Chapter 512: Chapter 510: Muzzle-loading Flintlock Fire Gun!

Standing in Rotten Pine Alley, Richard felt the eerie atmosphere, turned his head to look around, and then stepped towards the courtyard at the far end of the alley.

When he reached the gate of the courtyard, he stopped, confirming that this was the address of the “old friend” Sherlock had ntioned, and reached out to knock on the door.

“Bang, bang, bang!”

The sound of knocking arose, but there was no response from inside.

“Hmm?” Richard’s eyebrows furrowed slightly, and the next mont he knocked on the door again.

“Bang, bang, bang!”

Still, there was no movent inside.

On the third knock, Richard called out, “Excuse … Is anyone there?”

There was still no movent inside, silent as a graveyard.

This—

Richard’s eyebrows deepened in a frown, and the next mont he placed his hand on the courtyard door and tentatively pushed it. With a “squeak,” sowhat surprisingly, the door opened easily.

Richard’s lips pursed, and after thinking for a mont, he decided to go in and see what was going on.

“Tap, tap, tap…”

As Richard entered, the first thing he saw was an ordinary-looking courtyard, with level ground and a small path made of cobblestones leading to the main house. It looked no different from a normal household, except that it was empty.

What in the world is going on?

Richard wondered as he stepped on the cobblestone path, moving toward the main house. He hadn’t taken many steps when suddenly he sensed sothing and turned his head sharply to look behind him.

Just as he turned, in the corner of the courtyard, from behind a pile of debris, a figure dashed out. It was a young man, about eighteen or nineteen, holding a strangely shaped weapon, pointing it directly at him while shouting loudly, “Who are you, and why are you here?!”

Richard looked at the person but didn’t imdiately respond; instead, his gaze fell on the weapon in the young man’s hand, and his expression shifted slightly.

The weapon was unlike anything commonly seen on the East Coast; it wasn’t a sword or a chanical crossbow.

The weapon was like a long, slender tube, slightly curved at the back with a bulge in the middle. The young man was grasping it at the bulge, with one finger stretched out, resting on a small trigger, ready to pull it at any mont.

The weapon was unmistakably a fire gun!

Yes, a fire gun! A muzzle-loading flintlock gun!

This felt like a temporal disorder to Richard, making him feel as if he was still on Earth, but he quickly recovered and thought a lot.

The young man holding the gun, seeing that Richard hadn’t spoken for a while, grew angry and yelled, “Hey! Are you deaf or mute?! I am asking you a question here, what kind of person are you and why have you intruded?

Answer quickly; if you don’t speak now, I will take action! I’m telling you, the weapon in my hand is lethal, I could kill you with a re flick of my finger!”

Richard shifted his eyes, looked at the gunman, and said softly, “Don’t be nervous, my reason for being here is quite simple; I’m looking for soone.”

“Looking for whom?!”

“Master Lawrence.”

“Master Lawrence? Damn it!” the gunman’s expression changed drastically upon hearing Richard’s words, “I knew you were up to no good, you’re here to cause trouble for my teacher, go to hell!”

Before Richard could ask why seeking Master Lawrence implied ill intentions, the gunman unceremoniously pulled the trigger.

“Click!”

The striker inside the back of the muzzle-loading flintlock gun rotated, striking against the frizzen above the pan, creating a few sparks.

“Boom!”

The sparks quickly ignited the gunpowder in the barrel, making the air inside blast out rapidly, exploding in a burst of flas and thick smoke at the muzzle, and producing a thunderous roar.

Due to the strong recoil, the gunman was thrown off-balance by the shot, falling on his back with a “bang”, sitting down abruptly.

After the fall, the gunman did not relax, considering that Richard might not be completely dead. He struggled to stand up quickly, looking towards Richard’s position, ready to confirm whether Richard was dead or alive.

The next mont, his eyes widened in shock.

He saw Richard standing there, completely unhard.

This!

“How is this possible!” he scread in disbelief, “How could I not have hit you, from such a close range, I’m always dead accurate!”

Richard raised an eyebrow, looking at the gunman, and spoke slowly, “You know, I also find it odd. According to what I know, your weapon should have fired a tallic bullet upon discharge, but apparently, it didn’t. Tell , did you perhaps forget sothing crucial during the loading process, in your panic before I entered?”

“Uh—this—” the gunman was taken aback, staring at Richard, his expression becoming blank, and he didn’t speak for a long ti.

The atmosphere in the courtyard suddenly beca sowhat awkward.

After a while, the gunman rembered: Richard was an enemy, not the teacher who always guided and reminded him.

The next mont, the gunman shouted and ran towards the main house, yelling as he ran, “Rek, Rek, the person who has co is quite formidable, quickly get the huge device that the teacher made to deal with him!”

“Muto, don’t panic, I’m working on it, but this thing is too heavy; I can’t move it alone, co help !”

“Coming right away.” The gunman, now identified as Muto, quickly ran into the main house.

Richard stood still without stopping him, watching as the other party entered the main house, very curious about what surprises this visit would bring.

Earlier, after seeing the clock at Sherlock’s place, Richard had beco a bit curious, and now seeing the muzzle-loading flintlock gun, what kind of “big job” would be next?

An 800mm caliber Gustav Super Heavy Railway Gun?!

That’s what Richard thought, watching as two people ran out of the main house.

One of these two was the gunman, Muto, and the other was clearly Rek, appearing similar to Muto, also a young man about eighteen or nineteen. However, compared to Muto, his hair was brown, while Muto’s was red.

The two of them, one in front of the other, were carrying a heavy machine.

Rek followed behind with a heavy iron canister in his hand, while Muto, in the front, held a firearm similar to the flintlock gun but larger and heavier, looking sowhat bulky, and connected by a thick hose to the iron canister Rek was holding.

This looked like…

The mont Richard saw the object in their hands, he had a guess.

At that mont, Muto looked over and spoke vehently, “Damn villain, daring to harbor intentions against my teacher, now let show you the power of this big fellow, die!”

Having said that, Tuo Tie wobbled with his firearm, aiming it at him.

Then he pulled the trigger.
