The flas that had ignited were completely extinguished, and even the inconspicuous little flas in every corner were smothered by damp earth, eliminating any possibility of reignition. After completing all this, the servants, exhausted and aching all over, fell asleep with snores as soon as their heads hit the pillows, not even having had the chance to bathe.
The butler, Jia Lie, was also extrely tired, but he still forced himself to plan how many people to hire and how much material to purchase to repair the estate before collapsing into bed.
After they had all fallen asleep, the lights in the study of the stone building remained on—Richard had not gone to sleep.
He was holding the "Blood Spirit Potion" he had gotten as compensation from Bobbobovic, observing it closely. After a while, he stowed it away in the Space Iron Ring and then took out an enormous scroll.
The scroll was over a ter long and several centiters thick. With a rustling sound, it was unrolled, covering the table and still more than enough.
It could be seen that on the scroll was a huge construct diagram.
The topmost Level 1 had four characters: Magic System.
The second level was the major classification: Shaping Energy, Transformation, Spirit, Prophecy, Magic Rune, Summoning, Space, Ti, Others.
The third level was a further differentiation of the second level; for instance, Shaping Energy was divided into: Water Elent, Wind Elent, Fire Elent, Earth Elent, Wood Elent, and so forth.
The fourth level then made sub-divisions, such as Water Elent being divided into: Ice Elent, Water Elent, Acidic Elent, etc.
The fifth level continued to divide; Ice Elent was divided into: Snooker School, Nomp School, Farro School, etc.
The sixth level detailed specific spells; under the Snooker School, there were: Snooker Ice Hail Spell, Ultra-fast Freeze Spell, Sub-Blizzard Spell, and others.
The seventh level provided a deep research and analysis of so specific and representative spells of the sixth level. For example, for Snooker Ice Hail Spell, Richard had written extensive content related to dry ice carbon dioxide, concluding that this spell functioned through the production of solid carbon dioxide under high pressure.
This was Richard’s progress chart for the analysis of the entire current world’s Magic System, with so branches having made significant progress, like Shaping Energy and Magic Rune. Others had barely advanced or even nearly stalled, such as Summoning, Ti Magic, and Space Type.
The reason he had created this progress chart was partly so that Richard could have a clearer understanding of the various thods he currently controlled. On the other hand, he wanted to attempt to find commonalities among the myriad spells, to find laws applicable to a certain category or all spells, decode the underlying rules of magic, and ultimately to understand the Magic System.
The Magic System was an important existence in the current Wizard World.
To clarify this system would allow one to co much closer to the ultimate truth of the world.
This had always been his plan.
Looking at the progress chart, Richard took out a Quill and added the words "Blood Spirit Potion" under the branch of Transformation - Structure - Human Body - Strengthening - Potion Amplification.
Next to "Blood Spirit Potion" was "Divine Blood," under which there was extensive text analysis, as he had already developed the product "Interdiate Divine Blood·Evil God Power."
In his view, the "Blood Spirit Potion" had significant reference value for "Divine Blood," and investing in research could likely produce a more potent potion, such as "High-level Divine Blood."
Further on, he might glimpse the principle behind this branch, thereby completing the "Magic System Analysis Tree."
Viewed this way, his intervention to save Bobbobovic might have stirred so trouble, but it was not a loss.
However, that was only on the surface.
Deeper down, the events of tonight were much more complex.
"Whirr!"
Rolling up the enormous scroll and storing it in the Space Iron Ring, Richard flipped his hand, and a brand-new Black Iron Ring, which was also a Space Iron Ring, appeared in his hand.
These items, he had in triple digits, so they were anything but rare to him.
However, at this mont, he scrutinized it for a good while.
The reason was none other than the fact that this Black Iron Ring was not obtained on the East Coast but was found on the corpse of the person he had just killed!
What did this an?
Based on the clues he had obtained earlier, the one in possession of the Black Iron Ring was certainly an internal mber of the Supre Order Divine Society.
The body he had killed had such a ring on it. So, did this an that the person he had killed was a mber of the Supre Order Divine Society? Or could it be that just one mber of the Divine Society had infiltrated that squad of people and then was unfortunately killed under the barrage of his half-stocked Miniature Magic Tracking Missiles?
If it were the latter, there wasn’t much to it, but if it were the forr, that would be a problem.
First off, why was the Supre Order Divine Society after Bobbobovic?
Was it really, as Bobbobovic had said, that he himself didn’t know the reason? Or, did Bobbobovic have other hidden secrets?
Additionally, while he was examining the body, he acutely sensed a gaze lurking in the darkness. The other party was very careful; he was not sure he could catch them and pretended not to notice, but who was this person? Were they the rest of the Divine Society? Were they related to Bobbobovic? Or were they a third-party force?
Things were truly chaotic.
And the primary cause of the chaos was the Supre Order Divine Society.
Any matter involving the Divine Society was definitely not simple.
It was the sa on the East Coast, and he thought it would be similar on the Main Continent.
From the information obtained on the East Coast and the data from the nurous Space Iron Rings, the Supre Order Divine Society was indeed a supermassive organization; a huge number of Level One, Second-level, and even Third-level Wizards were just the bottom layer, with those at the peak of Third-level Wizardry, crushing Third-level Wizards, constituting the middle layer.
As for the upper echelons, they might be Level 4 Wizards or even the legendary Level 5 Wizards.
With such a vast force, they had always kept their identities hidden, sneakily carrying out various operations behind various fronts.
On the surface, they seed to be creating trouble, disrupting various orders, akin to an evil religious organization.
But with such a strong force gathered, their aims could not be so simple.
In fact, many of their actions inevitably led to much speculation.
For instance, they seed to be eliminating craftsn with advanced technology, apparently deliberately controlling the developnt of the world’s technology.
Being capable of this showed they had a clear understanding of various technological developnt paths, because only by fully mastering and widely applying a technology could one understand whether it was significant and if it needed to be controlled.
Another example was how they called themselves the Supre Order Divine Society, acting in the na of the True God. Aside from them, there wasn’t a single large religious presence in the whole world, which was highly unreasonable.
Everything was as if an invisible hand was secretly manipulating all aspects of the world, with the Supre Order Divine Society being that hand.
But what exactly did they want to do? What was their ultimate aim?
He had so aversion to the Supre Order Divine Society because they were, intentionally or not, always affecting his research life. But he had to confront them because the more he understood about them, the more he realized their power and mystery, and the more he wondered about the aning and purpose of their existence.
In his contemplation, there was even speculation that maybe they possessed part of the world’s actual truths? Or to say, was their existence directly related to the truth of the world?
Just like salt-tolerant plants growing in saline soil, or cacti thriving in the desert, perhaps so particular truth of the world had led to the existence of such a special organization as the Supre Order Divine Society.
This was just speculation.
However, if this speculation was true, then the path to exploring the world, to understanding the ultimate question, had not only the decryption of the Magic System to consider but also had another route altogether.
All things considered, even if this guess was false, he still had to investigate what the truth was behind tonight’s events, to at least make certain if there would be any more trouble in the future.
So...
Richard took a deep breath and walked towards a recliner in the study, lying down flat.
His eyes shut, his body relaxed, and his consciousness quickly sank.
He efficiently entered a state of ditation, and a strong tremor sensation arose; Richard’s consciousness rapidly left his body, burst out of the Stone Building, surged high into the sky, overseeing the land as he searched for the target he wished to find.
