-Bam!
"Shit! I should’ve known they were about to do sothing batshit insane again!" Ivar cursed while punching the wall, his other mates also in the sa room with him.
The room’s walls vibrated and shook a bit but Ivar couldn’t care less about that as he kept blaming himself with a deep yet distressed frown on his face.
’They asked to add the sensor features but I didn’t really pay it any mind since I felt there wasn’t really anything they needed it for at the mont! I should’ve known they wouldn’t just have asked for the addition of a feature like that for no reason!’
Also having his thoughts running back to the day he and Maya visited the Museum, he had rembered himself retorting to Flynn’s joking comnt about him planning sothing.
And yet, it still hadn’t clicked even back then.
’It’s like they knew this was going to happen way before it even did!’ Ivar inwardly continued.
Darius and Cordelia were also in the sa room, watching over he and the other youths who were in a pretty distressed state of mind, sa as they were.
The only major difference though, was how well the adults were maintaining their composure.
"Ivar..." Ivelia and Maya gently called out to him, genuinely worried expression on their faces.
All of the other youths that were also present were either seating down on the couches or leaning against the wall, trying their absolute best to ensure they stayed as calm as they could.
Their two instructors had been the ones to bring them to the unoccupied hotel room, away from the others so as not to thrust the rest of the cadets and instructors into a further state of panic they were already trying their best to suppress.
Ivar on the other hand though, couldn’t help but continue blaming himself for not noticing earlier and Ivelia understood very much from how he was behaving.
When in a state of complete distress or helplessness, her brother had a tendency to hit a nearby sturdy object with his fists.
It rarely ever happened but when it did, it was Ivar’s way of not completely losing it and trying his absolute best to stay as calm as he could under imnse stress.
Adrian on the other hand along with Beatrice, gazed over to Ivelia and Caroline whom despite the situation, seed to be in a much better state of mind than Ivar.
’I wonder how their feeling…’ Beatrice couldn’t help but think to herself but unknown to her, Caroline and Ivelia, were quite possibly the most distressed out of all of them.
At the sa ti however, they both had a very strong belief that their partners wouldn’t do sothing so reckless if they hadn’t thought it through well enough.
Bryan, Lucas and Alia, each leaned against the wall though in close proximity to each other, genuinely hoped for the safety of both brothers.
This distressed state of being went on for a few more minutes as their Instructors, especially Cordelia who really was at a loss of what to do to ease her cadet’s worries, calmly kept watching over them.
Suddenly though, a beeping noise broke out in the room as everyone’s smartwatch imdiately began to ring, breaking all of them out of their lancholic state.
Before they could all actually check the ssage though, a rap of knocks on the door simultaneously interrupted them, followed by an instant opening of the door without even waiting for a response.
Swiftly, three high-tier S-rankers from The Tower imdiately barged in while apologizing, an urgency present on their features and in their tone of words.
"Apologies for our rude entry but we’d like to speak to Darius Forge and Cordelia Violet!"
Darius and Cordelia, along with the other youths, instantly glanced at each other and without wasting any more ti, instantly clicked on their smartwatches to read the ssages that were sent to them.

(A few seconds after both brothers had used the plane-shifter…)
As the white shroud surrounding the youths quickly dissipated just a few seconds after it had surrounded them, Aiden and Flynn found themselves in what seed to be a pitch black room.
Both brothers, still a bit disoriented by the effects of the device which was akin to a mini-teleporting portal, took about a few seconds to gather their wits, finally returning to normalcy.
Although both of them couldn’t make any sense of the place they were currently in, they had least had the plane-shifter which also functioned as a map of sorts.
Tapping on a small button he had previously noticed when retrieving the device, a brightly-lit holographic screen popped up from it, displaying a detailed map of where they were currently at.
Starring at the map which was currently the only source of light present to them, Aiden and Flynn soon realized that they were in what seed to be a small square structure.
"Nifty little gadget The Monolith built…" Aiden comnted quietly, his voice barely above a whisper as he kept staring at the holographic map.
Brushing his hands gently across the walls of the enclosed structure though, Flynn’s fingertips felt the cold sensation of a tallic wall, along with what seed to be a thin rectangular groove.
’Probably an identification sensor that’s yet to be activated…’ Flynn quickly thought to himself.
Putting that aside though, the youth swiftly retrieved his smartwatch, along with the new one he had bought and Aiden did the sa too.
Turning on the smartwatches, Aiden soon clicked on a button on the holographic screen of the plane-shifter which served as a share function.
Instantly, they had the entire maps shared in real-ti on all three smartwatches.
Following this, Flynn swiftly started sending a ssage to The Tower while sharing the real-ti map of the Monolith’s main base as Aiden gazed at the map itself as so parts of it shifted around.
After sending a ssage to the Tower, Flynn then finally sent a thirty minutes tid ssage to his partner, friends and instructors and Aiden did the sa this ti too while also sharing the real-ti map to them.
Considering all that had just transpired, happened within no less than a minute, both brothers soon felt as the enclosed square structure they were in, instantly humd with a chanical sound.
-Hummmm…
Instantly, a ray of green light scanned both of them in the fraction of a second.
"Well, this isn’t good…" Flynn muttered to himself.
Following those thoughts from the youth, a monotone robotic sound of a female’s voice was heard.

| Detected! |
"Or maybe not…" Aiden who had heard his mutter quietly comnted.

"Screw it! Spoke too soon" Aiden cursed as he and Flynn pressed their backs against each other.

The small cube which they were in had its chanical humming increase slightly by a few decibels, seemingly changing the location which they were presently in.
After a short few seconds, the chanical humming of the cube soon stopped and one of the walls instantly opened like shutter to reveal what seed to be an even darker wide room.
-Whirrr!
Suddenly, both brothers watched as the tallic box suddenly pushed them out with a strong, pressured burst of air, shutting tightly and instantly pushed underground behind them.
Quickly getting up, Aiden and Flynn felt an eerie form of energy emanating from the dark room around them and instantly, they activated mana sense and bloodlust.
Simultaneously, the youths also retrieved their finely-crafted weapons and instantly donned their battle suits too, the glass visor shutting like a shutter window in front of their faces.
Already having sensed the weird puddles present of the floor of the exceedingly dark room with mana sense, despite not actually seeing it, the night vision on their battle-suits instantly granted them the vision they lacked.
Soon enough, they realized they were actually in the middle of the room, surrounded on all sides by the unsettlingly stirring, multiple black, almost dark purple, puddles of ominous energy.
’This phenonon…’ Flynn inwardly said to himself, his words trailing off.
-Fwoosh!
-Fwoosh!
-Fwoosh!
And just as he did, multiple creatures suddenly burst out of the dark purple puddles, surrounding the youths in the darkness of the very wide room in an instant.
The creatures, seed akin to wolves but at the sa ti, they clearly weren’t.
Even in the pitch black of darkness of the room, their visor was able to pick up on everything as if it was clear as day.
The creatures had a set of razor-sharp teeth and a singular black, long sharp and pointed horn, sticking out of their foreheads.
Tendrils of ominous purple energy constantly emanated from their furs and their very long tails had what seed to be razor sharp spikes attached to it.
They were tall, almost of similar heights to the two brothers and they constantly growled and snapped their teeth with a predatory gaze in their totally black eyes which had no pupil or irises.
Watching as the creatures who had now being unleashed upon them, ready to pounce at any mont now, Aiden and Flynn instantly realized what this monsters were while drawing their knowledge from the novel.
’Shadowmaws!’ they both inwardly declared.
