

"How’s the progress coming along?" a newly appointed Tower Executive, dressed in his battle suit, took a little ti out of his busy schedule to visit the Tower’s research departnt.
"We just need a month or two and we’ll crack the code" the Head Researcher, an aged bald man with circular-frad glasses, responded whilst pulling up a wide holographic screen in the middle of the pristine white room.
"Thanks to Ivar’s and Ivelia’s calculations, we were able to find the right portions of the rings to splice into another for the desired effect. All that’s left is finding the right chemical compound…"
Other researchers were also moving about, performing their duties and moving from one apparatus to the other, all whilst taking notes on their holographic tablets.
On the main holographic screen itself though, a 3D-model of a peculiar structure, akin to the shape of an atom, but with wavy, luminescent rings around it, separated and enlarged to show certain helix strands of said rings being replaced by a similar artificial one.
It was a 3D simulation of a mana core.
’Hopefully, Ivelia’s one-week trip to Solaris bears fruit…’ Leopold thought to himself with a hopeful gaze.
’Considering how even more powerful the races that have been arriving in recent mory are, this would greatly level out the playing field and improve our chances of winning…’ he kept musing.
Suddenly brought out of his thoughts due to a beep in his retracted visor, Leopold imdiately accepted the incoming transmission.
Quickly, he was inford about an irregular fissure opening up at one of Arcadia’s spaceport, young interning rankers still on field even after they had evacuated the citizens.
Instantly, the man bolted out of the research departnt, already aware of the actions the stubborn youths would have taken.
