Chapter 608: Chapter 606 Muse Takes Action
With nearly twenty powerful wizards having left, the remaining dozen or so at the venue grew cautious. They stayed vigilant against possible attacks while coordinating the treatnt of their fellow organization mbers.
No sooner had a mont passed than dense footsteps approached from outside the venue, followed by continuous fluctuations of Mana as a result of constant casting.
phisto, who was aiding in treating Macbeth, noticed this change. Her expression shifted slightly as she quickly pulled Macbeth aside, shouting, “Be careful, we’re under attack!”
Hearing this, the others adopted defensive positions. Then a rumbling explosion sounded, shattering the four walls of the venue.
With a crash, the entire venue collapsed, dust billowed, and debris flew everywhere.
“Snap!”
A piece of debris struck Macbeth on the head. The semiconscious man furrowed his brow and slowly opened his eyes. First, he coughed violently a few tis, then waved the dust away with his hand and looked around.
He then noticed, seemingly out of nowhere, a dense crowd of Black Robed n surrounding the venue with malevolent intent.
“What is this?”
“Cough, cough,” Macbeth coughed violently again, slowly turned his head, and looked towards phisto, asking, “Hey, I just passed out unintentionally; it seems like a lot has changed. Before I passed out, I only rember that old guy Sieg attacking . What happened after that? Interested in explaining it to ? If you explain well, could I treat you to so marmalade later, phisto?”
“Hmph, not interested,” phisto responded coldly.
After speaking, she raised her hand quickly and released a burst of Flas towards several approaching Black Robed n. After finishing, she said to Macbeth, “I think, instead of explaining, you should focus on how to stay alive!”
“But if I don’t understand anything, what’s the point of staying alive?” Macbeth said, his words casual while his hands were busy. He waved his hand, shooting several Ice Spears, then summoned a Shield to block several incoming Energy Missiles.
After successfully blocking the attack, whether it was due to so injury or not, Macbeth suddenly curled up behind the Shield, coughing heart-wrenchingly. After a lengthy fit, he returned to normal, and with a pale face, stood up.
Wiping the dark blood from the corner of his mouth, Macbeth looked deeply at the advancing Black Robed n and muttered to himself, “Sigh, it really is trouble, isn’t it? Looks like my premonition was unfortunately accurate. Now, who knows how much longer I have to live. Or perhaps I might just die?”
“Stop talking nonsense. Focus and protect the others. Find a way to break out!” phisto commanded coldly from the side.
“Speaking of which, can we really break out?” Macbeth looked at the multitude of Black Robed n and expressed his concern cautiously, “I feel that dying here seems more likely. If I had known it would be like this, I wouldn’t have bothered organizing this conference. With that ti, I could have eaten more marmalade.”
Hearing this, phisto was too annoyed to respond to Macbeth anymore. She replied with a glare colder than that of any Black Robed Man and suddenly produced purple Lightning in her palm, violently striking towards one side, killing several Black Robed n along the way.
Macbeth shook his head and muttered a few complaining words, reluctantly following suit. Together with phisto, they rushed to one side, attempting to gather the people of White Stone Tower, preparing to break through.
The Black Robed n, sensing their intent, suddenly intensified their attacks, with more figures approaching.
In other areas, wizards from different organizations were doing similar things.
Suddenly, they realized that the arrangents of dividing their mbers during the conference were terribly intentional. They tried to gather their people while attempting to break out.
The Black Robed n, with overwhelming force, hindered these attempts, incessantly assaulting and disrupting the defensive formations of various Wizard Organizations. Gradually, the entire venue and the surrounding area had turned into a vast and chaotic battlefield. The Black Robed n were strategically isolating and severely damaging and annihilating everyone.
In the periphery of the battlefield, the towering Tu Ke observed everything, his eyes gleaming coldly, as if he already foresaw the final outco.
In an inconspicuous corner of the battlefield, Richard, holding the Cat Slave Girl’s hand, casually struck down an approaching Black Robed Man and quickly dodged to one side. As he dodged, he couldn’t help shaking his head, his eyes sweeping over the surrounding chaos, sighing internally.
Ah, it seems I’ve fallen into big trouble again, unavoidable and quite a headache.
The current situation, unless those powerful wizards chasing Sieg managed to kill him swiftly and return to provide support, appeared utterly bleak—the orchestrator behind all this was evidently well-prepared.
But then, could those powerful wizards chasing Sieg return in ti? Or perhaps, had the adversary prepared sothing even worse for them?
Richard’s eyebrows slightly raised.
…
On the other hand.
Twenty or so powerful wizards were in pursuit of Sieg, chasing him to locations beyond the Deep Blue Castle Station, where they stopped in unison.
They stopped for a simple reason: they had lost him.
Yes, lost him.
Though it was sowhat embarrassing, they had to admit this reality.
The witch Angie from Rose City and the others looked at each other, unable to resist asking, “What do we do now?”
There was much discussion.
“Should we go back?” soone suggested. “I think sothing might happen at the venue, it’s probably better if we go back and check.”
“We can’t go back,” soone imdiately objected. “Sieg is definitely nearby, we have to kill him! Otherwise, chasing him this far would have been a waste. As for the venue, there are enough people left there, they should be able to hold on for a while even if sothing happens.”
“But…” soone hesitated.
Just as everyone was uncertain, a cold sneer rang out.
“Hehehehe, what a pathetic bunch of ants you are, still not understanding the truth.”
“Who’s there?” the wizards exclaid in surprise.
As they asked, the air twisted and a woman appeared in their sight.
Her skin was pale, her lips a flaming red, and eight of her ten fingernails were dyed black, sharp as blades, the tips flashing with a terrifying cold light. She was dressed in a crimson robe that fluttered in the wind like burning flas, beautiful yet dangerous.
It was Muse!
Muse swept her gaze over all the wizards and said coldly, “Let introduce myself. My na is Muse, and as for my role… well, I’m the one who will kill you!”
“The one to kill us? Hmph, big talk,” Angie, the witch from Rose City, retorted, not taking Muse seriously, but rather pressing her for information, “Tell , where did Sieg go? Did he hide? Bring him out, he’s our target, not you.”
“Hehe, such utterly foolish ants. Clearly, you do not comprehend the real truth.”
“The truth? What truth?”
“The truth is, you, as ants, and disobedient ants at that, will all die. Those ants left at the venue, they will be killed. And you stronger ants, I will personally take care of you, to avoid any complications.
Sieg was only responsible for leading you here, he is not going to confront you, not yet at least. Maybe he’ll show up to stop you when you’re fleeing for your lives after I’ve killed you.”
“How, just by yourself, are you planning to make us, these twenty-sothing people, run?” Angie challenged Muse.
“How, is it not possible?” Muse stretched lazily and asked again with a languid tone, “How, don’t believe ?”
“Of course not!” Angie replied coldly, with a hint of mockery.
But no sooner had she spoken than her body violently shuddered, her eyes suddenly widened. As she slowly looked down at her chest, she saw a blood-red hand reaching out from within her, clutching a beating heart—her heart.
Muse’s voice, eerie and quiet, arose behind her, slowly asking, “So now, do you still not believe?”
“I…” Angie struggled to speak, uttering but one word, before falling to the ground with a “thump,” lifeless.
This!
In an instant, the nurous wizards, as if they had seen a ghost, turned their gaze toward Muse.
