Chapter 563: Chapter 561: Disguise, the Fifth Person!

“Bang! Bang! Bang!”

The knocking sounded, and Richard’s spirit imdiately tensed up. He tilted his arm, and two magic wands cut through the air—one blood-red short magic wand and the other a black energy storage short wand—he gripped one in each hand, ready for battle at any mont.

However, Richard’s greatest concern did not materialize: the iron door was not forced open, and the person knocking from outside did not burst in.

After knocking for a while and receiving no response, the person outside spoke up, explaining his presence in a slightly anxious tone, “Um… Master Guluo, are you okay? I…I’m Phil, a first-level wizard from the gathering place. I sensed so disturbances around your location just now, along with unusual mana fluctuations. I was worried you might be in danger, so I ca to check. You…are you alright?”

It was only upon hearing this that Richard understood the reason for the visitor’s appearance. It seed not to be the fourth person with ulterior motives, and this made things much easier—at least there was a good chance that battle could be avoided.

With a “swoosh,” he slipped the short wands back into his sleeves. Richard recalled the voice of the witch he had killed at the start, and the next mont, he controlled the vibrations of his vocal cords to produce an extrely hoarse voice, tinted with an irate and disgusted tone, “I’m fine, get lost!”

“Uh—” The wizard called Phil outside heard this voice and was clearly frightened; Richard could even hear the distinct sound of his footsteps retreating quickly as if he were distancing himself from the iron door.

However, Phil did not leave right away; it seed he still held so doubts and concern as he spoke up again, “Um… Master Guluo, are you really alright? If you need anything at all, or if there’s anything wrong, you must tell . I may not be able to help you, but I can get others to help.”

“I said I don’t need it!” Richard continued in a raspy voice, “It was just an experint that went wrong a mont ago, you don’t need to worry about . Now get lost quickly and stop bothering ; do you understand?!”

“But…but…” Phil, the wizard, still did not leave. “But Master Guluo, I really feel like sothing’s not right with you, your voice sounds a bit strange. I can’t put my finger on it exactly, but it just doesn’t sit well with …”

Hearing this, Richard’s brows instantly furrowed.

A problem with the voice?

That was indeed possible.

After all, Puster had ntioned before that the witch’s imitation of the voice and the real Master Guluo’s voice had so slight differences. He had never heard Master Guluo’s actual voice, so of course, he couldn’t mimic it perfectly.

If there were indeed a problem with his voice, then Phil might begin to harbor suspicions, and if not handled well, this could lead to unforeseen consequences. At the very least, Richard would find it difficult to remain calm in this underground space searching for the so-called Holy Land Key.

What to do?

Thousands of thoughts flashed through Richard’s mind in a fraction of a second, and shortly after, he made a decision.

Without hesitation, Richard quickly started to act, first tossing the two corpses on the ground into Eden, then quietly cleaning up the bloodstains and signs of magical combat. Finally, he arranged the underground space casually.

At this mont, Phil outside, hearing no sound from within for a long ti, couldn’t help but speak up again, “Master Guluo, Master Guluo? You…”

“What do you an, ‘you’!” Richard, having finished his tasks, spoke up, using an annoyed tone to shout at Phil, “Did you really not understand, or are you pretending not to? I told you to get lost, don’t you get it?”

“But I care about Master Guluo, your…”

“Care? Are you sure it’s concern? Hmph, with all your concern about my welfare, you probably have another motive, right? What, everyone else just hopes for my death, and you can’t wait to take matters into your own hands? Fine, co in then, let’s have a face-to-face chat!”

“Master Guluo, you misunderstood, I didn’t an that, I just…” The wizard Phil outside the door was sowhat panicked.

“Just what!” Richard didn’t give the other party a chance to explain, he exclaid continuously, “Either you co in or you get lost, dilly-dallying and wasting my ti. I’m very angry, understand?! Or perhaps, you want to co in, but are too embarrassed, and you need a personal invitation from to do so?”

“This…” Phil, outside the door, was obviously even more flustered.

At that mont, Richard took a special solvent out of the Space Iron Ring and began to apply it to his face, erasing so special makeup that he had used to disguise his identity. He quickly reverted to his true appearance, totally different from when he had entered the Jungle Hut gathering place, ensuring no one would recognize him.

Then, Richard stepped forward, deliberately making clear footsteps towards the iron door, and with a “swoosh”, he opened the door.

The short and chubby wizard Phil outside the door jumped in shock, stepping back involuntarily, his eyes wide open, and he waved his hands repeatedly, “Master Guluo, Master Guluo, I was wrong, I…huh?”

The short and chubby wizard, seeing that Richard was not the Master Guluo he had expected, was taken aback. He blinked hard, his expression doubtful: “Who are you?”

“I am a student of Teacher Guluo,” Richard spoke, his tone slightly cold.

“You are Master Guluo’s student?” The other party was taken aback upon hearing this, “Then how co I have never seen you before?”

“Because I have always been studying the most profound knowledge with Teacher Guluo, and I also have to handle so trifles for him, I have hardly left this place. It’s normal for you not to have seen , but I have seen you a few tis.”

Upon hearing this, Phil was full of doubt inside, but he couldn’t refute Richard’s words. He could only continue to look at Richard, and after a while, he asked, “Then what are you doing out here?”

“Of course, to invite you,” Richard said, his tone growing colder, “Didn’t you hear what Teacher Guluo said? He invited you in. And since you’ve stayed outside all this ti, and not gone in, the teacher got angry and had personally co out to invite you, to have a proper chat with you.”

By the ti he reached the last two words, Richard subtly emphasized his tone.

“This!” Phil couldn’t help but shiver, suddenly realizing that he was still in the midst of a “crisis”. To be truthful, the reason he ca to investigate was out of curiosity and doubt. Now that Guluo had issued an invitation, he wouldn’t dare to accept it and enter Master Guluo’s secret chamber alone. He had heard that several wizards who had gone into Master Guluo’s secret chamber alone had never co out again.

Lifting his head, Phil took a look at Richard, feeling as though Richard’s expression seed very much like he was inviting him into the chamber. As his gaze passed over Richard and through the open iron door to look inside, under the dim light, he could barely make out a hunched figure standing busy at a desk, back facing him.

For so reason, after looking for a while, Phil couldn’t help but have an illusion: it seed like the next mont, that figure in the chamber would turn around, personally capture him and drag him into the secret chamber, while Richard would very cooperatively shut the iron door tight, leaving him no chance to run out.

Phil jerked violently, glanced at Richard, and quickly waved his hands, “Never mind, never mind, it’s good that Master Guluo is fine. You… as his student, should take good care of Master Guluo. I… I’ll be leaving now.”

With that, he walked away swiftly, without dragging his feet. His anxious manner was almost like soone with his buttocks on fire.
