Chapter 549: Chapter 547 Deep Blue Castle

Florence, Southeast.

In the nurous undulating mountain ranges, a large cluster of buildings sat, comprising castles, high towers, and stone buildings. The predominant color of the buildings was blue, adorned with nurous patterns of flying fish.

This was the location of the Wizard Organization’s Deep Blue Castle.

In the center of the building complex, inside a Stone Tower.

A woman wearing a light blue robe appeared. She was around thirty years old, of average appearance, but her walk exuded efficiency. Her na was Linda, a mber of the Deep Blue Castle. Due to her diocre aptitude, although she possessed the cultivation of a Level One Wizard, she was the weakest among them— a low-level First-level Wizard, and it was difficult for her to advance.

With such abilities, it was difficult for her to beco a teacher at Deep Blue Castle, but fortunately, she had a good head on her shoulders and handled matters logically and efficiently. Therefore, she beca an assistant to the vice dean of Deep Blue Castle, directly responsible to Vice Dean Adolf Siger.

At this mont, she walked up the stairs to the fifth floor of the Stone Tower and knocked on a brownish-red wooden door.

Behind the wooden door was the office of Vice Dean Adolf Siger, where she now had a situation to report.

However, after knocking for quite a while with no response, Linda blinked, slightly puzzled.

Was Vice Dean Siger not in?

Although this thought crossed her mind, considering the complexity of the matter she had to report, Linda tentatively pushed the door open, then paused in surprise.

Inside was a large office, divided into an outer and a more private inner rest area.

Having entered, Linda saw Vice Dean Adolf Siger sitting behind a dark red wooden desk in the outer office, looking down at the docunts on the table.

“De…Dean Siger, are you there?!” Linda called out, slightly surprised and then sowhat uneasy, thinking she should have knocked a few more tis.

Siger appeared to be in his forties with a sharp-featured face, rarely smiling. Coupled with the power of a Third-level Wizard, he exuded an intangible pressure.

At that mont, he was dressed in a gray robe and sitting down, either pretending or too engrossed in the docunts; he seed completely unaware of Linda’s words and continued to scrutinize the docunts.

Linda nervously swallowed, uncertain how to proceed. Hesitating for a mont, she finally decided to relay the information, “Vice Dean Siger, um… people from White Stone Tower have already been here for quite so days, demanding to see either you or Dean Logan. Although I’ve made up many reasons to have them wait, they seem to be getting quite agitated, especially that man in white clothes. He seems rather odd, giving off a very dangerous vibe. What do you think… shall we et with them?”

Linda finished speaking and looked at Siger, waiting for an answer.

Siger, however, did not respond, continuing to examine the docunts on his table for a long ti without moving.

Linda’s eyelashes fluttered, feeling sothing was odd. She cautiously approached Siger while calling out, “Vice Dean Siger, are you alright? Vice Dean Siger, you…”

Just as she was half a ter away from the desk, Linda abruptly stopped, feeling as if she had collided with an invisible air wall.

With a “whoosh,” Siger, who had been sitting behind the desk, suddenly vanished, and before Linda could grasp what was happening, weird sounds erged from the room inside the office.

Huh?

Linda turned her head, and a gust of wind swept through the room, blurring her vision; Vice Dean Siger appeared before her.

At this mont, Vice Dean Siger’s expression was clearly displeased as he stared at Linda, demanding, “What are you doing?!”

“I…” Linda, slightly panicked, hurriedly explained, “Vice Dean Siger, I wanted to report so matters regarding White Stone Tower. Seeing you imrsed in the docunts and not hearing , I approached a few steps closer, and then…”

However, Linda was cut off as Siger asked, “Is that all, have you noticed anything else, or heard so conversations?”

“No—no,” Linda hastily shook her head, speaking frankly. Although she found Vice Dean Siger’s behavior strange and suspected secrets were hidden in the inner room of the office, she had no desire to probe. After all, as just an assistant, it was best to finish her designated tasks well. Knowing too much about things she shouldn’t posed both trouble and danger.

Listening to Linda’s words, Siger watched her intently as if confirming the truth. After a mont, his expression slightly softened, and he waved his hand, saying, “Alright, you can go now.”

“Uh, yes,” Linda responded and was about to leave when she suddenly rembered sothing and said, “Right, Dean Siger, the people from White Stone Tower are getting quite unhappy, having waited so many days. Do you think… shouldn’t we et with them?”

“I will handle it,” Siger said.

“Uh, okay, then I’ll be going,” Linda replied, not wanting to say more. Turning around, she started to leave.

But just as she took a step, she felt like she had bumped into sothing; looking closer, she discovered it was a tall man in a black robe. He had appeared out of nowhere, standing close to her body, staring at her expressionlessly, as if looking at a dead thing.

Linda froze, then horrifically realized that the man’s hand was inserted into her chest cavity.

This!

Only then did Linda sluggishly realize the pain spreading explosively through her body, convulsing a few tis before her vision darkened, and she lost consciousness.

“Thump!”

Linda’s body fell to the ground, motionless.

The Black Robed Man, who had suddenly appeared, waved his hand, and Linda’s body vanished without a trace, leaving the room spotless of blood and odor as if nothing had ever happened.

Siger, who had witnessed the entire process, frowned slightly, gazing at the Black Robed Man, “You shouldn’t have killed her. She barged in while we were talking but clearly knew nothing. Moreover, she was smart and knew her limits; she wouldn’t dig into matters beyond her duty. I could have handled it; your intervention only complicates matters.”

The Black Robed Man blinked, responding to Siger, “Perhaps you’re right, but in my view, dead people are the safest, never able to spill secrets. In fact, this is for your own good. After all, the matters we discussed are no trivial matter; we can’t afford any risks.”

“Hmph,” Siger snorted, showing slight displeasure, “That doesn’t an you can just kill anyone, especially soone under my command. Next ti you take action against my people, you better have my permission, or don’t bla for turning against you.”

The Black Robed Man shrugged. “Talking about turning against each other now seems a bit premature, doesn’t it? We might as well wait until our plans are nearly complete before turning on each other; that would be more reasonable.”

With these words, the gazes of the two collided mid-air, sparking a brief but intense clash.
